About this ebook

Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Book Preview:

#1 The same God who watched over my kids’ lives when their issues didn’t seem so complex or life-shaping is still looking out for them today.

#2 The struggles and messes your kids make are opportunities for you to bond with them and grow closer to God.

#3 There’s no such thing as a perfect family. Everyone, even that beautiful woman who sits across the aisle from you at church, has issues. And nobody has done it right. We all need huge buckets of God’s grace, and we are all in this together. Second, we don’t have to do this alone. God is with us. When we mess up, he gets angry (1 John 1:8). But he has been faithful to us, and he wants to be faithful to you. He will be faithful to you, if you let him. He will be faithful to you, if you come to him in your time of need and ask him for help and healing. He will be faithful to you, if you receive—not just open your heart and mind to his word, but also receive his Spirit into your life and ask him for help and healing through prayer. Finally, we can stop this cycle of brokenness. Every time we turn our kids over to the care of this broken world instead of giving them the love, nurture, discipline, protection, and guidance they need from the God who created them and loves them unconditionally, we break them (Psalm 24:6).

#4 Nobody has it all figured out. We all need God’s grace, and we are all in this together.

    #1

The same God who watched over my kids’ lives when their issues weren’t as complex or life-shaping is still watching over them today. I may get tired, discouraged, or confused in the spiritual whack-a-mole exercise that is parenting adult children, but God doesn’t.

    #2

The struggles we face as parents are the same struggles our children face, and it is through these struggles that we are able to connect with God and help them grow.

    #3

Praying for your adult children is difficult, but it is important. The issues that color your children’s lives and relationships are serious and have long-term consequences.

    #4

Praying the Scriptures for Your Children is not too late for you, and you can benefit from its advice even if you have children who are older. It is never too late to pray and parent together, and you can have peace even in life’s messy moments.

    #5
