    R

oesha ignored Jade and Galel’s conversation about the present state of Dun. Her eyes glowed with the new sensation of observing a planet so different from her own. The sky was vibrant white, with many floating spacecrafts, and occasionally she would gasp in fear when other life forms crossed her path. But each time, she reminded herself that she wasn’t on Earth.

Dun was a fascinating planet. The blustery weather, glowing breeze, and rugged terrains of Aselva made the planet vibrant and exciting to explore. Roesha was finally able to explore the land of her birth. Keith Sanda, her uncle, was another problem. She hadn’t met the man but murdering her father and dispatching her mother off to the plantation was deplorable. She could deplore the discomfort that she felt in her heart each time she recalled her father’s death.

Briefly, the image of a vision she had before coming to Dun flashed in her mind. While unconscious at the Magnolia hospital, she had seen a woman calling her, with eyes filled with pain and sorrow. Unlike the rebels that followed Galel, Roesha wasn’t engrossed in revenge.

Sengrossy wanted Keith to submit and make way for her to ascend to the throne. She was about to discover her purpose in the grandiose plan that Galel always spoke of. Once the moonwalker could read the huija board, she would take a stand and choose a side.

Ascending into the Lunaris! The robot that rode the spacecraft bellowed to its passengers.

Put on your seatbelt. Galel quickly turned to Roesha. He’d noticed that she had avoided speaking to him and Jade; he had respected that. Roesha flashed a weak smile and adjusted the belt around her chest. The ride towards the Lunaris, the deepest part of the moons where the Moonwalkers dwelt, was not smooth. Inside the moons were rocky protrusions, and the fogginess made it difficult for the riders to see the protrusions, many lost their lives.

Roesha could sense that the area they were ascending to was a dangerous place. First, there weren’t any starships or other space crafts in sight. It was curiously quiet and eerie. A rotten stench of dead fish filled the air, and it was extremely cloudy and cold.

What’s this place? She wrinkled her nose and turned towards the two.

    The Garbage... Jade answered.

The Moonwalkers weren’t in peace with other Dunnians because the politics had assigned a portion of the Lunaris as dumping ground for all Dunnian refuge. This had driven the moonwalkers deeper into the moon; Why would the council approve the dumping of refuge here? Moonwalkers have every right to live sincerely and breathe freely. There should be another means of dumping refuge. It bothered Roesha about the stench that reeked from the grayish clouds.

Jade shrugged. Your father had worked with some scientists to create a unique chemical, but Keith changed the laws when he ascended to power. He claimed the chemicals were too pricey to create, so he created Dunochemical to dump some of it.

Her chest tightened as she thought of how Keith had killed her father in the Jaha Hall. Roesha wished she could come face to face with the man; she had so many things to say to him.

What do the Moonwalkers think about this? She hoped they were part of the second rebellion.

Moonwalkers hardly consider themselves Dunnians. They respect their ruler, Clint Moonwalker, more than Keith. Moonwalker higher technology alienated them from the rest of us. Galel explained to the princess that the moonwalkers weren’t concerned in rebelling again; they preferred to mind their business.

Roesha exhaled sadly. She wondered why they would prefer to suffer instead of fighting for what belonged to them. Just when she was about to ask another question, the starship swerved abruptly leftward, quickly avoiding an explosive rock. Luckily, she had fastened her seatbelt.

Rocks, my princess... Galel winked, but Roesha didn’t find it hilarious.

Roesha’s fingers lightly brushed her seatbelt when they ascended into another plain; this time, her eyes would draw in a more by the exquisite beauty. The first structure that caught her eye was a brilliant tower with a conical roof. It had no visible foundation, and it seemed to rotate as they flew nearer to it. Built with bright glass with silvery circular rings etched to each block. On the tip of the roof, a dazzling chain of reddish chandeliers. The air around this place reminded Roe of the berries she ate while growing up. A feeling of homesickness washed over her as she remembered her parents. But she pushed it aside. She had to stick to the plan of overthrowing Keith, and returning to the earth to find her parents.

Galel’s purplish eyes fed into the amazement on the princess’ face. He thought she was the most fascinating person he had seen. Galel loved Jade, though he admired the girl whom his father had entrusted in his care all these years. He liked the princess, had believed his story and had done what was authentic.

Wish I had a camera..." Roe suddenly remembered her camera. She would’ve taken plenty pictures of Dun, hoping that one day, she would find Earth again.

Your ride is over... The robot descended to the glowing conical roof and waited for its passengers to evacuate the starship. Roesha swallowed and looked downward. How on earth would they get into the building from the roof? She laid the question in her mind aside and followed Galel’s lead out of the spaceship.

The Golden Guild was the headquarters of the Lunaris; most moonwalkers gathered there with the officials to preside over matters that bothered the people. Jordan Moonwalker was a man of status, and his office was in the Golden Guild. They needed to find him.

How are we going to get in? Roesha asked.

We don’t get in. They come for us. Galel corrected.

The shiny roof of the Golden Guild was actually a purposeful design for generating energy. They embedded millions of microchips into its surface, which caused Moonwalkers
