    About Author

    Chapter One

G ood evening, I'm Sammi, and welcome to the Arcadian Veil Ghost Tour Sammi smiled at the crowd. She gripped her classic witch’s broomstick in one hand and gave a big wave with the other. A muffled chatter of hellos echoed back at her, and she continued, For those who don't know, Arcadia, Colorado is a special place where the veil between worlds is very thin all year around. It makes our home very susceptible to hauntings, sightings, and paranormal activity.

The crowd gave a collective laugh as if this was all in good fun. Sammi grinned and motioned to her co-worker. This is Davina, she'll be helping with the tour tonight. Sammi leaned forward and gave the crowd a playful wink. We'll start by showing you some of the unique places here in town and then move on to the Howling Oaks Cemetery and the Baker Mansion.

She could barely make out a pair of eyes in the darkness at the back of the bus, and the hairs on the back of Sammi's neck stood on end. Crap! What was one of those creatures doing on her tour bus? She swallowed and flashed another carefree smile. If anyone has any questions, we'll do a quick Q&A, and then we'll be on our way.

Hands immediately shot up. Sammi shifted uncomfortably, pointing towards a man in the front row. He stood up and winked at her making her even more uncomfortable. Why are you dressed like a witch?

Sammi laughed and adjusted her black witch's hat. Because I am a witch, and I assure you as witches, we know all the best haunts and hangouts of the undead.

That answer drew the usual laughs from the passengers who just assumed she was playing a part.

Davina nudged Sammi in her ribs and growled, There’s a creature on the bus.

I know, don't react to it, I'll handle it in a minute. She cleared her throat and continued, Next, um.. She scanned the raised hands and said. You, ma'am, in the purple shirt.

The lady stayed seated but asked, If you're a witch, can you show us a spell, like can you turn someone into a toad or something?

Well, I could, but the cleanup would take hours. I don't think anyone wants to stick around to help with that.

The humans chuckled again. Sammi tried to avoid looking at the eyes watching her for fear of drawing attention to their unwanted guest. Sammi pointed to another man in the middle of the bus.

Look, I'm paying for a serious ghost tour here, I'm not here for this performance of yours. If I'm not going to get my money's worth, I want a refund.

Sammi bristled. She always hated these types of tourists. The ones looking for answers. The
