    A Wife’s Review

    I obviously knew my husband was working on a book about how the whole conscious brain worked. He mentioned odd topics he was working on, but when he asked me to proofread it, I didn’t really know what to expect!

    I secretly thought how can he write a book about this topic and ever engage most people’s attention significantly enough for them not to become bored?

    I found it all fascinating, but, when I reached the section about the actual operation of the three different categories of departments that comprise the whole brain, as advised in the book, I focused not on their names and operation. Instead, I concentrated on the different roles and uses they crucially carry out for you every second and hour of your life. I continued through this section and just couldn’t put it down during the whole of the rest of the book. I found it utterly riveting reading.

    Be prepared to be amazed!

    Firstly to my wonderfully supportive, loving, patient and intelligent wife, Ann. Particularly during the sometimes frenetic and long process of writing this book, Ann put up with me promising to do all kinds of the usual things, only to find me yet again at my laptop, sometimes into the late/early hours.

    Ann also had to endure the numerous and regular shouts of exaltation when I thought that I had eventually found the answer of how a particular part of your brain’s functionality worked, for which I had been searching, sometimes for a number of months. Usually, when I exploded with this discovery, I quite often attached the comment of, As usual, it’s a No-Brainer. The simpler the answer, the disproportionately more difficult it is to find it.

    Latterly, after completing the book, Ann agreed to carry out the vitally important tough job of the first/initial proof reading, which she completed with the required tenacity, concentration and skill.

    Secondly, I will be eternally grateful to the Emeritus Professor David Sanders with whom I met on a Fred Olsen cruise ship, following one of his absolutely brilliant lectures on the mind. We had a fascinating discussion about Consciousness which galvanised me into commencing writing this book.

    An Introduction

    About 40 years ago, through my work, I became increasingly fascinated by how our brains actually worked and the unbelievable power, capacity and capability they must have to accomplish what we each achieve as a consequence of them. I mentioned these thoughts occasionally to one or two people and continued to mull over how brains worked as an occasional background past time.

    A few years ago, I mentioned this interest to our youngest son, and he bought me a huge book about the brain as a Christmas present. I started to avidly read this book, eagerly waiting to be enlightened about the functionality of the whole brain system, and I began making cryptic notes whenever I read anything of particular significance.

    Very early on, I found that to date, no one has been able to define exactly what, in detail, our consciousness, mind and soul actually are, how the consciousness is created and how the three operate and interact.

    I read this with disbelief and instinctively felt that I could do this. You may think what a cocky etc., person I must be, but please believe that I did not have these thoughts in that kind of way. It was as if these thoughts were driven by something I wasn’t consciously fully aware of and I just had a deep-seated feeling. I suspect this was coming from an area in my brain as I had been considering this topic a lot more than I had been consciously aware of.

    So please read on. I jotted down some basic notes for my definitions of each of these three aspects of our brain and continued reading the book to completion. Disappointingly, I made very few notes because I had expected to be given a lot of information about the brain’s actual processing functionality.

    After more thoughts about the subject, and with my long-suffering wife Ann putting up with my increasingly frequent comments and saying, For heaven’s sake, do something rather than just talk about the subject, I decided to attend some large seminar or convention about the brain. I assumed that there might be an available option for me to get up and announce my thoughts on these three definitions.

    Upon further reflection, I thought that if my ideas were judged to have any substance for useful consideration, they would have been broadcast on the internet before I had returned to my hotel for the evening, with others taking the credit. So I decided it would be best to write a book and make additional use of my retirement.

    For the first time in my life, I commenced a process of great importance to me without initially mapping out any framework at all for this exercise. A week or two after I started, I began to realise that it felt as if I was the tool being used to carry out this process.

    As the book progressed, this feeling was repeated at times, specifically after I had finally understood and developed a belief of how a particularly challenging part of the brain’s functionality actually operated and what its detailed role was.

    I felt so excited to be on a journey in which I just felt that the workings of our brain would gradually be uncovered to me. This may sound a tad naive or cocky or some other things, but it was just how I actually felt.

    Such was my emotional drive with this project that I increasingly struggled not to work on the book continuously, throughout the day and too far into the early hours.

    Basic ideas of principle, coupled with more and more details came flooding out of my brain. It was like before I retired and was at work again, producing a 150-page detailed engineering specification of production, performance, quality, design, manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning for a very large multi-million pound, automated manufacturing process line. I was experiencing the same emotional buzz and sheer satisfaction all over again.

    It felt as if all of this information and ideas had been gathering inside my brain. It had been waiting to burst out when tweaked, in an almost continuous flood of thoughts, ideas, questions and emotional energy about the topic.

    As it was whilst at work, the more principles and details I received from my brain and placed on paper and on to my laptop screen, thus enabling me to look at them, study and consider them, the more they interacted, developed and blossomed.

    My initial focus was on two of the three primary definitions I had very basically developed, with your consciousness having my main focus and attention, because I just felt it was so foundational to your brain’s overall functionality.

    I also worked equally on the individual development of your mind whilst at this stage, focussing on its’ basic structure, because I also felt that it was the other key player in your brain’s functioning capacities.

    Over the following six months, l began popping down on paper various ideas, details, principles, questions, chapters and sub-chapters for my book. I did this during the day, evening and awakening during the night, out on our boat, walking in a thunderstorm, swimming, speaking to someone, driving the car, on an aeroplane: in absolutely every setting, everywhere. Even whilst sitting on a wall outside a museum on a Scottish island, I was intently studying a bird for an hour, perched on a guttering. I observed all of its actions, asking myself what they were for and what were its thoughts. My conclusion confirmed my initial diagnosis, which was that the bird was creating/updating its Consciousness. It was simply and continually looking all around, up and down, to look out for any danger to itself from birds or cats that it would have to take evasive action to avoid. It was also probably seeking any food or drink that may become available for it to stay alive. It was simply utilising the two primary objectives of its consciousness: to keep itself safe from danger and to have sufficient food and drink to provide sufficient sustenance to remain alive.

    My wife is a professionally qualified dance teacher and, shortly after she and I retired, we began working on cruise ships. We taught the passengers how to dance and danced with them in the evenings. As happened fairly often whilst working on the cruise ships, when something out of the ordinary, extremely important or very unusual happened to me or someone else, I would note it down as something that warranted some detailed consideration, explanation and understanding. As soon as possible, I would type these notes, information and queries into the relevant section of my book to consider and expand in the future when appropriate.

    Apart from the gradual and ultimate benefits for the knowledgeable development of my book, I began to realise that these notes and observations were also what felt like the organically evolving, primary objectives of what it was going to be used for. Therefore, they directed what its foci needed to be, in terms of benefiting people generally, which were:

    a)Writing it always with great clarity, for people who had absolutely no existing knowledge of how their brains functioned, and provide them with some understanding of their brain’s principles of operation, along with some details.

    My simple objective, particularly about each of my beliefs, was to explain them with the utmost clarity and state why I held them. Also, part of these objectives of clarity that I sincerely hope you will agree with, was my use of chapters, subchapters, numbering and lettering. This was to separate out information as I built up a topic to hopefully make the final understanding of it a gradual and, therefore, clearer process.

    b)Write to help individuals and their loved ones begin to have some degree of understanding of how their brains function, how their decision-making process and its resultant actions occur. Therefore, they will hopefully be able to help themselves deal with the trials and tribulations they suffer due to the increasingly and desperately challenging life we all lead, as a consequence of the combination of their financial, functional and generally life’s difficulties and pressures.

    c)Write to propose a principle but simple suggestion of where people’s physical ill health can possibly be better understood and therefore perhaps better treated.

    d)Write to hopefully be able to assist those who spend a lot of their lives trying to fathom the workings of our brain.

    e)Write to assist those who wish to improve their brain system’s functionality of decision making that we all spend most of our lives carrying out.

    f)My beliefs and answers to a few ongoing day-to-day Topical Questions that I have noted within the media, about us, the human race and about the extraordinary functionality, power, depth and breadth of capability of our brains.

    g)Write to highlight and provide some principle suggestions for consideration and therefore some possible answers to a list of frequently posed questions within the media about the increasing percentage of the population suffering from serious mental and physical illnesses. I increasingly feel that, unless the current trends and common practices by a large percentage of the population, in some areas change for the better, there exists the potential to increasingly put at risk the good health and worse of our future human race.

    Foreword

    This is a potted history primarily relevant to the book of my life, up to the point and beyond when I started to write it.

    NB At this point, I would like to explain why I have given such a lot of information about my dyslexia, so you can judge whether to continue and read all of this sub-chapter or not. This information is for those who have dyslexia, or someone they care for does, and they wish to help them.

    Dyslexia affects a significant percentage of the population. It manifests itself in various ways or types of difficulties with different people. It has the potential to make dyslexic people’s lives significantly operationally difficult. It can cause low self-esteem and for people to suffer from very high levels of anxiety with all of the resultant problems that follow.

    1.0 My dyslexia – The extremely significant downsides

    I contracted pneumonia when six months old and for three months, I was at death’s door. Our GP visited my mother and me most evenings to normally say that I would probably not last the night, as my heart and breathing were extremely laboured. Every night I was administered a teaspoon of whisky to assist my heart’s function. Penicillin was developed and literally saved my life.

    During this time of my life, the periods of significant reduction of oxygen to my brain and the resultant damage to some of its departments caused me to suffer from extremely serious dyslexia dysfunctionalities which I continue to experience to this day.

    The functional consequences of my dyslexia are that I struggle to spell, remember names, and so many other things which are all basics in life, like people’s birthdays, including my wife’s. I really struggle with learning, particularly new information, and more so if the information is delivered too fast for my brain to accept, causing it to shut down its consideration of the data. My memory retention and recall of even simple, basic information is extremely poor. However, one of my lifesavers is that when I receive or note something that I deem is very important to me, I will always remember it.

    If I am calculating important data for a numerical solution, I have to progress at a relatively slow pace and check any calculations or considerations several times in succession to be confident in continuing the process to a successful conclusion.

    Also, if I am simply reading a large paragraph of information listing four separate aspects, leading to some particular and important conclusion, I have to repeat this reading a number of times consecutively. This is the only way I can remember the collective effect of all of these separate aspects and therefore accept the final conclusion that they lead to or support.

    These weaknesses made doing well at exams a particular struggle and when having to absorb new information at meetings etc., whilst at work. Outside work, it was, and still is, a challenge to recall people’s names and most other categories of quite simple information, including learning new dance steps. I have to repeat them a hundred times or so over the few days after initially learning them to retain them in my memory.

    Being dyslexic has been a significant factor throughout my life, particularly causing me to: Fail my eleven-plus which my dear mother told me many years later that my teachers were astounded when I failed it. I had nightmares for thirty-four years about the eleven-plus adjudicator announcing, Fifteen minutes left, when I had only completed approximately 30% of the required questions. This caused an emotional and physical shudder that reverberates even today.

    I only stopped experiencing nightmares about this exam experience after my mother informed me of my pneumonia and when I realised that I suffered from dyslexia. I started reading about it in order to help our eldest son, who suffered from it with different symptoms to mine and was unable to write correctly, even at fourteen. With my help and his utter determination to improve his writing, he developed the ability to write at a very respectable standard and now runs his own very successful business. The knowledge that I suffered from these dyslexia weaknesses and the understanding of why I struggled, enabled me to come to terms with it. Therefore, my eleven-plus failure and the nightmares disappeared.

    Suffering from dyslexia also causes very significant lack of self-esteem difficulties due to feeling extremely awkward at struggling to learn in all types of environments, including when the information wasn’t in itself difficult to understand. But, it is created by you feeling that other people who don’t know you well, assume you are struggling due to being stupid, thick or lazy, etc., etc.

    2.0 My dyslexia – The immense and extremely significant benefits

    Approximately ten years ago, over breakfast, whilst working on the cruise ships, my wife and I got talking at length to a man about his profession. For twenty years, he worked with a vast number of people who were suffering from very serious dyslexia difficulties, helping and teaching them how to deal with it emotionally and operationally in their daily lives.

    After listening to him for quite a while, I eventually told him I had suffered from dyslexia for the whole of my life, and was still suffering to this day. He asked me quite a few questions about my difficulties and he finally said to me, I just can’t believe what you have told me. I have met an enormous number of people who suffered far less severe symptoms than you have who experienced quite serious mental health difficulties caused by it. I have studied you very closely this last half an hour, and I can’t detect any symptoms from your dyslexia that I would have expected to witness. To be honest with you, I would have expected you to quite possibly have ended up in some care scene as a consequence of them. This made me quite proud of the way I have dealt with it.

    Although my dyslexia has caused very extreme difficulties operationally and emotionally, throughout my whole life, including today, I would not wish to change my life from how it has been. The upside capabilities that dyslexia has given me far outweigh the downsides. It is one of a number of factors that has enabled me to achieve many things at work and in my life and has assisted me in having, I believe, blown away all of the cobwebs that had shrouded the mysteries of consciousness.

    Despite having no knowledge that I actually suffered from dyslexia until my mid-forties, as I became increasingly exposed to more exams, following my eleven-plus disaster, I realised I had particular learning difficulties generally and also certain problems with passing exams. As the exams featured more prominently in my life, I ensured that I developed more effective coping strategies to minimise my learning difficulties. I created a list of extremely crucial exam techniques for myself, finding and developing the optimum revision methods for each subject. The net benefits of all of these elements enabled me to obtain increasingly far better exam results and, ultimately, a magnificent final exam result.

    I utilised some of the great strengths I inherited in my genes to achieve these objectives, which also obtained some consequential additional benefits. When I came to my Chartered Institution exams, I had to become an expert at learning a huge syllabus with literally hundreds of very complex formulae. Developing a long list of good exam techniques eventually enabled me to be able to complete all of the exam questions required.

    I also forced my brain not to be as obstructive as it normally is, particularly whilst in live meetings. This was even more important following a very high-level promotion I achieved at work, which I had not really sought and decided to accept only after much consideration. I am convinced that because my brain is relatively uncluttered and devoid of not useless but unimportant data, it is relatively empty, compared with most people’s, and this was a major benefit. It was refreshingly available to think about anything I put my mind to. I realised that I could see the framework of any system, throughout all of its complexity. When I put my mind to it, I could also see and home into any detail, when that view was required, in order to achieve whatever objectives prevailed.

    Whilst at work, I supported my poor memory by developing an extremely large, extremely efficient, easy-to-use paper filing system. I used it for every single project, large and small, that was current and completed it from day one of my working life in engineering. I also found that I had the ability to focus on something I was working on that I deemed important, with an extreme, unbroken intensity for very long periods of time, if required.

    I naturally seem to be able to study, understand and connect with people to quite a depth, particularly if I sense they have significant difficulties and require assistance, or when I am interviewing them. This sounds a bit self-congratulatory, but it is not meant to be like that. It’s just the way I feel, how I see things and how I operate – always constructively and always to assist people and move towards the prevailing objective/s. I have utilised this ability of sensing what peoples’ characters are, their prevailing attitudes and whether they are telling the truth etc., during crucial work meetings with people from many different countries and companies. This was to try and resolve complicated and very important situations within the many engineering projects I worked on, yet still retain our mutual respect afterwards, which is always an essential factor. I also used these skills within the day-to-day running of the company I worked at for nearly all of my working life after obtaining my engineering qualifications and the membership of the IEE that I was awarded.

    3.0 My academic activities and achievements

    I have had the absolute pleasure, joy and satisfaction of having benefitted from a wonderful academic and practical sandwich course-basis education in an extremely fulfilling Professional Engineering learning and working environment.

    I obtained this education whilst being a student apprentice at the G.E.C. factory in Witton, Birmingham. I then went on to become accepted as a Chartered Engineer of the IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) after passing their IEE honours degree, part three membership requirement. With my erstwhile extreme difficulties with doing well in exams, I was so pleased with passing this particular exam because it was the most important and highest academic level exam that I had ever taken to date. It was also the last ever exam of its type for IEE membership. It was to be replaced with a different one, and there were no re-sits as there always had been in the past. It was also an exam that was sat throughout the whole of the country.

    Because of this set of circumstances, all of our lecturers predicted that the standard of this particular last ever exam, which previously and normally had been a very high standard, would be relatively easy this time. I had never heard and seen so many gasps, with people struggling to stay on their chairs as they did their first read-through of the paper and were struggling to find any questions they could answer. One student did actually fall off his chair.

    I received a lovely hand-written letter from our chief lecturer congratulating me on passing and saying that it was an extremely low pass rate of 25% over the whole country. I was on cloud nine for many days after this great news.

    I rose to become Chief Electrical Engineer of my company, which was part of a global, highest technical specification, aluminium manufacturing and development organisation, and one of the world leaders in its field.

    Due to a number of my successful and very challenging engineering projects and the position I eventually rose to, I was advised to apply for Fellowship Status of the IEE. I was so busy, that I didn’t apply, which I now regret from a personal satisfaction perspective.

    I have used the benefits of this education during all of my life, and not just within my working environment. I have now been fully retired for twelve years, having taken early retirement at sixty and returning immediately as a consultant until I finally fully retired at sixty-five years of age. I value beyond measure, being fortunate to be able to look back upon the whole of my education and working life and feel such an immense degree of satisfaction and pleasure. I feel privileged to have worked with all of the people at my factory and also all of the extremely capable engineers and research professionals at different laboratories, companies and countries. I worked on a vast number of engineering projects for forty years up to the day I retired, working for the last five years as a consultant.

    It was not plain sailing at times, but the key is when your objectives are finally achieved and the manufacturing production, quality output, costs, timescales and reliability are all accomplished. You walk slowly for half an hour or more around the operating reality of the end product after five years of immense work from a large team of people from many different companies around Europe and beyond, starting from a totally blank piece of paper and imprinting a very large production line onto an empty area of the shop floor. No amount of money can buy that feeling of utter, immense achievement, just pure satisfaction, pleasure and joy.

    4.0 My activities outside work

    Playing sport all year-round from the age of five to my late forties was a very large part of my life outside work. I played tennis, squash, badminton, golf, hockey and did judo, all of which I took very seriously, but always with great satisfaction and enjoyment. The PE teacher at my senior school pestered the life out of me to take up boxing seriously. I kept refusing, saying that, with my big nose, it would get broken far too easily. In retrospect, I would have liked to have given it a shot! I played all sports at a very good level, with one played at a particularly high level. I carried out quite a lot of coaching. I eventually suffered from a very bad chronic lower back problem. I was forced to give up all of the sports I was playing at that time or risk ending up in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. This was the diagnosis from the surgeon upon studying MRI scans of my lower back.

    Since retirement, I took up Ballroom, Latin and Sequence dancing a few years ago with my wife, who is a professionally qualified dance teacher. We worked on the cruise ships teaching and dancing with the passengers, which was extremely hard work, but we enjoyed it enormously. It kept our brains and bodies extremely fit, learning new dances, steps and routines whilst visiting a lot of the wonderful places in this fascinating world we are so fortunate to inhabit. Regular exercise is also extremely beneficial for de-stressing your mind, minimising any anxieties of the day that may have built up from a particularly tough day at work and therefore contributing significantly to keeping your mental health in good order.

    Boating has been another big part of our lives since our mid-twenties. We had an estuary cruiser then, in which we and our family had many great adventures. We travelled many thousands of miles along the canals and, latterly, the inland tidal rivers of England, which was an enormous change from the canals in so many exciting but extremely challenging ways.

    We then moved on to a twin inboard engine seagoing/coastal boat in which we had many years of great fun out at sea and inland, cruising with the local yacht club and, at times, on our own. Again, this represented another major change from cruising on the inland tidal waters with many exciting and highly challenging differences.

    In order to knowledgeably and therefore safely, be able to do our excursions, particularly on our own, on sometimes over sixty continuous miles of seagoing trips, in periodically pretty awful weather which was not predicted, I passed a two year, one day per week course examination and qualified with a Yacht Master’s Certificate of which I was very proud and pleased to have been awarded. You have to have achieved an extremely high level of marks over the two-hour exam, but it provided an immense amount of vitally important knowledge of what to be aware of whilst at sea and very much more.

    Because of my difficulties with exams and the amount of questions, a lot of which required mathematical calculations that needed careful thought, knowledge and concentration, I took time off work as a consultant during that period. I needed to work out a system for maximising my chances of passing the exam, as you did not pass if you failed to reach the very high pass level. I set out a very detailed revision schedule to embed the required knowledge, and I carried out this revision process daily.

    I also got hold of four of the most recent two-hour exam papers. I sat down and, as fast as I could, worked all the way through the first paper and took four hours and fifteen minutes – a big fail. I analysed why I had taken so long, and it was the usual, old dyslexic-caused weaknesses. I listed out each of these weaknesses and wrote down how I would force my brain to operate differently, pressurised by my objective of – I had to pass!! I sat each of the other exam papers whilst consciously forcing myself to follow better procedures. The last practice exam I did was the day before the actual exam, so I could maximise the objective of overriding my brain’s natural instincts. I completed this last test paper with five minutes to spare!

    We currently have a medium sized motorhome which we use for holidays, visiting friends and our family.

    5.0 Me as a human being

    Throughout my life, I have always tried to do the best that I can in everything that I do, whilst adhering to the rules and obtaining as much enjoyment, satisfaction and fun as is possible. I have also tried to live a life based on the Ten Commandments, which, when I heard them for the first time at senior school, just struck me as a very simple guide of how to lead your life whilst on this planet of ours.

    Throughout my life, at work and outside work, I have always tried to help anyone I have met if they have been struggling with whatever. This has never been for any reason other than if they needed help, and I thought that I could assist them, I would do my best, in an unobtrusive way, to aid them if they wished.

    My wife and I have the pleasure of having two wonderful sons and their wonderful five grandchildren, all of whom we have quite a lot of enjoyable and interesting contact with.

    I have inherited some very powerfully positive genes, which I have utilised to their maximum, but also some negatively powerful ones, which I have had to learn how to manage as I have passed along my life’s journey. Fortunately, I have been able to step outside myself when necessary and also step inside myself to see what was going on. This has been a part of the process of managing my own difficulties and strengths. It has meant I can participate in a productive and acceptable manner in my personal life, my family life and within my work and the whole of my life’s package.

    I am able to experience a number of emotional views, senses and insights, which are:

    a)To see an aura around the head of several people I have known over the years, who were about to die relatively soon after my having this experience. This was a completely unplanned and unsought after occurrence, and I gradually realised the significance of what I was experiencing.

    b)Commencing whilst still a teenager and for a number of years, before retiring to bed, two nights out of three, when sitting in front of my bedroom mirror, I would go into a type of trance-like state for around an hour. I thought about many things in relation to my current and earlier life experiences and the consequence of this was to learn things of significance. This sounds extremely vague, but I will explain it as I experienced and responded to it at the time.

    c)When someone is emotionally depressed, to at least, an unhealthy degree, without them speaking, I can see the aura and smell the depression emanating from around them.

    These capabilities and my experiences have, I believe, enabled me to be able to help others who are struggling with their lives. It allows them to be completely open and comfortable about informing me of their difficulties and to being helped.

    If I were to ask of you just one thing, it would simply be to please continue and read all of the book in the order it is written. It covers the functionality of the whole of your brain which. Because I believe that it is an inherently interconnected and interrelated processing system, it is easier to understand it all by reading it in this way. I have attempted to write the book in what I hope is the best order to achieve the easiest clarity of understanding of all of my beliefs and proposals. I very much hope that you will find it interesting.

    At the end of the book, there is a description of the process through which I developed a significant percentage of my beliefs and proposals about the role and functionality of your brain, all as presented in this book.

    Also, quite a few areas of functionality and key parts of roles that your brain satisfies have been described in more than one section. They are usually described slightly differently and with other uses or activities to assist with clarity of understanding.

    So, please, let my book commence.

    Chapter 1.0 – An Overview of Your Brain and Body

    SUBCHAPTER 1.1: Your incredible, wonderful, wonderous brain

    OVERVIEW: I believe that The Grand Creator had a 10-out-of-10 day when he/she/it began the creation and continued evolution of your brain.

    I consider your brain to probably be the most powerful, capable, flexible, continually self-learning, potentially continually developing/improving, system processing controller, SINGLE UNIT FACILITY that exists in, quite possibly, the whole of our Universe.

    That, in my opinion, is the degree of breadth and depth of capability, capacity and power that it has.

    NB If other human-type civilisations are found to exist – and I believe that this may not be the case, some of these will inevitably have a more advanced brain than ours, particularly those that visit us, rather than we visit them.

    I first became interested in the functionality of our brains 40 years ago. This was when I began to become increasingly involved with the specification, project control of design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and management of extremely large and complex computer-controlled automatic equipment and processing lines in my industry.

    I was swimming during my tri-weekly session and, as often was the case, my brain had been working on some important work-related problem that required solving, when I had this flash of judgement:

    THE CAPABILITY AND CAPACITY OF ONE AVERAGE HUMAN BRAIN WAS EQUAL TO ALL OF THE COMPUTERS THAT EXISTED IN THE WORLD AT THAT TIME.

    Since then, I have been interested to note that in some people’s view, this relationship was in the correct ballpark, which supports the assessment of just how incredible your brain is.

    AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT POINTER TO NOTE:

    With the exception of all these chapters/subchapters: 6.9 & 8.0 & 9.0 & 10.0, and the exception of a little of subchapters 6.10 & 7.15, the following is applicable.

    I would like to say at this point that all of my beliefs and proposals about the topics and factual details contained throughout this book (with the exceptions listed above) are based on my beliefs of how your consciousness is created. I have studied its role and purpose, plus how and why all of the rest of your brain’s basic rules, objectives, methods and activities of operating all relate to and are governed by your consciousness.

    After I arrived at this immensely important juncture of having this vast amount of understanding and knowledge as described above, I found that it inevitably opened up other avenues of your brain’s activities that were not part of my book’s originally-planned primary contents and topics of investigation.

    Everything you do emanates from your brain with a related what, how and why. These other avenues took me into mental health, physical health and why we have pain, etc. I explored perhaps how better, or in different ways, we can deal with certainly not all but some of these aspects, all of which are of immense importance to everyone alive today.

    Your brain is always trying to help you. The trick is for you to let it.

    All details in the book, with the exceptions outlined above originate from the foundational knowledge I have created and gained. A few of my beliefs may surprise you and others.

    I recommend that you buckle up for the ride. I hope you will enjoy it all.

    a) A basic overall view and description of your brain.

    The organ that is your brain is comprised of approximately three pounds of corrugated, organic matter. It lives inside the physically protective shield of your skull. It is located in a position where it can function with excellent operational efficiency and effect. Your brain deals with crucially required incoming information that I will refer to as data, from your five senses, your Body’s Health Status Monitoring System (B.H.S.M.S.) and your internal thoughts. It is protected from physical harm as far as is realistically possible, given its elevated position. This is required to receive the extremely important range of high quality, useful data which your senses can gather at this elevation and transmit into your brain.

    NB Your Body’s Health Status Monitoring System (B.H.S.M.S.) is the name I give to the part of your brain that has the dedicated job of automatically monitoring your whole body’s physical and mental health. It alerts the appropriate Data Input Department if it notes you have a problem. This data will be process in the next update of your consciousness.

    Your brain exists in an extremely dark and very quiet place, with almost the only sounds coming from your Data Scanning System. I believe this emits a significantly high pitched yet almost silent noise. Sounds also come from your blood coursing through your brain to help keep it cool, healthy and supplied with oxygen and sugar to satisfy its required needs.

    Your Data Scanning System is the name I give to that part of your brain with the dedicated role of automatically scanning the data coming in from your five senses: sound, sight, smell, taste and touch, your B.H.S.M.S. and from your internally created thoughts.

    b) What would be the consequences if all brains throughout our world stopped operating NOW?!!

    To put into perspective the importance of brains to all of our lives, just imagine the fundamental consequences if NOW, THIS VERY MOMENT, the BRAIN of every single human, animal and living creature and the brain equivalent of every single, living entity STOPPED FUNCTIONING.

    All humans, animals and creatures would very rapidly begin to die and fall to the ground, etc. All living entities would also enter into a process of dying. All human-driven cars would begin to crash; all flying aircraft would eventually crash land; all moving boats and ships would ultimately collide into something. All of the electrical and gas national power supplies would sooner or later cease and the whole of our planet would be in blackness during the night.

    There would be no moving and operating machines or facilities apart from the solar, tidal, river, dammed and wind-powered systems. However, these too would eventually shutdown, if they rely to a degree on nationally supplied electrical supplies outside their own supply, plus operating systems and ongoing maintenance.
