About this ebook

Rejuvenated from the waters at The Fountain of his destiny, Author Trevian J. BKA the self-proclaimed Pirate Lord, 'Captain Jack Tony' has a tabula rasa & a new leash on life with one simple goal in mind: To simply live again...

The journey continues for The Trilla Poet as he evokes the spark for social change through his unparagoned literature, treatises, rime & rume in the midst of a world forever changed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The conversations that are presented in his latest masterpiece are uncomfortable, that must take place, that will take place, unapologetically & necessary for that social change to occur or at the very least, begin to normalize having those discussions. Dread it. Run from it. Transmutation is inevitable and now it's here.

Trevian J. Hunter Brannon

My name (full name) is Trevian Jerell Hunter Brannon I was born in Colorado Springs, CO in Fort Carson at Evans Hospital. My roots is in Shady Grove, West Memphis, Arkansas, but make no mistake I'm from Port Arthur, Texas...Screwed Up Texas, that is! The Villa of The Trill...Writing poetry (my own 'unique' brand of poetry, "Trilla Poetry") rhymes, & flows is without a doubt my favorite pastime and a divine gift that was bestowed upon me by The Heavenly Father. Through my words...my 'Trilla Poetry'...my literature...my sayings, I want to entertain you...I want to make you laugh...I want you to enjoy yourself & constantly be in awe, but the greatest achievement for me personally is to motivate & inspire 1 person through my writings...the "fame" and the "recognition" is not truly important.

The Journey, Vol. 3 - Trevian J. Hunter Brannon

    THE JOURNEY, VOL. 3:

    Living Again

    Trevian J. Hunter Brannon

    Dedication

For all the pirate lords out there that’s still sailing the seas of your life & being the captain of your ship. Keep sailing. Keep believing. Maintain your heading to the fountain of your destiny.

A person wearing a hat Description automatically generated with medium confidence

All that matters is what you do in that dash

When each of us make that transition out of this physical realm and the great journey of our lives has concluded, all that matters is what you do in that tiny dash between your first breath and your final smile. What you do in that tiny dash can leave a giant impact on your loved ones that you leave behind and can even change the world. I knew of such a person whose legacy whose #MambaMentality has been embedded in our minds, in our souls, in our hearts, in the way we walk, in our swag, in our drip, our natural demeanor, etc. As I write this, it still doesn’t even seem real that one Kobe Bean Bryant is no longer with us in this physical realm, but the lives he touched, his impact that he had on mankind is still ever so present with us. Now while I was not the uber, die-hard Kobe fan, I always had respect for Mamba & what he meant to the game of basketball. To give you an insight on just how much of an stone cold assassin he was in every aspect of his life, after he retired from the game of basketball following a legendary 60-point performance, he won a bloody Academy Award for the short, "Dear Basketball"!! Do you realize how unprecedented that was at the time, hehe; it is just, it’s just hilariously one of the most dandy, keen accomplishments ever. Yes, the world seems a little less bright now that 8-24 is no longer with us, but I find peace in knowing that he transitioned back to the spiritual realm being the ultimate #GirlDad to his princess, Gigi whose life was also tragically cut short in that fateful helicopter crash along with the 7 other unfortunate souls. Kobe, we miss you, rivals & allies alike, fans and non-fans alike. You are immortalized forever, the Mamba Mentality will be in our minds and our hearts forever, that is all that matters & thank you for your impact on the world in just that tiny, little dash between your first breath and your final smile.

    Rest in Peace,

    Kobe Bryant & Gigi Bryant

"Over the last few years, I’ve been tainted by darkness again, heartbroken, hurt, betrayed by those I love, in pain, got major anger issues, suffering on the inside, so for me, it’s been an outlet of healing for me & with each session, I’m slowly making a recovery to getting back, but I’m already back with my trident in my hand with an adjusted crown in my spirit and King JSTA AKA The Trilla Poet AKA The Author From Port Arthur BKA Captain Jack Tony is LIVING. AGAIN.

    Long Live Trevian Jerell."

Since the premarital joint counseling session that me and my fiancé had with Dr. Carter, life in general for me personally has just been a vivid, suspenseful, riveting, drama-filled, motion picture. Like your favorite film that is being directed and produced by Steven Spielberg & Quentin Tarantino! In between taking 3 online courses at HCC, working at an PTSD-triggering, stress-triggering job, sending off countless query letters to literary agents in hopes of gaining representation and landing a book deal, while still self-promoting my previous masterpiece, #Fountain & that was just scratching the cold, brutal surface of it all…

    And then, 2020 came.

And along with it, came the greatest hold my beer energy of all-time towards mankind.

The transmission in the 2015 Nissan Sentra ("Smokey) going out was bad enough, but then weeks later, we lost Kobe Bryant, Gigi Bryant & 7 other souls to a helicopter crash out in California. The rent went up, along with the never-ending advent of these fucking bills & just as I was about to make a year with the company Group 1 Automotive, lighting struck. BOOM! Nawl, that was not lighting, no that was just my supervisor, Mr. Keith Leeson informing me that I was being let-go due to a reduction of workforce, muthafucka bitch!! It was a shock to me and my supervisor, Keith wasn’t too happy about it as well & I as left Sterling-McCall that day, as I’m driving back to the apartment in the Jersey Village area of Houston, I kept saying to myself, perfect timing". Yeah, it was perfect timing indeed, just in time for this COVID-19 virus to bring the very fabric of everyday life here in America to its knees (after I had a successful interview with Reddy Ice, by the way; that very same day, that night is when the shit hit the fan and the NBA season was suspended)

    The Journey impels…

    The Journey forges ahead

Captain Jack Tony, fresh out of The Fountain

    Into an unpredictable buzz-saw

Back out at these harsh seas

    Back on this portentous road…

    My soul being newly impugn

    Challenged.

    Tested.

Some days I wish I had a blunt rolled up on the dresser

Lost my job at Group 1, due to reduction of workforce

    I swear on Rao that I should’ve…

Requested for Keith’s boss to be present that evening

Right there in Mr. Lesson’s office…

Why? Because he was going to feel me!

    Oh well.

    Shit happens.

    Perfect timing

    That’s what I told myself

    Being optimistic, motivating myself

The day after, I’m not gon’ lie y’all:

It was a great mental hurdle

    What I didn’t know was…

That this was all the calm before the storm,

And this ‘storm’ had a name:

    SARS-Cov-2, COVID-19

    Coronavirus.

Invisible, yet more deadly than a hurricane

No strong winds or debris flying around

And yet, the earth, our society, our everyday lives

    Commutated forever irrevocably.

    Irrevocably.

The defining event of our lifetime

But through it all, Jay-STUH (JSTA) is Living Again

Perilously holding on to my golden trident…

    As The Journey forges ahead.

We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.

I think I’ve drenched myself in those sacred waters long enough…

Majestic golden trident in my hand

By the strength of my back

By the sweat of my brow, with an adjusted crown

Out at this glorious sea again

    Making port once again

Putting ike in front of mike,

Out on this treacherous road of life again

    I’m living again.

Years have been added to my life,

    2 chalices.

    All that rum I’ve consumed…

    Still lingering in my bloodstream

It isn’t the big mansion that I’m pursuing anymore…

    I WANT A PALACE!

    I’m wealthy because I’ve invested in people…

King, ruler over all that I survey…

    Trilla.

Because I still see the best in people…

Countless emails from literary agents & agencies

And they all said the same thing…

And to them I say thank you.

It was all nothing but ‘fuel’ to my passion

Pirate Lord of The Gulf & I still reign supreme…

    With or without the ‘cream’,

I’ma still consume my glucose and’ caffeine

And serve the streets this crack literature

My readers & fans are the best ‘fiends’

    They’re screaming, Encore!!

I meant they’re screaming that they want more…

More birds, more raw, no middleman necessary…

    I AM. THE SOURCE.

    Trevian J.

    Jack Tony…

Do I really need to re-introduce myself?

You already know what ‘The Kid’ is all about…

As Jeezy said, "(The) fuck I look like!"

Vol. 3 of The Journey, the culmination of a trilogy

These book reviewers & critics are going to feel me

    My exploits, legendary…

When it comes to that writer’s life,

    I’ve never been a fairy

I write what they are afraid to write.

I publish what they are afraid to publish.

I say what they deem as controversial

My literary ancestor, Charles Bukowski would be so proud

Dr. Maya Angelou & Chad Butler, Sr. looking down from Heaven with a big smile

    The Journey impels

The Daddy Richard, my ‘Black Pearl’ still sails

With or without the culminative book sales

Jack Tony didn’t dive into the game for that

What’s fame good for if a legacy isn’t carved out of that?
