Nature alone is antique, and the oldest art a Mushroom - Thomas Carlyle
Introduction
Mushrooms are incredibly nutritious and have a variety of minerals, vitamins, and beneficial compounds that improve your overall health and wellbeing. From mental to physical health, the benefits offered by mushrooms cannot be overlooked. As a result, medicinal mushrooms have slowly started gaining popularity in recent times.
That said, the medicinal use of mushrooms has been around for a long time and is a long-prevailing tradition across different cultures worldwide. Mushrooms have helped protect humanity's health for hundreds of years. These days, there is a steadily increasing body of scientific evidence that shows the biologically active compounds present in mushrooms offer significant health benefits.
Mushrooms contain some of the most potent and helpful natural medicines known to humans. There are tens of thousands of species of mushrooms, and we are only familiar with about 10% of them.
There are around 270 species of mushrooms believed to have therapeutic properties, and about 100 species are being studied for their health-promoting benefits.
Medicinal mushrooms are among the most priced natural possessions, and they can build and strengthen human health and functioning.
There's a similarity between humans and mushrooms in terms of the pathogens they are exposed to. Fungi have potent antimicrobial defense mechanisms in place to protect themselves from harmful pathogens. Upon consumption of these mushrooms, the highly absorbable medical constituents in them are recognized by the human body and used to strengthen itself from the inside. Did you know that tetracycline, penicillin, and streptomycin are all fungal extracts?
