    COVER ART INTERPRETATION

    The Cross of

    Spiritual Dietary

    Consciousness

    Artist: Amarah Creque

Author’s Vision and Interpretation: Lorrie Peterson

Jesus said, A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also (John 14:19, NKJV). In this verse, Jesus was talking to the disciples about His death, His resurrection, and our abundant life.

There is no other way for me to culminate the many aspects and depictions of this book, Spiritual Dietary Consciousness, than with the image of this exquisite cross that signifies and promotes abundant life.

There are three main aspects to this artwork which corresponds perfectly with the three main aspects and title of this book:

Spiritual is depicted by the cross. Green signifies life, nature, and all things living.

Dietary is depicted by the inner cross image of whole foods just the way God created them.

Consciousness is depicted by the red ribbon of fire and a luminous white dove which represents the awareness of the Holy Spirit.

When you look at this magnificent Cross, which is the hallmark of Spiritual Dietary Consciousness, think about its multidimensional aspects and depictions that signifies and promotes abundant life in general and the more abundant life God has planned and prepared for us. Jesus said, I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (John 10:10, NKJV).

    DEDICATION

From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised.

    Psalm 113:3, NKJV

This book, Spiritual Dietary Consciousness , is dedicated to the One whom I love, trust, believe, obey, and have my being: God, my Heavenly Father.

Thank You, Lord, for Your Word, Your guiding Spirit, Your grace, Your wisdom, Your concept, and Your inspiration to write this book and share it with the world. I am eternally grateful for all that you have done and continue to do in my life. I give You my continual honor and glory because you are worthy to be praised.

This book is also dedicated to all those who are sick and tired of being sick and tired of the foods they consume that are making them sick and tired. I share in your quest for a natural alternative to your food-related pain and suffering while striving for better health and well-being.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

    Exodus 20:12, NKJV

This book would not have been possible without the love, support, and encouragement of my family, friends, loved ones, church, and clients. I am fortunate and extremely blessed.

I give much love and honor to my father, Errol Peterson, and my mother, Cresida McClean Peterson, for their love and for bringing me into this world. My father loved music and was a gifted musician. When he performed with the Harry Lang Band throughout the Virgin Islands and the United States, his instruments of choice were the acoustic and conga drums. When I was four years old, he was laid to rest. Although my memories of him are few, I continue to love and treasure them as I reminisce on the wonderful stories shared about his life.

To my parents, Hubert and Cresida McClean Raimer, who met and married several years later, I sincerely thank you for raising and showering me with your love. Dad, as a documented Vietnam war hero, awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action against a hostile force on March 21, 1968, in the Republic of Vietnam, and a Purple Heart recipient I salute you and thank you for your service. As a retired Veteran and entrepreneur (Raimer’s Cabinet Shop), I am proud and thankful to have traveled in your footsteps. Through you, I’ve learned a lot about patriotism, discipline, and perseverance.

Mom, I am grateful for all that you have taught me, especially about God’s love, generosity, compassion for others, and a zeal for life. You are truly a caring, loving, and remarkable woman, mother and friend.

Mom and dad, your strong foundation, constant support, and belief in God led me to become the person I am today. Thank you.

I know all that you have done and continue to do is a labor of love. From the moment I began to write this book, Spiritual Dietary Consciousness, you were there to encourage and see me through every step of the way, and I am eternally grateful. I love you both very much.

And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

    Matthew 3:16-17 (NKJV)

To my son, Kyle Nelson, you have blessed me with two precious grandsons: Kayston and Bentley. You are a loving and caring son and doting father. Thank you for your love, moral support, and positive encouragement during all my endeavors.

Throughout my Navy career, your favorite saying was, No worries, Mom, no worries. Kyle, you may not have known it at the time, but those words were always a great comfort to me. Whether I was on land or at sea, it gave me great joy to close our conversations by saying interchangeably, I love you more than all the stars in the sky, and you replied, I love you more to the moon and back. My son, you are a blessing to me, and I love you and my grandchildren more than you could ever imagine.

Family is not an important thing; it is everything.

    Michael J. Fox¹

To my siblings, Leon Peterson, Laverne Peterson, Shamba Yehuda Yisreal, Hubert Raimer, Jr., and Raynette Raimer, thank you for your love, encouragement, and support, especially my big brother, Leon. From the moment I wrote my first unpublished children’s book many years ago, you encouraged me to continue writing, and I am so glad I did. I love and adore you all very much.

To my extended family members, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-laws, God sisters, God brothers, God children, friends, and anyone who has encouraged or supported me one way or another throughout this journey. I cherish the love, support, advice, encouragement, and prayers you have all shown along the way. I know that I am truly blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for always being there for me. Much love, appreciation, and respect always.

Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

    John 3:5-6 (NKJV)

To my church family, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, The Cathedral Church of All Saints, visiting churches, Nazareth By the Sea, Frederick Evangelical Lutheran Church, Impacting Your World Ministries, and V.I. Christian Ministries thank you all for your ministry, love, and prayers. You were and continue to be an encouragement and a powerful source of support to me in my faith walk. Thank you, and I appreciate all that you have done and continue to do for me, my family, and the community.

Special thanks and much appreciation to Nya Owusu-Afriyie, Eunice Callwood, Monique D. Carter, Amarah Creque, Ama Dennis, Casmore E’Bas, Irose Payne-Chalon, Shaneel A.
