I promise you this: If you become wholly committed to awakening from the dream you have dreamed since the stars first began to appear in the heavens, and even before that, if your one desire is to be only what God created . . . then lay at the altar of your heart with every breath, everything you think you know, everything you think you need, and look lovingly upon every place that fear has made a home in your mind, and allow correction to come. It will come. Regardless of how you experience it, it will come.

And the day and the moment will arise when all of your pain and fear and suffering will have vanished like a wind that pushes the foam of the wave away, revealing the clarity of the ocean beneath you. You will literally feel throughout your being that there never was a dream. Some memories will remain with you and you will know that somewhere you must’ve dreamed a dream or had a thought of wondering what it would be like to be other than the way God created you, but it will be such a faint echo that it will leave no trace upon you. In your heart you will smile gently, regardless of the circumstances in which you find yourself. There will be peace from the crown of the head to the tips of the toes, so to speak, and that peace will walk before you wherever you go. It will enter a room before you enter it with a body, and those who are becoming sensitive will wonder who has come into their place. And some will even say, Behold, I believe Christ has come for dinner. And you will be that one, for that is who you are—Christ eternal.

~ The Early Years: Choose to See

Study Suggestions from Jeshua

Jeshua has given the following specific suggestions about how to study the recordings and transcripts of these Lessons:

Select a separate ‘Way of’ notebook with a cover that has meaning for you and a pen that you love; use them only for this work. Keep your notebook in a sacred space (such as on your altar, if you have one).

Always settle down, relax, and allow the breath to flow deeply before you start listening to the recordings or reading the transcripts. Ideally, use one of The Way of Mastery Living Practices to attune prior to your study—Love’sBreath, In The Name, or The Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic (more on these items is available in the catalog at the back of this book).

Allow the words to simply land within you, without attempting to understand or retain what you are reading conceptually.

Notice which passages cause feelings to arise within your being.

Make selective notes and identify in your ‘Way of’ notebook those passages which touch your feeling nature.

Later (or on a different day), copy the passages in your notebook that elicited a strong feeling. Write them several times on a separate sheet of paper in a state of innocence and playfulness.

Whenever a question is asked, it is useful to pause and reflect on it before moving on.

Doing the exercises as given is very important. Many of these exercises are the same ones that were given to Jeshua by his Essene elders over 2000 years ago.

Listen to each recording or read the lesson several times in different locations and at different times of the day. Stay with each lesson until you feel complete with it.

When the lessons were first channeled through Jayem, they were given to a group of early students at the rate of one per month, with the intention that each lesson be lived with, practiced, and deeply absorbed for at least thirty days.You will find that the lessons build on one another and continue to teach you well beyond the month that you spend with them as they take you further into your own spiritual awakening.

Forward

I write to you from an odd position. On the one hand, this body and mind has been the conduit through which the extraordinary teachings and actual Presence of Jeshua ben Joseph (Jesus) have graced us all, over 2000 years after His rather famous incarnation. On the other hand, I have never felt to be other than a student of His, a soul opening to be transfigured by His Presence. Indeed, it has been surreal to listen to the original audio recordings of Jeshua teaching and realize that, while it is my voice, how the mind is being used to communicate, and what it is communicating is far beyond ‘me’!

Jeshua first appeared before me out of a field of brilliant golden- white light in July 1987. My initial year of contact with Him is recounted in The Jeshua Letters. In those days, He would customarily wake me at 3:30 a.m., suggesting that ‘a little sleepiness is conducive to the openness needed to allow the seeds of wisdom to seep in beneath the ego’s defenses.’

Then, a light and vibration of deep peace would seem to descend, suffusing me fully. I would then see Him as clear as day, and He would suggest it was time for me to ‘take notes.’ As He communicated, the words’ very vibrations would literally move my hand to scribe them. It was astounding to witness this occurring on the yellow legal pad on my lap while being shocked to know,‘I am not doing this at all!’

While He was present, all He shared seemed lucidly clear to me to be Truth.Yet, as He would depart, I would feel as if my own vibration was ‘dropping,’ returning to my normal sense of self, and as this occurred, doubt and a deeply repressed fear would emerge, at times not so gently!

Frankly, it scared the hell out of me! Why?

I was experiencing the loss of control that horrifies all of us yet is the very hallmark of genuine healing and waking, of enlightenment itself. But I was far, far from understanding just how deep this fundamental fear truly is.

Channeling.The three theistic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all emerged from channeled teachings from a higher source; the Dalai Lama confers with masters of channeling for guidance, too! The Bible is replete with it – the prophets all served as channels for God. Gradually, as I surrendered to Him and the deepest roots of separation and ego were flushed up into my awareness for real healing, I came to realize that channeling is what we are all doing, all the time! What we channel depends entirely on what we are open to being touched by, changed by, and what we most truly value, even if we are unaware of it!

I had a very, very deep fear that somehow, my ego was making all this up, and so I demanded of Him that He prove He is who He says He is. And even though He provided objective proof after proof, it still took me nine years to fully feel the deep root of my own distrust finally give way into acceptance of Him and of my own experience. I remain a believer that skepticism is healthy and necessary; as St. Paul once put it, we are advised to ‘test the Spirits’!

It is important to note that this book is a transcription of live, audio recordings, not of me ‘scribing’ words heard in the mind, which might be later re-written and edited. The material here is, rather, what might be called Jesus Live.

Everything is directly His words, each session originally audio recorded, in one go, and later exactly transcribed – no edits, no rewrites.These are Jeshua’s words, given directly to you, the student. I know this is a radical statement, but it is also very true. How so?

While The Jeshua Letters and The Way of the Servant – the first two foundational books of The Way of Mastery Pathway – were scribed (written as I rested in communion with Him), my communion with Him evolved, and a new phase emerged. After a year or so, when He felt I was ready, Jeshua hinted that He wanted to ‘speak directly to His friends’ (and by the way, everyone open to wisdom, healing, and growth, moved by the deeper call within, is His friend!).

A deeper phase of what might be called ‘direct channeling,’ followed. He would now speak directly through me, and I knew this would mean exposure and surrender beyond all attempts to maintain control! He gave me a simple prayer to do, and as I gently repeated it, a transformation would take place.

I would first feel myself dropping into a deeply meditative space within, mind settling down into silence. Then, a vibration would begin, exquisite, ‘taking’ me into itself as all awareness of self, body, or world receded.That golden-white light would become all, and from it He would emerge, increasing the vibrational suffusion of the light.

I would then feel myself lifting out of my body completely. I could ‘see’ the body beneath me in the chair and the group gathered until I was lifted even higher. As this was occurring, I would see a circle of beings (I called them the ‘white light beings’) around the group. Then, with a kind of "woosh," I was soaring into brilliant colored light at a high speed.

Suddenly, Jeshua would appear before me, saying, All things are now prepared, and we will begin. He then would use the body for communicating His words,‘directly to His friends,’ for however long it would take. The body was filled by His Presence. I had no consciousness of what occurred. My experience was of being in a realm of light and color. As He spoke to his friends, He was simultaneously describing my soul’s journey to me, helping me ‘see’ it. I rarely retained awareness of the specifics but did have a felt sense that ‘deep surgery was occurring in my being, somewhere beyond my awareness.’

The next thing I was aware of would be Him telling me, It is now finished.

Following this, the soaring would reverse itself, and I would become aware of descending and growing ‘heavier’ in vibration until, plop! I ‘landed’ in the body. As many as six hours might have passed of His being present and operating both in, and through, this body and mind.

It would take me as much as half an hour before I could activate any movement or make any sound at all. What I was able to do was notice that the whole body, ‘my’ body (though He has taught us to think of it as ‘the’ body, as it is not what we are) was vibrating at a much higher frequency than ‘normal old me.’

Often, after the crowd had departed, I would walk for hours; I could see through common things like trees and garages, and everything was shining not just in light, but as light! Gradually, this effect would wear off, and boy, would I ever sleep, afterward!

There is much more I could share of this, and the process whereby I came to ‘adapt’ or integrate this profound change, but what matters here is this: these live recordings, transcribed here in The Christ Mind Trilogy (The Way of the Heart, The Way of Transformation and The Way of Knowing), are Jeshua entering into full Presence (while I was completely absent), and communing with his friends via ‘my’ body.

And it was not only in words that He communicated through the body He was ‘borrowing’ for a time! Indeed, on a few occasions, He stood up and walked among those present. Many reported that the body appeared broader of shoulders, and that even the color of the eyes had changed from blue to a dark brown!

The very air near the participants seemed to be filled with a vibration of Love, and those in the room said that He would at times stop and say something directly to one or more of them, clearly addressing their private concerns and questions, without them having voiced their questions, first!

The message of Jeshua’s teachings in The Christ Mind Trilogy is filled with the power and authority that those students experienced in his time 2000 years ago, yet they may not be exactly what most of us have experienced via traditional Christianity. And yet, this message does not oppose the essence of Christianity: forgiveness, the power and reality of Love, the Truth that you are fully loved of your Creator, and that it is essential to ‘love one another.’

What The Way of Mastery Pathway does is consistently and profoundly embrace, yet also go beyond, common interpretations of Christianity, deftly doing away with the limiting theology and dogmatic belief systems that became substitutes for the fullness of His original message to us.

For His original teachings, here restored, rest in the radical insight that ‘you are as I AM,’ that you, dear reader, are the ‘one sent of the Father.’ This reality is not lost, in truth, but you have merely forgotten, felt guilt and fear, and believed that you are other than you really are.

In these teachings, He guides us step by step in the journey not only of recovering these realizations but of unfolding the very nature of the Christ within. He shows us how to increasingly become the living channels of God – who is but Love – opening via our devoted studentship to the potentials of Love, itself.

The Way of the Heart is the first book of The Christ Mind Trilogy, the formal lessons of The Way of Mastery Pathway. It is also the third book of the five core texts, following the foundations Jeshua established in The Jeshua Letters and The Way of the Servant. Each of these is equally important, for they are exactly how He meticulously set about to restore His teachings and build His Pathway.

At no time during their creation, however, did He explain what He was doing. He simply asked that once a month I join with Him and turn on the recorder. Only toward the end of the teachings you now have in your hand did He share that He would be continuing with The Way of Transformation; this was followed by The Way of Knowing. These texts form a powerful set of essential core teachings, yet by no means are they the complete teachings. They comprise three of the five core texts, but the texts are only one part of The Way of Mastery Pathway.

Another aspect of The Pathway is the group of recordings that came from what is known as The Early Years, the gatherings mentioned above that came after the ‘scribed’ texts. From about 1988 until about 1994, Jeshua ‘spoke and walked among’ hundreds of groups around the U.S. This produced hours of brilliant wisdom and guidance all recorded live, and now available for the first time in book form transcribed from the original audio.

Even as Jeshua was bringing forth The Christ Mind Trilogy, He was already immersing me in what would later be called The Living Practices. He first mentioned in The Way of Transformation that ‘initiatory experiences’ would be coming in time – these are The Living Practices.

Two of these practices are Love’sBreath – a transformational breathing practice – and Radical Inquiry – a remarkable process of ‘seeing into the depth of what has run us,’ hidden deep in the mind. As these were developed with Him, I realized that He had already been guiding me through immersion in Love’sBreath for hours a day during the years of the earlier channelings. And you will find, as I did, the seeds of Radical Inquiry in The Christ Mind Trilogy every time He asks a ‘wonder question!’

The Living Practices also have as their core a connection to the Aramaic language that Jeshua spoke, specifically as found in The Aramaic Lord’s Prayer and The Aramaic Beatitudes. The Aramaic Teachings started originally out of what began as an innocent (I thought) question about what we call The Lord’s Prayer. He replied by saying it in His native language of Aramaic (which I do not speak!), and I felt as if every cell was blasted by a powerful Light!

He then suggested:‘recover your ancient knowing within what you have felt.’ Gradually, I came to realize that The Lord’s Prayer is actually a process of what we might call today ‘whole being attunement’ – mind, heart, body, movement, sound, and breath – harmonizing with the movement of the divine as we live our daily lives.

This attunement involves extending forgiveness as a fully felt reality, and a deepening of genuine surrender far beyond an utterance of the mind. It took me many months until I could intone the prayer exactly as He had, in Aramaic, but it is now a beautiful part of The Way of Mastery Living Practices.

Jeshua then began to take me into The Aramaic Beatitudes (the ‘blessed are they’ platitudes found in the New Testament). After years of integrating them in my growing work as a facilitator and teacher, I realized that, once understood with the informed awareness of the Aramaic language translations, The Aramaic Beatitudes are truly the ‘spine’ of the Christ Path. Not only do they deepen the journey of transfiguration within us, they also reveal the very journey each and every soul is actually undertaking.

To say that these two collections of His teachings – The Lord’s Prayer and The Beatitudes – given first to a handful of devoted students ‘in secret,’ have been profoundly misinterpreted over time – and as they have been interpreted in the Bible – is an understatement!

The Way of Mastery Living Practices also include the ‘In The Name’ prayer – a prayer and meditation – Aramaic chanting, ‘Shalu’ (Aramaic for a guided attunement process), and more. Together, The Living Practices form a major, essential, and remarkable aspect of The Way of Mastery Pathway.

Indeed, Jeshua actually hinted at all of these developments near the end of The Way of Knowing: "…as we enter into these last days of this Way of Knowing, we have come in this hour to share with you that we do not so much come to a culmination, or an end, but to a springboard for what shall be." Yowza! He knew exactly where He was taking the Pathway from the very beginning!

Dear reader, there are no accidents in creation. That you now hold these transcribed words from Him can only mean this: you are ready, and you must have been in some way sending out the call for greater understanding, healing, and peace as your very soul longs to become increasingly the channel for Love, itself, and for the creative ways it waits to move you! Could it be that what you have been longing for has been longing for you?

Lastly, don’t be in a hurry! Learn to breathe, soften, and slow down! Whenever Jeshua asks a question, pause, hear it, breathe, and be curious. Let the question reveal what is perhaps hidden in the mind, to surface. And each time He offers a practice, why not give yourself to it before continuing? We all have a habit of ‘racing ahead,’ attempting to ‘gather information in the mind.’This is, after all, what passes as ‘education’ in our world. But real education means ‘to be led out of,’ to be transformed.

Far better than grasping for information is allowing His teachings – His expert use of what I call ‘wonder questions’ – and the stepping stones of the practices He gives from His own mastery to ‘work on us,’ to steep within us like a tea bag! It is the depth to which they work within us that is far more important than the speed with which we (think) we get through the pages.

In fact, originally each audio in The Christ Mind Trilogy was given to be immersed in for at least thirty days. Yet, even this is just a beginning.There is an infinite depth of power transmitted by Him through these teachings as the soul flowers, grows, and becomes our true Identity, even as we recover the far more cosmic dimensions of our true being.

As these teachings dissolve the roots of our fears, make clear the patterns and strategies of what He calls ‘ego’ (a product of root fear itself), and awaken in us our Love of God, our devotion to ‘ceaseless unfolding’ is inevitable! Are we willing to allow Love to dissolve all the barriers we have built against it, truly?

Dare we come to accept that each of us is a spark of that Light we call ‘Christ,’ just waiting to flower not out of this world but into it, so that Love can finally bring heaven to earth through us?

Only you can answer that question. But what is certain is that His ‘Way’ is now in your hands. Let yourself get to know Him beyond all preconceived ideas, and beyond the limiting confines of a merely conventional theology about Him! He asks only that we let him be our brother and friend ‘on the way that you would choose.’ Speaking from humble experience, He is one of infinite patience, and immovable Love.

As I write to you, over 30 years have passed since that first encounter with Him!

What has unfolded within me through surrender to His Pathway – as His student, first and foremost – has also involved my gradual emergence as a capable teacher and facilitator, yet all I can feel is… humbled and blessed. He has delivered me from the guilt and pain of primordial separation, and I am amazed at all that has come to pass.

The greatest of blessings has been three decades of encountering folks like you from all over the world, beings courageous enough to open to being profoundly changed as they come to ‘take up their rightful place,’ caring more for extending Love than being loved and for being led by visions of possibilities rather than the constraints of the past that are born of fearful thinking and false self-identities.

May you open and receive all He has to give you. He gives because He sees who you really are and wants only for you to fully realize it so God can ‘give all of Itself to the one It loves:YOU!’

Lesson One

Now, we begin.

And indeed, once again, greetings unto you, beloved and holy friends. I come forth in this hour, yet again, to abide with you where you believe yourself to be. For in Truth, if it were not for the fact that you are choosing to turn your attention to the world of physicality through the vehicle of the body, our communication would not require the device of what you might call channeling, nor the devices of the technologies of this world in which to record and capture spoken words that are themselves but the reflection of what the words would point your mind toward.

Therefore, beloved friends, I come not for myself, but for you. I come not to teach you, but to love you, until you choose, from the depth within your own being, to set aside every illusion you have ever given credence to, and to remember the Truth which alone is true. For indeed, in that hour, there is a transcendence of all that knows limitation. There is a transcendence of all that knows coming and going, birth and death. There is but the Mind of Christ within which each of us, as a spark of Divine Light, as a sunbeam to the sun, rests eternally in perfect communion and communication, always. Now of course, the great secret is that, that is the state of your reality. That in each and every moment, you abide in perfect communion with the whole of creation, since all things are but temporary modifications of the one fundamental energy which I have chosen to call the Christ Mind, the offspring of the Father.

And so, beloved friends, I come to where you choose to be. And if you would choose to open that place within the heart and within the mind in which you can communicate with me directly, I will meet you there as well.

What is important, then, by way of our beginning, is to consider the simple fact that your experience is always the effect of where you choose to focus the attention of your consciousness, its Self being unlimited forever, embracing all the many dimensions of creation. You abide in that which embraces all things, in all ways, and at all times. And in Truth, you do not know separation, birth or death, gain or loss.

In this hour, as you have taken the tape from its envelope and put it into your machinery, recognize how you, as an infinite being, have deliberately chosen to participate in a form of experience. You have, therefore, called to yourself the sensory apparatus of the body through which to filter the energies of this physical domain, that you might hear vibrations against vocal chords that create words that carry certain meanings for each and every one of you. And each and every one of you will color that meaning according — according — to the perceptions that you have chosen to place value upon.

Does this mean that some are ahead and some behind? It only seems that way. In reality, each of you is equal; each of you, choosing from your infinite freedom to attract to yourself certain vibrational frequencies, if you will — certain forms or qualities of experience. That freedom is what you abide in always, from before the foundations of this world, and long after this world ceases to be. In each and every moment, then, you cannot be a victim of what you see, and nothing is outside of you. What you experience you have directly and deliberately called to yourself. And if you hold the thought that, Well, I don’t like what I’ve called to myself, that’s perfectly okay, too. For then, you have called to yourself the experience of being in judgment of yourself. Merely look with the wonder of a child and see what it feels like and ask yourself,

Is this an energy I wish to continue in, or would I choose something else?

For ultimately, when all possible choices within the dream of separation have been made, have been tasted, have been felt, have been known, then finally there emerges the still, quiet Voice of Spirit that speaks through the soul — and we’ll come back to that — whispering of the one Truth and the one reality, the one Love, the one peace, the one bliss that is continual.

Then, the soul begins to turn from the things of this created world. It begins to withdraw its attention, as it were, from its attachments to all of the things it has called to itself. It begins to transcend its sense of identification with the vibrational frequencies it had only meant to play with, and then took seriously. For it is seriousness within the mind which is the creation of ego, and it is great seriousness that holds the vibrations of what you would no longer experience within the field of your being, within the field of your soul.

And as you, as the soul — the individual divine spark — begins to choose to withdraw the attention, to withdraw the value you have placed upon all things, and as you learn to simplify the nature of your own consciousness, as you begin to realize that you can surrender into something that seems beyond you, that you can entertain the insane thought of trusting the invisible, you come more and more to be less and less. And as you become less and less of what you thought you were, conversely, you become more and more of what your Father created you to be — the Thought of Perfect Love in form, a channel, a simple vehicle through which that Love of Spirit can shine forth. And your only task becomes the cleaning of your windows, the polishing of your floors, the weeding of your garden, so that that Light can pour forth unimpeded.

No longer will you find the need to defend perceptions you had identified with in error. And you will, indeed, know when you have come to that state of awakening, for you will be able to look upon all created things that you have ever experienced, all reactions you have ever held within the mind, all perceptions, all judgments, all desires that you have ever held for anyone or anything, and as they arise in
