A Call for Help
It was a sunny, early morning in Fairy-Joy Land, when Isabelle heard the call for help come from the Bee Nation on Planet Earth:
We are here on Earth, and we are being poisoned by the pesticide- and herbicide- infused, and genetically-engineered, pollen. SOS—Save Our Stripes. And also the True Humans, as they are called, depend on us for their food to grow. I am Ben the Bee, asking for assistance.
The girl fairy, dressed in a rose-petal shift and covered in sparkly dew-drop jewelry, was dreaming in her spider-web hammock hanging among the vibrant yellow blossoms of a forsythia bush. She saw a vision of many bee hives around the world disintegrating. Bees were collecting pollen from corn tassels that vibrated with death energy. Soon after, some bees dropped to the ground. Others made it to the hives, where the pollen caused sickness and death.
This is terrible!
Isabelle heard herself cry out. Awaking, she listened to the soothing, cheery song of the small stream that ran by her hammock. She heard the whoosh of wings of her other fairy friends, as they tended to the stream and its inhabitants in Fairy-Joy Land. Courage and confidence returned. She wondered whether her friend Donya was up.
Donya, a boy fairy, Isabelle’s adventure companion and best friend, was just waking from his dream. He was sprawled across a nice bed of moss, which he had discovered at the foot of a tall oak tree buddy named Manny. Into Donya’s sleep flew a bee,
Who are you, and why have you entered my dream-space?
Donya asked.
I am a bee from Planet Earth, and my name is Ben.
He circled around and chanted, SOS. SOS. The bees are dying. The pollen is poisoned with chemicals, and the genetic code of the plants has been modified so that they no longer are nourishing to All Life. Earth Mother’s skin, the soil, is cracked and dead. If we cannot pollinate the plants, not enough plants will grow to feed the animals and the humans. Life on Mother Earth will cease as we know it. The humans won’t have food.
I’ll help you, Ben the Bee.
Startling himself fully awake as he spoke out loud, Donya looked around. Whoa. Manny, you’ll never guess who came into my dream-space.
Manny rustled his leaves and rumbled deep within his trunk,
Was it Ben the Bee?
Right, Manny. Why do I forget that you always read my thoughts? Ben was circling around, buzzing frantically, and saying something about bees dying from poison plants and pollen, and without bees to help pollination, there won’t be enough food for animals or humans.
A buzzing sound entered Donya’s ear. Look. It’s Ben’s Spirit-Body flying right in front of me! This is urgent!
Although it was early morning, Donya thought of his fairy friend Isabelle,
