Mission Impossible
without God?
Your mission or calling is something like joining the military for the first time. You get your orders while full of excitement, and you start looking at where you are going, and you feel like: I got this!
Well, no you don’t. They will tell you just what you are going to do and give you an option as to where you will serve. You will learn to follow instructions. On our path, we must also learn to follow the instructions of the Holy Spirit that we receive once we accepted Jesus Christ. In the military, you have no choice of how your plan for the day will be. It would be helpful if we could realize that this is the way we ought to think about our instructions from the Holy Spirit.
Yes, we started running with the vision so much that we would make it happen if we could. We ran so hard that we left off seeking God about it. We forgot to wait on God for the manifestation of what He promised us. We are so worried with what the outcome would be, that we sometimes forget who we need on the journey. We work things in our mind when we should be spending time meditating on the word of God. Sometimes, we become so distracted and even stop singing songs to the Lord because our focus is on a project, and we think that is the only important thing to do. Thus, becoming a stranger to God, being more concerned with the gift than the giver of the gift. This is a trap of the devil, set for you once the Lord shows you your destiny, and the plans that God has for your life. We get so excited about the destiny not knowing that the trial of your faith through the journey is also beginning once you get your calling.
The enemy goes into opposition against you, and you become a target. Even as a child, the devil will try to mess you up, so you don’t have the confidence to do the will of God for your life. You are on the hit list of the devil. In Christ Jesus, you must be a viable opponent, even resilient, which means able to recover easily and quickly from unpleasant or damaging events. Going through trials and temptation is a part of preparing you for your destiny, the calling on your life.
