James Brendan Patterson, Jr. is a prolific American author best known for his thriller and suspense novels. Among his many works are the Alex Cross, Michael Bennett, Women's Murder Club, Maximum Ride, Daniel X, NYPD Red, Witch and Wizard, and Private series, several standalone thrillers, non-fiction books, and romance novels. His novels have sold an estimated 400 million copies worldwide, and he was the first individual to sell one million ebooks. Patterson topped Forbes' list of highest-paid writers for the third year in a row in 2016, earning $95 million.
