About this ebook

How far would you go for your happily ever after?

The fairy godmother Amelie has a secret. She's in love with Cinderella's prince - so in love, she'd give up her powers to be with him.

Amelie also has a plan. Kick Cinderella out of her own fairytale and snag the prince for herself.

But the fairy godmother doesn't realize she may not be the only one with a plot - and sometimes, fairytales bite back.

    The Other Cinderella

The carriage careened around the bend in the road, and the echo of the horses’ hooves thundered in my ears. I reached out to steady myself, trying to soothe the frantic pounding of my human heart. Though I raced towards my dream, I felt dogged by nightmares. Beyond the carriage window, night fell like a shroud of soft black feathers, and the sliver of moon did little to lighten the gloom.

A shout pierced the air. The horses shrieked before the carriage lurched to a stop. I toppled forward and caught myself against the opposite seat. Wood creaked; Jacques, the driver, dismounted from his bench. His voice was low and urgent as he commiserated with someone outside.

I sank back into the plush, crimson cushions. Of its own accord, my hand reached into the flowing sleeve of my gown for the familiar weapon I always carried. But my fingers closed around empty air.

No wand sat snug in my sleeve, waiting to be called upon. I had no magic to protect myself.
