A SYSTEM OF STARLIGHT includes three tales inspired by myth and magic.
The collection begins with “The Starry Messenger”, in which a shy librarian embarks on a magical journey to return a hidden treasure upon meeting a mysterious stranger.
In “The House of Basilisk and Butterfly”, an alchemist with a mystical secret searches for answers in the forbidden abode of an ancient and powerful magician.
Lastly in “Lost Avalon”, an heir returns to his childhood home to resolve his fate at the hands of his family's cryptic ancestry.
Alexandra Mejia
Alexandra is a game writer who specializes in scenario writing for fantasy, psychological, romance, and simulation games. She currently studies Creative Writing at Full Sail University for a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing for Entertainment. She served as a scenario writer and lead environmental artist on the side-scrolling adventure game, MORDLEY GREG, P.I., with the independent game development team, Bonemeal. Her poems have been published in the anthology, CELEBRATE! YOUNG POETS SPEAK OUT in their Summer 2006 and Spring 2007 editions as a top ten finalist, and is also a member of the Independent Game Developers Association. Beyond her work in games, Alexandra is an award-winning seamstress and creative costume designer, and enjoys experimenting with various forms of art and media to refine the visual storytelling experience in her work.

We create systems in our worlds each and every day. At times, we become afraid of transforming these systems to sustain them for the future. We may be afraid of using our voices, wits, and intelligences to challenge them to evolve. Should we challenge them, we might come to appreciate our miraculous abilities to change the world.
This collection is inspired by the evolution of fantasy, and the openness to embrace change with wonder, majesty, even in the fear of ambivalence towards the unknown.
