Dedications
This book is dedicated to my dad, Dr. G. Topjian who instilled in me an excellent understanding of money and finances from a young age.
I pray that this book goes a long way in helping each person who picks it up learn and know more about their finances in an effort to get them on their way to a healthy or healthier financial future.
Finally, thank you for picking up this book.
Introduction
Money.
We all have a relationship with it.
Some have a great relationship with it, while others don’t. Having a great relationship with money means that you understand your income and expenses, you know and have consistent income to cover your expenses and then some, that you know exactly what is happening with your investments and generally, that you are fairly financially literate. Is this an exhaustive list to have a great relationship with your money? No, but it’s a great place to start.
If you identify yourself as one who doesn’t have a great relationship with it, consider this your invitation to start building a great relationship with it.
Why? Because we all need a certain amount of money to live and to support ourselves (but I’m guessing that since you’ve picked up this book to read or at least to peruse, that you already know that). :)
No matter how old or how young we are, we all have a relationship with money and we all need some money, if not for luxuries, then we need it for basic food, shelter, clothing and other basic needs (think Maslow’s hierarchy of needs).
The best way to have the most solid relationship with money is to understand money and how it works. And turning to the wisest written source of all is also very important. Turn to the Bible to teach you what you need to know about money.
Money is an energy. You can bring more of it into your life by following specific steps and actions or you can cause it to leave your pocket or your bank account quite quickly never to return if you don’t understand how it works.
This book is intended to teach you how money works and how you can increase your chances of keeping that lovely paper in your wallet, bank account or pocket for longer and by increasing the amount you already have in there.
This book goes a step further than other books in that it explains Biblical concepts and tools for acquiring, working for, bringing money into your life and how to protect the money you have while also making sure to increase the amount of money you have.
To begin with, there is a mindset we need to take off the table: money is not hard or impossible to get. Money is just like anything else - it needs to be worked on, it needs to be respected for what it can do for people and at the same time, we need to avoid the unnatural love of money. I will explain that last point further: money can do some wonderful good in the world but it can also do lots of bad. Examples of bad include such things as purchasing drugs, using it for unlawful uses, using it to bilk people out of their savings, using it for human and sex trafficking and such. Money can be used for those things but certainly shouldn’t be.
This book will teach you to have a great relationship with your money and to do lots of good with it. In order to do that, I have provided you with reflection activities, concepts and time to step
