Ragan
I don’t see Lochlan when I walk to the front door, thank God. He’s kind of overwhelming sometimes when he’s not stuffing his dick in me. So, before I find Willow, I need to get my shit together.
I’m passing the kitchen and dining area when I hear a door shut. I turn to see Gabe drinking bottled water like his life depends on it. As if he feels my eyes, he turns and catches me.
He brings the now empty bottle down and lifts a brow. Can’t believe she really got you to wear a witches costume.
Fat lot you know.
He snorts, rolling his eyes. Couldn’t say no, could you?
I shrug, not admitting anything. He only laughs, opening the fridge once more. My girl’s pretty irresistible, I’ll admit.
He takes out four waters and walks to the island, where a small ice box sits. Here.
He shoves the waters into the ice and brings it to me. This is for you two as you pass out candy. We’ll be starting the grill about half last six. The movie starts at nine.
Wait, we’re passing our candy until nine?
Oh, I don’t know about that. That’s hours outside. While the weather isn’t all bad, I’m not about to be outside for five hours. Mosquitoes will eat me alive. I’m a ‘squito magnet.
"No. I told Willow when dinner’s ready, we’ll bring the candy inside, and let them come to the door and ring the bell. Don’t worry, Snow, I got her well in hand."
I roll my eyes, because I’m sure it’s pretty much the opposite. You’re an idiot. But yeah, I guess she is pretty irresistible. Her boobs are nice.
I know. Wait. How do you know?
Gabe looks disgruntled as if no one else is supposed to know. He’s such a doofus.
Because when she hugs me, my face gets smashed by her jugs, douchebag. Calm down, though. You look like you’re ready to fight me.
He almost does, as if he’s jealous. He rolls his eyes before holding out the ice box for me to take. You’re fucking hilarious, Snow. Now, be a good girl and go outside and sit with my girlfriend, so the kids don’t attack her for candy. I expect you to be the candy police. Only a few pieces per customer.
Taking the handle, I give him a droll side eye as I turn to the front door. Candy police? He’s so dumb. I plan on giving these kids a handful of candy, so we can get rid of it all. The sooner, the better.
I hear him fluttering around in the kitchen and the front door opening. Thankfully, the little conversation I had with the prince, calmed down my racing heart. Hopefully, I don’t see Lochlan for a little bit. What we just did, was super intense. Seriously hot, but intense never the less.
Relief sweeps over me when instead, I see Willow sitting beneath the big ass skeleton decoration— that she made Gabe buy —although I’m sure he was happy to buy whatever she wanted, sucker— in an outdoor rocker, a four gallon tub, full of candy next to her and another rocker next to that, empty. I guess that’s for me.
I hear laughter all up and down the street as I walk around to the front and see Willow, doing her best not to look at me, but there’s a big, wide smile plastered on her face.
So… took you awhile to come down. Almost thought you hated the outfit.
Yeah, right. Big liar. She knew exactly what this silly witch’s outfit was going to do. And it did grab the big dumb dom’s attention. Thoroughly.
Pleasantly. Deliciously. Devouringly.
You’re a total bitch, Willow.
She mock-gasps as she turns to me, pressing a hand to her chest, but she retorts, Of course, I’m a witch! It’s Halloween. Perfect time to dress up.
You know that’s not what I called you.
I heard you perfectly, Ragan. You’re dressed up like one too.
If she thinks those innocent little smiles and feigning ignorance is going to get her out of trouble, she’s dead wrong.
You’re a troublemaker, Willow Claire.
Her hands fly to her cheeks, Me? No way!
Her hands fall to her lap, and she gives me a long once over. You look amazing, Ragan.
With a roll of my eyes, I mutter, Whatever, Willow.
She bites her lip, trying to hold in her giggling, but fails. Dammit. Why can’t I stay mad at her? The stupid prince was right. She is irresistible.
The fact remains though, she didn’t tell me the truth about the douchebag working late. For your information, Lochlan is not working late. He knew earlier about his father moving the meeting to tomorrow.
He’s not?
I hook my thumb over my shoulder, pointing to Lochlan’s massive truck next to Gabe’s. Really? That tank behind us didn’t clue you in? I know you know that’s his truck.
Hmmm… didn’t really think about it. Gabriel kind of distracted me after I came down and he saw me all dressed up.
Yeah, I’m sure just as Lochlan did when he yanked me into his room.
Yeah, I saw when—,
she stops, and my head whips to the side as heat rushes up my face. It was her and Gabe who walked by. Should’ve known. The only room on that side of the house is Gabe’s. Go figure. Why, why can’t he ever shut his door? He’s disgusting.
I’m going to kill Lochlan.
She giggles, saying, We only really saw Lochlan. And well, Gabriel pretty much blocked my view since it was his backside. Just called him a pig and then lifted me up and rushed to his room where we… you know.
Her face gets all red.
Awe, that’s so cute. You still blush after fucking your douchebag.
She turns, giving me a droll look, but it’s quickly replaced by a set of girly giggles. Maybe, but at least you don’t see me drooling after mine long afterwards.
Just get ready to pass out some candy, Mrs. Prince, here comes some kids.
Me? Drooling? She’s out of her mind. I hear the garage door open. After Willow greets a group of kids, and passes out candy, we both turn towards the garage, hearing masculine laughter as we watch Lochlan and Gabe pull out the grill. Lock looks… so good. His jeans fit snugly around his backside and he’s wearing a shirt that does the same. He’s wearing flip flops. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him barefoot before. He looks completely relaxed.
As if he feels my stare, he turns, his gaze roams over me possessively and I feel it all the way to my toes. That alpha-male, possessive glance that melts everything inside me. And making me cream between my legs. See? He’s such a disgusting perv. I don’t’ want to get all hot in front of kids. He’s annoying.
See? Drool.
I jerk my head back to her, see her eyes on the guys or probably Gabe. I see the possessive way her gaze lingers on him and I roll my eyes. I’m over it.
Why don’t you go over there and pee on him? Mark your territory.
She laughs, turning back to me. No peeing necessary. I licked him, so he’s mine. I’ll fight any dumb bitch who tries to get close.
Her voice gets a little too animated and yeah, she’s totally douchebagilized. She’s conformed into their little club as Gabe’s bish.
You’re kind of vicious, you know that?
Yup! I love him. He’s great.
Yeah. Sure he is.
I thoroughly ignore him as time goes by. Dozens of kids and their parents have stopped by the house, who finally opened their doors so to speak to strangers. The four bachelors are set up for Halloween. The wives couldn’t be more excited— I mean, Judas and Duncan have come outside, so all four of them are around the grill, shooting the shit— and every single woman who passed, look at them like they’re the best thing to sliced bread. Probably looking at Judas and wondering if he’ll be back in their marital bed. Stupid sluts.
All the kids are amazed by the great candy we’re passing out. It’s nearing six o’clock and the smell of barbecue wafts over us, and I don’t know about Willow, but I’m starting to get famished.
I just threw some candy into a kid’s pumpkin container when I glance to the sidewalk and see a mother kneeling down and talking with her child. He’s shifting back and forth as if he’s super nervous and the look of anxiety on his face strikes a chord in my chest. I see the blue pumpkin basket and I know exactly what his struggle is.
Taking child psychology is pretty useful, I guess. Our professor had been talking about the different ranges on the autism spectrum and was telling us about his daughter, who’s autistic, picking out a blue basket, signifying she’s autistic. That it’s to help people to be patient and let them come to us. I can see the mother is upset for her child and the boy is just shifting side to side, scared as all get out.
Something comes over me and I stand up, grab my leather jacket and start dumping all different kinds of candy inside. I feel eyes on me, but I don’t concern myself with that. I remember asking my parents to take me trick or treating and they never did. When I moved here, I was too old to do it, so I’ve never had the chance. I don’t know what being autistic is, and I’m thankful, but every kid deserves to have a good time on Halloween.
I hope, by going to him, it’ll show him it’s okay to be nervous and shy and even a little anxious. That he’s brave for deciding to come out and give it a shot.
I lift up my jacket full of goodies and begin the trek to where they’re both standing.
It’s okay, Austin. You’re so brave for wanting to try. We can try again next year.
The boy began tearing up, looked past his mom and met my gaze. Light blue eyes, a little red from crying, go wide when they see me.
I stop, my heart beginning to race just a little as I wait patiently by the sidewalk, letting him chose whether or not he wants to come to me for some treats. I hold out my jacket, in offering, showing him all the different kinds of goodies. His mother turns and gasps. I’m so sorry. He—
No need to apologize,
then to the little boy, I try my best to chose my words wisely. You have time. All the time in the world. Any of them you choose will be great. Or have them all! It’s totally up to you. You have the power, my friend.
His eyes widen, as if he’s taking the moment to let my words sink in. When his eyes fall to the assortment of goods, he tilts his head and bites his lip.
I plop on the ground, and open my jacket wider to reveal everything.
Then he says, I’m allergic to peanuts.
I go through the candy, tossing all the peanut candy behind me, not caring if it gets dirty, making Austin laugh.
Then, he takes a small step to me, sits down Indian style and after twenty minutes of him choosing the few pieces he wants, he stands up, a little blush stealing his cheeks.
His mother looks on with pride. Thank you, Miss. Mount.
Her knowledge of me surprises me. You know who I am?
Her smile is kind when she nods. "Yes. I work at your grandmother’s company, Mount Ink Publishing Press. She doesn’t talk about you much but when she does—
I’m sure it’s not in a favorable light.
The lady’s eyes widen, but she doesn’t disagree. Well, she’s wrong. You’ve grown up to be a beautiful, kind, young woman. Thank you for your kindness to Austin. No one outside of his teachers and family give him the time to decide for himself. Hope you have a good evening. Come along, honey, let’s see if we can go to another house.
They start walking away when I bundle up the rest of the candy, and I’m taken by surprise when I hear the mother’s voice calling out for her son.
Austin!
I look up to find the boy barely a foot away. You’re super pretty.
Then he takes it one step further by leaning in and kissing my cheek before giggling and running back to his mother.
Wow. Pretty sweet kid. I hope no one teases him, or I might just have to stir up some trouble.
Oh, dear God. What am I even saying? I will probably never see them again. I get up in a huff, grab the candy I threw behind me and make my way back to where Willow is giving me a wide, full of pride, smile and when I plop down, she opens her mouth and I raise my hand.
Don’t.
She sighs, rolls her eyes but then looks behind us to where the guys are grilling and ribbing at each other.
Hey, Lock!
He stops turning over food, when he glances at me, winks and sets his gaze on Willow.
What is it, Willow?
Looks like you got some heavy competition!
He looks beyond us to where Austin and his mother are walking to the next house, but the boy is looking behind him, right at me with a smile. I wave and he jerks back around, shyness taking over once more.
Hmmm… I might be able to take him.
I hear him, and I roll my eyes, lift my hand and flip Lochlan off. Doofus number two. He laughs at my response and continues rolling the chicken he’s cooking over as if he’s used to my abrasive attitude. I guess he is.
Which means only one thing.
Trouble. Trouble with a capital T.

Ragan
Not even an hour later, even though it got cooler, I’m starting to get hot. I take off my leather jacket and just as I let it drop to the chair, a strong arm wraps around my front, over my chest.
"How’s it going, princess? You’re not planning on trading me in for some hot shot kid, are you? We’ve only barely begun, honey."
I jump, but keep my emotions under wraps. "Well, anyone is better than you."
He laughs, his full body laugh and it sends a tingle down my spine. Well, can he bring you this?
His other hand comes around and in my line of sight, is a frozen margarita, salted with a lime. My eyes light up, but as I reach for it, he pulls it away and slides his hand up to my neck, pressing enough to make me glance up at him.
Kiss me. I’m feeling a little emasculated.
Snorting, I give him a bored look. By a kid? Well, he was pretty cool.
His beard grazes my jawline and it takes everything not to melt under the abrasive scratching. His lips are warm against my ear as he whispers, Watching you be so sweet to Austin, and seeing how well you handled the situation— damn, Ragan. You never cease to amaze me. Glad you’re mine.
Lochlan!
I whisper-yell, not really liking the possessiveness in his voice, but I do kind of want that margarita. I quickly kiss his cheek, making his eyes widen and I take my chance, snatching the little cup of alcohol out of his hand.
You bad, bad girl.
He kisses the side of my neck, making my legs squeeze together. He lowers his voice and whispers, Daddy’s going to ruin you so thoroughly, you won’t ever think of another man again.
You’re an idiot. He’s a kid. Besides, you take up a lot of space.
Fuck.
Can’t believe I just said that, but it’s true. No guy compares. When Lochlan hums, he begins nuzzling into my neck, tickling my skin. When his teeth take hold of my ear lobe, I’m pretty much done for. I hold in a moan, so he doesn’t see me about to lose it.
Get yourself under control, dummy.
"Daddy’s sweet princess. You deserve a good, hard treat later."
He kisses my temple and suddenly the air shifts as he withdraws, and I’m able to breathe deep once more.
That’s the effect Lochlan has over my equilibrium. I bring the drink up and take a long sip from the straw.
Mmmm. Perfect.
I don’t drink much, but since I was about nineteen, these babies have been my favorite whenever I did go to frat parties. One thing about those boys, they all know how to make mixed drinks. Not that I should be drinking, since I’m still only twenty, but the campus allows it as long as no one drinks and drives. Uber is everyone’s best friend if they don’t have a DD. Designated driver.
How he knows I love frozen ritas, I have no idea. Probably Duncan and his creepin’, stalkin’ ass. If there’s a secret Lochlan wants to know about me, and he wants it known on the sly, Duncan is his number one guy to get the information. Little shit.
O’well. I’m not going to complain as I take another sip and happily pass out candy for another hour before the sun starts setting over the horizon.
You doing okay over there, Ragan?
Mmmm… how lovely. I’m definitely feeling the alcohol, since Lochlan refilled my cup again. Great. How many of these have I had?
Yup.
I hear the grass crunch behind us and see both guys walking to us.
Alright, girls. Dinner’s ready.
Gabe says as he stands behind Willow, his hands falling to her shoulders, watching as she passes out some candy to a little girl, who blushes when she sees Gabe.
Or maybe it’s just me and the alcohol making me see things. Shit. How many have I had? I look to the drink slot and only see one. But no… I know I had more. That’s when a warm hand slides around the back of my neck, and gently squeezes.
Doing alright, honey?
I feel nice and warm and maybe a little hazy. How many of these have I had?
In my peripherals, I see him squatting down next to me and there’s mischief in his gaze.
You had three, princess. Now it’s time to eat, so the food can soak all that alcohol up and you’ll be perfectly set to watch the movie Willow picked out.
His hand slides to my cheek and dammit, I muzzle into it, the warmth of his skin seeping into my skin. Feels like heaven.
You did this to me on purpose, asshole.
His chuckle is warm and sensual as it coasts over my cheeks. I feel flush all of a sudden. Oh, God. I’m turning into an idiot. What’s he done to me?
Oh, honey.
I feel
