Hello. I’m Evangelist Gary P. Laird. I wrote this book hoping the messages within its pages will not only touch the hearts of people in need, but that the cartoons will bring a smile to your face.

I have struggled most of my life to know the presence of God. And tried so hard to not only know God, but to know His healing power is in the believer. The Bible tells us, God’s spirit is in each of us and His awesome healing power is available to those who seek it. Not only can His Holy Spirit heal physical conditions, but heals the problems of life. Any issue you may be confronted with, God’s Spirit will give you the strength and the inner power to resolve whatever you face in life. What we have to do is go to Him in prayer. Focus on the Lord and not your problems. Always be aware He is with you. Christ tells us. He will never leave us.

Belief is the most important part of receiving. If you don’t believe He exists, you won’t go to Him. The Creator is waiting for us to seek Him for our needs. No matter what they are, He is there for us.

How can I say this? I can because God’s only Son, Jesus Christ, made a blood covenant with the Father for us. This is a very serious thing to do. By making a blood covenant, you are saying you will die (give your life) for those; you are in covenant with, I am here to tell you I have been healed by God’s awesome power. Before going on, let me mention the cartoon on the next page was created and drawn by myself. One is put now and then, hoping they will bring a smile to your face while teaching The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Please enjoy the humor. The creation of It’s Gospel strip and book are from God. I prayed for the Lord to help me use whatever talent given me for cartooning and allow me to combine cartooning with the messages of His word. In these pages I am sharing what the bible tells me when reading its teachings. I don’t claim to be a biblical scholar, am just revealing what the Holy Spirit tells me.

This is what He has told me to do. Praise God!

I start with a message of belief and healing. I give you some of my own experiences with both. Life is full of troubling issues that make it so important to have continued faith in the Creator! At times, He seems not to exist, but then we fall bemoaning to our knees asking for His help, and suddenly help arrives in some fashion. Christ teaches we have hope. Hope for a markedly better life on earth and hope for a more glorious life after we leave this world. The Bible tells us when we leave this body, we will go to a heavenly place. Praise God!

Now let me get back to healing. Throughout the holy Bible, God shows His power of healing and His need to punish, as most loving fathers do.

Let me start with 2 Kings 20. Here, the prophet Isaiah told Hezekiah to put his house in order because he was going to die. He would not recover from his illness. Hezekiah, in turn, faced the wall to pray to the Lord. He prayed a prayer of remembrance, stating how he had walked with God, and how he was faithful to Him in all that he did. He asked for a healing and a longer life. The Bible tells us God heard Hezekiah’s prayer and granted him fifteen more years. I might mention here Hezekiah wept with sincerity. Unless we humble ourselves and submit to God, our prayers might not be answered. It takes humility, and sincerity, to receive the blessings of God.

I was having a problem with my right knee. It pained me when going up steps and hurt worse when descending them. This was an issue with my knee for at least six months. It was getting worse. The antidote: I prayed and prayed for my knee to be healed by God. No answer received. Prayers were continued. Still no answer. Then one night, with a heavy dose of pain, I shouted out in tears to the Lord to please heal my knee. He was told I wanted Him to heal my knee, not a doctor to give me painkillers, or have an operation. The answer came to me.

The Lord told me to put my hand over my knee and focus my mind there. God told me to see His healing energy healing the area of my knee. He wanted me to see a healing light fill that area. Almost at once, the pain left. When trying to go up and down steps, the pain left by eighty percent. With continued exercise a few more times. The pain dissipated by ninety-five percent. This happened within minutes.

A more recent miracle healing happened at my church when the brothers of our men’s breakfast group prayed over me. The problem with my back lived with me for fifty years. After the fourth time of prayer with the laying on of hands, my back popped with pain no more. Praise God. I will admit the lack of pain only lasted for four months, then back issues returned. So did my lust. This may have been the reason for the continuance of my back issues?

If God is in us, and I believe He is, then His healing power is available. The Bible teaches God lives in the believer. When we, as believers, walk with God every day, His power will manifest itself within us.

His power is only available through belief. He cannot bless us if you do not believe in Him or His willingness to heal. The only way we can know the Lord is through belief. This is where it starts. We then must continue getting to know our Lord by studying His word every day and having a prayer life. Praying from day to day.

In Isaiah 19:22, Isaiah prophesies that the Lord will strike Egypt with a plague. He will strike them and heal them. They will turn to the Lord, and He will respond to their pleas and heal them. In this fashion, The Lord uses a plague to wake the people up from their idolatry. So He struck them with plagues. He used the nation of Judah to put fear into the hearts of the Egyptians. When the plagues struck, the people went to the Lord. They built a Temple to the Lord; worshiping Him. The great and mighty, and loving Lord healed the land and the people. The people cried out to god, and He listened. He forgave them because of His grace and loving nature.

How often do we turn from God in the present as the Israelites did in the past, believers in Christ are to stay steadfast in our faith. We cannot live a gospel life unless we live the word of God every day. If each of us will do this, perhaps turning away from God will become less and less as we walk in faith.

Again, this shows the great compassion God has for His Creation, when we submit to Him. Humbling ourselves before the Lord, healing will come.

Humans have a tendency to think they can do it by themselves. We become self- righteous. Sometimes our goals are achieved without the Lord. At least, so it seems.

So then, if our goals are achieved, why do we need God? Why do we need to address Him? The answer, even though goals are reached, other problems in life show the need to recognize God. Don’t forget SALVATION! Why?

Because we sin in different ways through life and need to repent. (change our mind and physical behavior)

For instance: knowing true love, not lustful or sexual love, yes, the sex act between two in love, can be a wonderful expression of love toward our partner, but I am referring to agape LOVE, or the LOVE of God. To know His LOVE, we must go adoringly into His presence. If you are a Christian, you know about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. God’s LOVE gave Him to us, in blood sacrifice, as the last sacrificial LAMB. Christ made a blood covenant with the Father in heaven. In doing so, He took away the sins of the believer and covered us with His blood, so our sins would not be remembered on Judgment Day.

Thank God for Jesus Christ our Savior! Agape love is love without expecting something in return. Love as revealed in Jesus, seen as spiritual and selfless and a model for humanity. Love that is spiritual, not sexual, in its nature.

The cartoon with Eve in the garden reminds us to always be aware of the Devil’s crafty influence. He constantly tries to swing believers and nonbelievers to his way of thinking.

Are you ready to receive our savior? If you are not sure, then go to the Bible and seek your answer. If you are not living a Gospel life you need to start this minute. Don’t take a chance of being caught, not ready! What am I saying? If your physical life should end now, are you saved and ready to stand before the Lord Jesus Christ on judgement day?

The first man and woman were so innocent. We are born with two influences, a negative and positive influence. Good and evil, from the Devil or God. No matter how we look at it, these influences, which-ever we listen to, help us or hurt us. If we listen to our fleshly desires, their influences can control us. If we listen to our Godly influence, we can’t go wrong.

It is that simple. But is it? The enemy can have a very strong influence on us. It is hard to resist him, but with the help of the Godly influence, we can overcome all things, even the Devil. Sometimes, though, it may take a while.

Then again, it could take being the lowest we can be to have God intervene.

I can’t stress enough the joy and peace that will come over you when in His presence. When the Holy Spirit comes up in you, at once a peace and over- whelming joy will take hold of you. You can feel so happy that tears may fill your eyes. It’s an experience you will never forget. I want you to know, beloved; it is possible to carry this feeling all the time. How? You do it by having a prayer life and reading the word of God every day. This is having a gospel life. It is what God wants.

Will you go to Him in prayer? Will you confess your sins to Him and ask Christ to come to you? If you do this, and reinforce your salvation through prayer and study, I promise blessings will follow. Praise God! I’m not talking of prosperity here. The prosperity gospel is a false gospel. Don’t buy into it! We have so many blessings we take for granted. I am talking of blessings like peace of mind, and joy, and so forth. You may have moments where you get up in the morning grumpy. Go to the word and ask Jesus to remove your mood. He will. This is a blessing. God wants to bless us by giving us His Spirit. Stop thinking of material things and think of Godly things. Many are blessed with financial prosperity, but lots of people are not. This is a deep subject and can only be touched on in this book. It isn’t that we are not meant to prosper. We are but, in order to prosper, we must use what God has given us with great passion. I am referring to our talents and abilities. I talk on this later in this book.

God showed us, through giving up the life of His Son, how much He loves His creation. When we believe in Jesus Christ as our savior, confess He has died for us, shedding His blood for us, we become part of the blood covenant Christ made with our heavenly father for us.

Christ tells us, there’s no greater gift, than to give one’s life for another. Look at the many times someone rushes into danger to save the life of someone they don’t even know. This is the love of god working through that person.

Sometimes they live and often they end up becoming a sacrifice to save the person in danger. They do it without thinking Am I going to die?

God’s love is something we all need to know. How do we do this? Start by believing in Him. We must believe that He exists. The Bible tells us He lives in each of us. If that is true, and I believe it, then we have to go inward toward Him. That is where He lives. He lives inside us. When we seek His presence, we become one with His Spirit! His spirit is inside us connected to our spirit.

It sounds easy, doesn’t it? It is and isn’t. What, you say? It can be hard to hear Him because of distractions outside of us. It takes being quiet. Christ has told us to SEEK Him. To do that, one has to be quiet and focus inwardly.

Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and you will find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

First, ask Him to let you know He exists inside you. Next, be quiet and try, as hard as you can, to feel His presence. At first, it may take time to know His presence, but if you persist, He will come forward. This is what He wants.

KNOCK and the door will open, then talk with Him. ASK and you will receive. There is no better time spent. The rewards are endless. Getting to know your savior, what more can you want? Tell me of a better, more valued gift. Christ is the most precious gift in life.

The physical man Jesus was just that, a man, a human body like you and I. What made Him different was the full power of God the Father in Him. His Spirit was one with the Father’s Spirit. He had the full glory of God inside Him.

All believers have the Spirit of God within, but not His whole glory and power as Christ had. This is the big distinction. Despite our lack, we can still know the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! It takes real discipline, but we can do it!

Christ’s ministry was a healing ministry. He healed thousands. Why?

Through His healing miracles, He proved that the power of God was in Him. In His teachings, He said those who believed in Him would go on to do even greater things than He had done. Belief is the main ingredient here. If we don’t believe, then a miracle may not happen. Why do I say, may not happen?

Because, sometimes, a miracle brings people into belief. Christ knew who He was and where He came from, and He stated that throughout His ministry. In the Gospels of Jesus Christ, He says, I know from where I come. I know the Father, but you do not know Him, nor do you know from where I come.

Do you know the human body was designed to be flawless? The Garden of Eden was a complete paradise. It had in it everything Adam and Eve needed to live perfectly in paradise. They were made in God’s image. Meaning they were perfect. No disease would harm them. If the Garden of Eden was perfect, then they’re more than likely weren’t any disease.

The human body has the devises in it to function perfectly. An immune system is our defense against any invasion from disease. Our digestive system is designed to carry away all waste matters, so the body will be clean. This body is a perfectly functioning temple for our spirit to live in harmony.

God told the Israelites, If you obey Me and live a righteous life, you will live without disease, and you will be prosperous. They were for a while. They were not bothered by disease and were very prosperous. So what happened?

They turned against God, doing things they were told not to do.

When you and I go against God’s wishes, we pay the price! Each time we go against God, we get further away from Him. We lose His protection from the evil one.

Just look at the times and what is going on in the world these days, and you will see a corrupt and sinning world a world without protection from the Wrath of God! The things happening are the birth pains building up to the last days! Make no mistake. They are coming!

When we as believers confess that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, be baptized by full
