    CHAPTER ONE

    *A Gift*

Sounds all over the hospital, everyone is sitting outside the delivery room impatiently waiting to see the new baby...

Two kids sitting next to their father who keeps on checking his watch nearly every minute, a woman in late 60s sitting next to him pats on his shoulder to calm him down then holds his hand to stop him from checking his watch, and saying: calm down my son, enough checking your watch, just wait, and the baby will be here soon..

The man breathed out, moved away the woman's hands and replied I'm calm mom, two kids are enough why a third?! Plus my time is so precious and staying here is no good for me.. Why wouldn't she just make the delivery, grab the baby and go home?

The woman looked away saying you won't change Kazem, you still this stone-cold heartless man you have been all your life.. Maybe that's why God never gave you a girl, thank God for boys, who knows how would you treat her!..

Biting his lips the man said, aaaah!. I hope it's not a girl, I don't know what to do, I need no girls, all the endless problems, the unfulfillable needs for protection, I need non of this.

He said it, no reply from his mom, just Silence.. Seems she lost hope in changing him. Sometimes keeping silent is much better of carving on water wall.

Few seconds, doctor shows up taking off her gloves, throwing them in the trash, and lifting the Surgical mask off her face, saying: Congratulations Mr. Kazem, God gave you a beautiful baby girl.

He went purple with rage saying: Girl !!

His mother smiled with joy, hold her grand children's hands and entered the baby girl, and her mother's room who is so exhausted of childbirth, approaching her with greetings, hold the baby passionately saying: I've always dreamed of having a girl but God gave me Kazem, now my dream has come true in his girl, my son... Oh! How beautiful she is.

Kazem's mother put the girl beside her mom who has felt asleep of exhaustion, then went out with the two kids to find Kazem is rushing out of the doctor's room. She heaves a deep sigh of concern as his eyes blaze and sparkle and face doesn't look promising. She approaches and asks with worry: what's wrong my boy ?!

She is the girl mom, as if it's not enough that she is a Girl but also the doctor thinks that she is not well, she recommended a paediatrician for her... Isn't there any here to save us the trouble of wasting much more time.

full of sadness his mother insists on going with him to check on the girl leaving the two kids with their aunt who came to visit her sister.

Heavy traffic, the woman looks at her son who won't stop on checking his watch, while she is holding his baby girl who hasn't even opened her eyes yet in their way to the doctor. The road got less crowded by the time.

They finally arrived, after examining the girl and giving her back to her grand ma, he sits down and breathed with a fake smile saying: I'm sorry she is deaf, she needs a specialist.

Kazem looks at his mother with unsatisfied sad face saying: you always wished for a girl, here it is coming true, great wish mom. Then he left.

Watching Kazem leaving the room, his mother hugs the girl tightly with eyes full of tears and followed him out.

(What a mighty force that manipulates with our lives?!!! A force we never pay attention to it until it's too late which is powerful enough to take everything away in just a blink of an eye).

This once a young little lady full of life just running around doing so much every day with all the happiness and power in the world is now struggling her way with her spin injuries, and weak legs holding the girl trying desperately to walk straight to catch up with her son..

All this life events took so much of her strength, and here is Kazem, her own son, taking away what's left with his irresponsible selfish acts.

FinallyFinally, she gives up and throw her exhausted, old, time ravaged body on the closest seat.

She looks at the girl, lifts her up and whispers in her ear: don't be sad my sweetheart, every cloud has a silver lining. Know girl I won't live forever but I want you to know that I will always be with you no matter what.

Back to the hospital, a nurse put the girl in her mothers lap who as soon as knowing her daughter's situation never stopped crying. Before leaving, a nurse approaches and asks about the girl's name to register it, the mother looked with her swollen eyes to the father searching for an answer who seems doesn't really care, says: '' anything, I really don't care, just pick a name and let us leave, enough of wasting my time I got tons of work still undone."

Mother cries, looking at her daughter without saying a word, Kazem's mother approaching with peaceful smile says Noorseen, her name is Noorseen Kazem.

With raised eyebrow Kazem says and what that strange name supposed to mean, mother ?!.

Answering with a focused, passionate, tender look to the girl: it's moon light, the light that will lighten your nights Kazem.

Several years later, Noorseen is seven years old now, very pretty with angelic face. Although she doesn't hear or speak, but she is very clever, fast learner, good with using sign language, and reading lips. Her mother was always busy with housework, and taking care of her boys' education and activities. Noorseen On the other hand was very attached to her grandmother who lives with them.

Her grandmother, who became much older and weaker by the time, got very sick. Kazem as always has no time for his mother not even his wife. So, he hired a nurse to take care of her at home instead of wasting time in visiting her in hospital now and then.

No one cares about that old weak sick woman except Noorseen, her grandchild who kept on sitting beside her bed all the time afraid of losing her. Lose her last hope, her refuge, her true loving mom, her everything. The only person who cared about her, made her feel normal and accepted. Even her biological mother didn't care about Noorseen's needs or education as her grandmother did. Her grandmother was the one who always accompanying Noorseen to rehabilitation center to receive her education. Despite grandmother's age, she was able to communicate Fluently with Noorseen.

One day, Noorseen felt asleep in her granny's lab as usual and saw a very strange dream. Her grandmother was standing in an amazing garden, trimming trees, surrounded by dancing beautiful flowers of every color you could imagine, and music everywhere. Noorseen approaches, grandma with a full of joy voice shouted: Noorseen, is that really you ?!

Noorseen: yes grandma, what a charming place!! Oh my God! Am I speaking!! Is it a dream?!

Grandmother looked with sparkling eyes at Noorseen, put her hands on her cheeks and says yes, it's a dream. Sweetheart, I'm so glad to see you here. I didn't know that you inherited my gift. My girl, know that whenever you need me you can find me here.

Noorseen: And what that place granny?

Grandmother smiling, and pointing to everywhere: it's Dream World sweetie, the place where all your dreams can come true.

Noorseen pointing to a strange-looking unpainted wooden door in the very far corner with smoke comes out of it, asking: And what is that grandma?

Grandmother embraces Noorseen as if protecting her from an invisible force, says: Don't you ever come close to that door. Keep away from it as far as you could, please my child promise me.

Noorseen looked at her grandmother suspiciously with feelings of awkwardness from her demand, answering: I promise you.

Noorseen woke up to see her grandmother looking at her silently with a smile, then holds her hand, says: it's real, I saw your dream too.

The girl wondered, using signs: How ?!

Grandmother, says: It’s a gift from God sweetie, but I was much older than you when I had it.

Looking carefully around her, Grandmother whispered: ''Be careful my child, this gift can be a living heaven or hell, and remember keep away from that door. Don't open it."

Noorseen hugged her grandmother, using signs: Are you going to die ?!

Grandmother with tears in her eyes, says: And who will not my child ? What only matter is our good deeds. I want you to know the moment I saw you, I knew you are special and will do a lot of great things one day. I have faith in you.

Few days later, grandmother who has felt her days are nearly ended, called for the girl. With the help of the nurse, grandmother took off her gold necklace with the small blue diamond off her neck and gave it to Noorseen and told her: it's yours now, I've kept it since dreams fairy give it to me.

Noorseen: Is there a dreams fairy?!

Grandmother look attentively to the girl with her new necklace, says: "You will know everything at it's time sweetheart, you still young. Remember, you will always find me waiting in the garden of
