    Good Son - Beau Brown

    Chapter One

I know you don’t want to come home, but you have to. Mom’s dying. My sister’s voice trembled as it traveled hundreds of miles over the phone line.

I wasn’t sure what to say. I felt numb about my mom, and sick at the thought of returning to that little dusty town in Texas. I’d run as far and as fast as I could when I was seventeen. I probably hadn’t spoken to my mom more than five times in eight years. And I hadn’t missed it either.

Piper, do you hear me? Her tone was sharp.

    I hear you.

She exhaled. I shouldn’t have to be the only one taking care of her.

Hire someone. I’ll pay half. I nodded to the waitress as she set the bill on the table. I pulled out a twenty and dropped it on top of the check. Then I slid out of the booth and left the restaurant. The late afternoon sun beat down on my back as I headed to my car, with my phone still pressed to my ear.

Fine, but throwing money at this won’t solve all the issues. You know how mom is about strangers, and I don’t have time to do everything alone. I have a kid and a husband to tend to.

I have shit to do too, Trina. I have Responsibilities.

But mostly I don’t want to come home.

She snorted a laugh. Please. What did you do, adopt a cat?

    I’m talking about my job.

Can you really even call that a job?

Irritation prickled me at her judgmental tone. Bye, Trina.

Wait. She spoke quickly. Don’t hang up. I’m sorry.

I have a show in ten minutes. I don’t have time to talk right now. I put on my Bluetooth and then started the engine and the Toyota purred to life.

You never have time to talk, but we need to. I can’t do this anymore. Not alone at least. You have to come home. Plus, if mom dies and you don’t say goodbye, it will haunt you for the rest of your life.

I steered the car around a sharp corner toward the club. She couldn’t care less if I come home. You and I both know it.

That’s not true. She spoke softly. She asked for you.

I grunted. Bullshit. You’re just saying that so I’ll come back.

No. She said she wants to see you. There were muffled voices behind her and she covered the mouth piece. When she came back on the line, she sounded breathless. Crap, I have to go. You better be here by the weekend, or you’re never going to hear the end of it from me.

Trina— She hung up, and I rolled my eyes. She suffered from big sister syndrome and loved bossing me around. I pulled into a parking space at the Dancing Devil strip club, and when I walked into the bar, it took my eyes a second to adjust to the dark interior of the building. There was a show in progress, red and white strobe lights flashing rhythmically to the beat of the song. Davies was selling it big time. He was slick with sweat and shaking his ass to the loud music like a jackhammer.

Jesus, Piper. Get your fucking outfit on. Tom, the club manager, snapped at me as I rushed past.

    I am, I said breathlessly.

He followed me through the velvet red curtains into the backstage area where the drab dressing rooms were. You shouldn’t cut it this close.

    It wasn’t on purpose.

Hmmm. He stood over me as I stripped. It wasn’t lost on me how he ran his eyes over my body. He was an alpha, and like most alphas, he thought he could treat omegas however he wanted. He liked touching his dancers more than I thought was professional. I’d even heard rumors he’d fucked a couple of the guys in his office. He’d never actually hit on me, but he made me uncomfortable because he liked to stand closer than I preferred. You almost gave me a heart attack, kid.

Sorry. I pulled on my rhinestone encrusted thong. The minute my dick was covered, he seemed to lose interest in talking to me.

    Pervert.

Make us some money, Piper. He left the area and went back to the bar.

I was popular with the regulars. I guess it was mostly because I had blond hair, blue eyes and tattoos. Well, that and a nice body. I put a lot of time into making sure my muscles were perfection, and it paid off in tips.

Davies came rushing off the stage, still sweaty and breathing hard. Jesus, there are a lot of grabby, horny alphas out there tonight. He sat at one of the mirrors, and mopped his face with a towel. Speaking of horny alphas, Lucio is out there.

I met his gaze in the mirror as I dabbed on a tiny bit of eyeliner just to make my eyes pop from the stage. I smirked. Of course he is. When does he ever miss a show?

You two still fucking? Davies squeezed a water bottle and gulped the cool liquid down. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. You know he has a boyfriend, right?

I’m not the morality police. Lucio says they broke up. What am I supposed to do, make him take a lie detector test?

No, but uh… I’ve seen the guy, and he’s big for an omega. Looks mean.

    I shrugged. I figure that’s Lucio’s problem.

It’ll be yours too if he catches you with Lucio’s dick in your ass.

I rolled my eyes and headed for the stage. I waited for Jack to cue the music and I walked out through the beaded curtain when it started. Loud whoops and cat calls filled the room as I began to grind on the pole. I liked dancing for money. It made me feel powerful to elicit such strong responses from these horny alphas. Omegas were pushed around so often, and there were all these expectations on us to have babies by a certain age. It pissed me off, and I liked taking back a tiny bit of power by making these alphas drool. I rolled my hips and simulated sex as I humped the chrome accessory bolted to the floor. I grabbed the edges of my thong and slid it down a few inches exposing part of my ass. The guys in the front row went nuts, yelling dirty comments about what they’d love to do to me.

I shook and wiggled the entire four minutes the song lasted. I never saw Lucio, which was odd. He was usually in the front. I waved and pranced off the stage. I had two more spots tonight, so I toweled off and changed into a clean thong. I kept peeking out the curtain to see if Lucio was at the bar, but I didn’t see him anywhere.

Are you sure Lucio’s here tonight? I asked Davies. I was feeling horny and I wanted a little action to take the edge off before my next show. Yeah, I could have found a replacement easily, but I didn’t want to get the rep that I’d fuck anybody who asked. You’d never know it if you listened to the gossip, but I was selective.

    He nodded. Yeah. Positive.

I didn’t see him. I smoothed my hand over my face, pushing my hair off my forehead. I’m gonna go check if he’s out back having a smoke.

Okay. Davies was busy texting on his phone. Use a rubber.

Shut up. I walked down the hall and pushed through the doors that led to the back of the building. The sun had gone down behind the brick buildings, but I smelled nicotine smoke, so I followed the scent to the other side of a big dumpster. Sure enough Lucio was leaning against the wall, puffing away. He looked up, and the yellow glow of the bug light above his head cast sinister shadows across his rugged face.

    Hey, Sexy, he growled.

I didn’t think you came tonight.

    I’m here. I just needed a smoke.

Why didn’t you come get me? I have burning needs that only your enormous cock can extinguish. I smirked, and ran my hand up his arm. I wasn’t in love with Lucio. Not by a long shot. But he had a big dick, and he spent a shit load of money on me.

He smiled and tossed his cigarette on the ground, crushing it with his foot. He pulled me closer and shoved my thong down exposing my cock. Is that right?

    Oh, yeah.

You’re gonna get me in trouble. With his other hand he unzipped his pants. I’m not supposed to be doing this anymore.

Why? I was finding conversation difficult, as he began stroking my erection.

The guy I’m with doesn’t like it.

I squinted at him. I thought you didn’t have an omega. I started to pull away, and he grabbed me.

We weren’t monogamous till now. His voice was a low growl. He wants to get pregnant, so now we have rules.

I found it ironic he was talking about monogamy, as he fondled my cock. If you have an omega, we shouldn’t mess around.

At the stroke of midnight I’ll turn over a new leaf. He gave a hard laugh as he swung me around and pushed me against the dirty cement wall of the club. Come on, baby, one last fuck for old time sake.

I had to admit, I liked it when he manhandled me. Perhaps it was a left over trigger from when my dad used to knock me around and whip me with his belt. Maybe just one more time.

Hell, I’m not the one with the boyfriend.

He spit on his fingers. Open up, baby, I’m coming in.

I shivered when he slipped two fingers into my ass. Oh, fuck, I moaned as he speared me. My body shuddered and my nipples hardened in response to the invasion.

I’m gonna miss this perfect ass of yours. He pushed his fingers in and out, and I whimpered against my arm. I don’t know if I can give you up, he muttered.

Come on, just fuck me. I pushed my ass out, wanting more. I didn’t have time for romance. I just needed him inside me so I could get off, and get back inside the club.

Impatient little slut. I heard the crinkle of a condom wrapper, and then the bump of his wide cock against my hole. He spit, and then with a loud groan, pushed in deep.

The thick glide of his cock into me had my legs almost buckling. It felt so good to be taken hard by an alpha like him, outside in the cool night air with the sounds of the city all around us. Oh, yeah. I moaned and pushed back on him. Fuck me harder.

He thrust deeper and deeper, his hot breath against the back of my neck. Yeah, baby. I’ll fuck you good. You won’t even want any other alpha.

It wasn’t gonna take long to shoot. My nipples scraped the rough wall with every push into me, and my entire body buzzed with lust. I began jerking my cock, my knuckles bumping the bricks with every stroke.

When he sank his teeth into my shoulder, I cried out and cum splattered the wall as I climaxed. Shit, I wheezed as my orgasm ripped through me, leaving me weak and trembling.

He hissed, his cock jerking deep inside of me as he groaned into my hair. My legs shook, but he held me up and thrust into me, emptying his cock into the condom. Once we both stopped bucking against each other, he pulled out and patted my back.

You’re a beautiful boy. He panted and leaned against the building, pulling up his pants with jerky motions. I don’t know how I’m gonna say no to you.

    Then don’t.

    Maybe I won’t.

I glanced down at my abs, noticing they were smeared in cum. I couldn’t go back inside like that. Do you have a handkerchief?

He laughed and handed me a wad of Kleenex. Don’t say I never gave you anything. He squeezed my bare ass cheeks. Fuck, you’re sexy.

I cleaned up, and tossed the tissues in the dumpster. Well, that was fun. I pulled up my thong, and the words had barely left my lips, when the back door slammed open. A tall omega with muscles on top of muscles came outside craning his neck. When he saw us, he headed toward us with determined strides.

Why are you out here with this guy? His voice was accusing as he pointed at me.

Calm down, Frank. Lucio swallowed. I was having a smoke, and we were shooting the shit.

The man turned his intense gaze on me. Oh, yeah? What were you talking about?

    Uh… football, I said.

Hockey, Lucio said at the exact same time.

Scowling, Frank pushed his face close to mine. Which is it?

I looked to Lucio, hoping he had an idea of how to calm this Neanderthal.

Are you trying to get in my boyfriend’s pants? Frank’s breath smelled like whiskey.

Great. Mad and drunk. An excellent combination for assault.

Even though my heart was racing, I kept my expression blank. Seriously, we were just talking. I prayed Lucio had zipped his jeans back up properly.

Really? You just thought you’d come out here and have a conversation in what amounts to your underwear?

Why not? I needed some fresh air.

Frank, leave him alone, Lucio chimed in weakly.

His boyfriend continued to give me the stink eye. You’re half naked. It doesn’t make sense you’d be out here freezing your balls off just so you can talk, Frank hissed.

You have a point about it being cold. I rubbed my arms, and took a step toward the door. I have a show in a little while, so I’d better get back inside.

Hold on. Frank touched my shoulder. I’ve got a few more questions for you.

Maybe after the next show? I’m freezing.

Nah, hang on. Frank twisted his lips, and pulled his cell from his pocket. Before you go, I want to get your take on this video I shot a couple of nights ago.

I had a bad feeling, and something told me he wasn’t about to share cute kitten videos with me. I don’t see what this has to do with me.

Snorting, Frank shoved the phone in front of my face. Well, you’re the star of this movie, Sweet Cheeks.

He pressed some buttons and the video began to play, complete with sound. Unfortunately, the sounds were mostly grunted words like ‘Fuck me harder’ and ‘Oh, yeah, come for me, Piper’, accompanied by lots of heavy breathing.

    Shit. Shit. Shit.

Well, this is awkward. I tensed my muscles, ready to bolt into the club. I should probably let you two talk.

Frank shook his head, and tucked his phone back in his jeans. You’re not going anywhere.

Look, this is between you and Lucio.

He grabbed my arm and squeezed hard. Why were you having sex with my boyfriend?

Cause he’s really good at it?

I met Lucio’s frazzled gaze and realized even that tough son of a bitch was afraid of Frank. Uh… Lucio, you want to help me out here?

Lucio cleared his throat. Now calm down, honey. You and I weren’t really together then.

Frank let go of me, and spun around to face Lucio. It would have been nice if you’d let me in on that.

You left and were staying at Dave’s place. I assumed you two were fucking. Lucio’s voice wobbled.

Oh, no. I’m not the one sleeping around, Frank growled. Don’t you go trying to pin your shitty behavior on me.

Since they seemed distracted, I seized my opportunity to flee. I walked swiftly toward the back door of the club, the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end. Unfortunately, Frank noticed my escape.

He screamed, You can run, but you can’t hide, buddy. I’m gonna put you in the hospital tonight.

I had little doubt he meant it. I knew how to read people, and while some guys were full of empty threats, certain men meant what they said. I was
