Rock and roll had a bad reputation in Britain after the American film Rock Around the Clock came to Britain and teenagers ripped up their cinema seats to dance to the title track, by Bill Haley and His Comets. But rock ’n’ roll wasn’t going away.

The Quarry Men perform at New Clubmoor Hall in Norris Green, a northern part of Liverpool. Paul’s first guitar solo is a disaster, and he never plays lead again onstage.

When John met Paul, he was excited to learn that his new friend also loved music. They began to play Little Richard records, and John was determined to learn the chords to Elvis Presley’s Blue Moon.

When Paul was hanging out with John, he would often hear people shouting his name and playing the guitar. One time, a policeman caught him playing the guitar and asked him if he could give him guitar lessons.

John and Paul’s new project is to crack the intro to Buddy Holly’s That’ll Be the Day. They’ve been going at it for weeks. John rarely goes to class, but he is most in his element at the eyeball to eyeball sessions he and Paul undertake at Paul’s empty house.

The Quarry Men were playing Wilson Hall, sharing the bill with the Eddie Clayton Skiffle Group, on February 6, 1958. After the show, John challenged George, and George aced the audition. He was able to play Ranchee for them, and they agreed to let him join.

On July 15, John is invited to a party to celebrate Commonwealth Day. While he’s playing music, he sees three members of his family standing in the crowd. His mother, Julia, and his half sisters, Julia and Jacqui, are the best kind of fans, who sing and scream along with him.

Mark had flown to New York to kill Lennon. He had stayed at the YMCA, and when he heard that Lennon was out of town, he went out and saw that stupid film, Ordinary People. He didn’t have a shrink, so he called his wife. She believed him and obeyed him, granting his every desire.
