About this ebook

Morgan Harrison is the youngest of four siblings in a very tight-knit family. Training at the University of Victoria in Criminology, she meets the love of her life, Drew Komar, who is studying to be a lawyer. Their love is a fairy tale that blossoms, and they can't wait to get married – not even until they both graduate with their degrees. After struggling with work, a marriage and school, Drew convinces Morgan to take time off her degree to work…only until he gets his law degree.

That was fourteen years ago. Now, Morgan is a stay-at-home mom of two kids and unfulfilled goals of becoming a police officer. And Drew? He's a big-wig successful lawyer making business deals with large corporations and foreign investors. And he did it all on his own – not that he didn't ask Morgan's parents for help. But he really did not expect them to deny him her inheritance early – she was going to get it anyhow.

Now Morgan is in for the surprise of her life, as her head-over-heels love for Drew is cut off at the knees when he asks her for a divorce…and demands custody of both the kids.

What is Morgan supposed to do with no career, no skills and no money? Sure, her two older sisters now run the Qualicum Bay Cove Resort which they inherited after their parents had a tragic accident. But she can't ask them for help…can she?

This inspirational romance series which explores divorce, discovery and renewing relationships shows the power of family and the bond between sisters. Anything is possible where there is love.

    Chapter One - Morgan

Crap, I mutter to myself as I collect all my things into my backpack. I’ve spent too much time in the library this morning and, if I don’t leave now, I’ll be late to my 8:00 AM class. I already suspect that the professor doesn’t like me for my previous late arrivals, and I want to change his impression of me by the end of this semester so I can use him as a referral later.

Knowing that I have a flight of stairs waiting for me, I swing my backpack over my shoulder and race out of the library, murmuring apologies as I bump into other students. It’s pouring rain when I step outside, and I pull up my jacket hood and dart across the quad.

I’m halfway up the stairs inside of the building and breathing hard when an arm gently intertwines itself in mine and pulls back, slowing me down. I look to my left to see Drew Komar at my side, grinning at me with mischief. His dark curls are matted down from the rain, and I can spot raindrops on his eyelashes. Where are you going in such a hurry? he teases me as I begin to walk at his pace, moving his arm to wrap around my shoulders. You’ll faint at this rate.

I sigh and lightly lean my head against him as we walk. I’m going to be late, I admit to him, and he laughs.

You have Professor Rogan right now, right? I’ll walk you there. He maintains his pace and, reluctantly, I do the same. I’m clearly in more of a rush than he is but, as I walk alongside him, I can feel some of the tension slowly seeping out of my body. It’s been a few days since I’ve seen Drew, and it feels amazing to have him by my side, no matter how brief.

The two of us haven’t had alone time since spring break, when we visited my parents at the Qualicum Bay Cove Golf Course and Resort, a resort they’ve owned and run for several years now.

It is a very unique 18-hole golf resort that has accommodations for guests to stay right at the site. The reception office is connected to a 24-room high-end motel that has high-end rooms and a cafeteria-style restaurant, along with a separate small pub in the same building. Both the restaurant and the pub get a lot of local customers as well as the resort patrons. There are also five luxury cottages, three First Nations-style Teepees, and three treehouses, all equipped with modern amenities. Kind of ‘glamping’ for the resort customers.

It was a surprise to my siblings and I when our parents first purchased the property and started the Qualicum Cove Bay Resort. In their professional careers, my mother had been a geologist, and my father an environmental scientist, but they decided they needed a change a few years back. We all assumed they would simply enjoy their lives with the money they put away, but they exclaimed that not working after having such involved careers was far too boring and decided to open up the resort.

My parents invited Drew and I for spring break, and I was delighted that my sisters and brother were also there enjoying themselves. The two of us spent the two weeks golfing, kayaking, and making love in the cottage we shared. But that was weeks ago, and since then the two of us have been busy with school and work.

Abruptly Drew pulls me off to the side out of the busy hallway and pushes me into a utility closet. Then he crams himself in behind me and we’re soon enveloped by darkness.

What’s going on? I whisper so him as he fumbles with something on the shelf behind me. My heart is pounding in my chest at the suddenness of his actions, and I fear how late for class I am going to be. Drew?

He silences me by pressing his lips to mine and, even though I’m anxious and stressed, I can’t help but relax at the warmth of his lips. I missed you, he murmurs against my ear, his soft hands roaming my body, down to the waistband of my jeans.

I missed you, too. I can’t help giggling as one of his fingers grazes a sensitive, ticklish area of my abdomen, and his mouth presses a gentle kiss on my neck.

What’s so funny? he teases. By this point he has slipped his hand into my jeans, and I sigh at how good his fingers feel. Huh?

I’m too lost in the desire pulsating between my legs to answer, and he must sense it because he hoists me up onto the garbage bin behind me and pulls my jeans down to rest at my ankles. Even though the bin adds
