Tiny Homes for the Homeless - Kate Southerland

    Kate Southerland

    December 17, 2021

The tiny home movement has been sweeping through many modern nations and has become a global phenomenon. The movement is so popular that many television channels such as HGTV have media dedicated to this trend. However, it is sometimes unclear about the definition, meaning, and purpose of tiny homes. Some notable discussions surrounding tiny homes include reducing environmental impact, economic choices, and most of all homelessness. It is important to research tiny house communities since they could be a solution to the homeless crisis in the United States. This paper will incorporate an overview about tiny houses and its impact on homelessness, a description and analysis of current tiny home neighborhoods, and justifications for using these communities as a way to decrease a lack of affordable housing
