It is nearly black out. The skies are dark with a bruised, purple horizon. If it weren’t for the stars shining across the evening sky or the pulsating flashes from the lightening bugs, it would be almost impossible to see anything. Yet off in the distance, something flickers and catches the eye. A dim light grows stronger, until finally it looks as though the center of the earth has pushed to the surface and is setting the forest ablaze. Flames dangerously close to destroying living trees, brush, vegetation, and animal life loom in the center of the woods. But travel in closer.
