About this ebook
Never has the power of being and power of becoming been more important or more in the collective consciousness than it is now. Kevin Clifford Burke’s collection of poems, focused primarily on the power of love and how it can free us from the darkness of our lives, are for everyone who is intellectually curious and open to an original creative vision, word play, and the music of language concentrated in the poetic form. Hypnotic, mystical, and transcendent, Burke’s updated reissue of his first collection is a thought-provoking compilation that challenges all to break out of prescribed limitations and become one with themselves, love, God, and nature. Brimming with optimism and lyrical wonder, this collection challenges us all to capture the essence of being human: taking risks and daring to be ourselves and letting our light shine and be loved by another; a spiritual resurrection of the self and rejoicing in that newfound freedom to be open, honest, vulnerable, determined, and in silent contemplation of the eternal lightness that shines in all of us; listening to our dreams and learning from them in order to free ourselves from the invisible chains of our unconscious; learning from nature, being nourished by it, and learning to be one with it as well as one with our own natures so that we may find our place within nature and the universe. In our modern times of great stress and fast paced motion, Burke's poems offer inspired moments of soul-searching hope and transformation as well as intellectual refreshment and tranquility. Although filled with probing questioning, through his poetry he shares with the reader a sense of spiritual centeredness, humor and hope for the Self. A refreshing voice in a sea of noise, The Bridge of Love: A Collection of Poems speaks to the power of within each of us to create a world of extraordinary peace, love, and wonder.
