      I've worked for Mrs. Kline, Brenda, at the corner coffee shop off and on for nearly three years. Since I was sixteen. After school and on Saturdays mostly. Full-time in the summers. And now that I graduated a few months ago.

      I'm Edna, by the way. I know. An awful name, right? What were my parents thinking? But maybe they knew something going in because people tell me the name fits me. They say I'm quirky, nerdish. A unique personality. I'm told I'm goofy and skittish around people. I went through my emo phase for a while. I still have the black hair, but the purple streak is all but gone. And, I don't do the black eyeliner thing anymore. I am still gay, though.

      That stuck after puberty, much to Mom's chagrin. Even though I've never been sexually active. Not yet. A lot of that's got to do with the fact I'm Edna. Shy, reserved, afraid to put myself out there with girls my own
