About this ebook

Satan’s Final Days is a new and refreshing look at the Last Days, as Satan comes knowing his time is short, and Christians arise knowing the same thing.

Blatant errors and inconsistencies, taught from the pulpit, have seriously distorted our understanding of the Last Days.

Satan’s Final Days depicts the End Times very differently from how it is usually presented.

Birthed through revelation over time ... a slow dawning of a new way to understand Bible verses pertaining to the End of the Age.

The Rapture, widely preached throughout today’s churches, will no longer provide a convenient way of escape, nor excuse us from inaction or tribulation as events unfold!

    ABOUT THE AUTHOR

    INTRODUCTION

    The Second Coming of Christ is the favourite subject of religious cranks and crackpots, each pushing their own pet theory, sometimes with a specific calendar of events. They attack the unwary with vehemence, causing their unfortunate captives to look for ways to escape the intensity of their verbal assault. Their strongly-held views usually include a subjective analysis of biblical prophecy, drawn from the books of Revelation and Daniel, and applied to world affairs of the day.

    These doom-merchants foretell of imminent wars and economic collapse. Dire warnings and speculations abound as they challenge the ungodly to beware lest they be left behind when Jesus comes to remove Christians from the horrors to come. For such, this book will be as new wine to old wineskins. They will be unable to accept the ‘new wine’ of this message because of their ‘old wineskin’ mentality.

    Christians who realise the extremism attached to this topic avoid it like the plague. They understandably prefer to get about doing the Lord’s work and leave Last Day events to unfold as they will. This is commendable, but the scriptures have a lot to say about this final period of the world’s existence and we should not remain ignorant on the subject. Last Days prophecies pertain to more than the end of the world; they reveal our Lord’s great plan for humanity, a plan hidden from the eyes of the proud and the intellectual, but revealed to babes.

    Scrapheap Theory

    The theological study of Last Day events is called eschatology. Theories have been given highfaluting names such as Pre-millennialism, Post-millennialism and A-millennialism, and exist as a myriad of variations integrating the Great Tribulation and the Rapture. Pre-millennialism is the most commonly held point of view in Christendom today. Basically, it is the belief that Jesus returns to earth before His 1000-year reign, which seems quite logical.

    Many ideas put forward herein are Post-millennial, a theory which has been tossed on the scrapheap because theologians could not see how it could possibly happen, pragmatically speaking. Post-millennialism is the belief that Jesus will return only after the 1000-year reign of the mature Church. And I stress the word ‘mature’; this is something that only the Spirit of God can bring about, as it is well beyond the grasp of human nature. The jury remains out on whether the ‘one thousand years’ is literal or symbolic, which introduces an A-millennial aspect to this treatise.

    So here is yet another way to look at this tumultuous time in the earth’s history – something a little different from how it is normally viewed. The author has not arrived at these conclusions through intense study, although scriptural references are cited to support the claims. They came by way of revelation over time, a slow dawning of a new way to understand the Bible verses surrounding End Times.

    Destruction of Satan’s Rule

    The End of the Age is not so much the end of the earth but the end of Satan’s rule on earth. It represents the end of the earth as we know it. Regrettably, some may not find this rendition of the Last Days very attractive as it will not allow them to remain as passive onlookers. Instead, there will be an obligation to be actively involved as events unfold. The message of the Rapture, widely held by Christians today, will no longer provide a convenient way of escape, nor excuse us from inaction or tribulation!

    Please persevere through Part 1 of this book as historical foundations set the stage upon which the final acts of Satan and his Antichrist are played out. Like all End Time interpretations, this thesis must be seen as a mixture of scriptural interpretation and speculation.

    Tomorrow’s World

    Over time, empires fall and cultures crumble. The rapidity of change appears to be accelerating throughout our world. When we consider potential threats to the planet and our way of life, such as …

    •moral decline;

    •pollution and climate change;

    •world population growth;

    •multiple species extinction;

    •military conflicts and wars;

    •widespread poverty;

    •racial tensions;

    •cultural and ideological clashes;

    •pandemic diseases;

    •food shortages and famines;

    •natural disasters;

    •burgeoning national debts;

    •shifting economic powerbases; and

    •technological change

    … tomorrow’s world will look very different from todays. As the cyclonic winds of change blow across the earth they will leave in their wake a future that may be largely unrecognisable by today’s standards. Thus, a very different stage might be set for the world’s closing act, making speculation from today’s vantage point poor or just plain wrong.

    Only time will determine the credibility of the ideas presented herein. It is therefore unwise to hold any End Time teaching as infallible or absolute. Rather hold them lightly, ready to abandon any theory, either in part or in full, as events overtake conjecture. Like all End Time teachings, this thesis is not devoid of theological inconsistencies. And so, these ideas are offered to you, the reader, to preside over their validity. They represent the views held by the author, with the foundational belief that the maturity of the Church and the closing of the Age are inseparably interwoven.

    PART 1

    SETTING THE STAGE

    CHAPTER 1

    THE POST-CHRISTIAN AGE

    In the not-too-distant future a day will dawn that will be unlike any day before it. At first, it will seem like any other day but suddenly the powers of the heavens will be shaken! A loud trumpet call will breach the heavenlies as Jesus Himself appears in the skies with great power and glory! With Him will be a myriad of angelic beings! The trumpet blast will signal the end of the age as the angels are sent out to gather together the faithful ones, which the Bible calls the Elect.

    Absolute amazement and astonishment will envelop every onlooker. The wonder and glory of His return will be beyond human expression. The existence of God will be undeniable as the heavens are opened for every human being to behold, including the most ardent atheists. Every eye shall see Him, every knee shall bend and every mouth will acknowledge that Jesus Christ truly is Lord of All and King of Kings. The Elect will rejoice but the ungodly will sigh and moan, for they will instinctively know their fate. They rejected the truth and now the undeniable truth is upon them.

    The age of selfishness will be over. Jesus will take His rightful throne as the nations gather before Him. He will separate one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from his goats. Then the King will say to His sheep, Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Then He will turn and say to the goats, Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.¹

    This day will be a day to remember, the day of deliverance and ultimate salvation! The earth will be burned with fire and heaven will be gloriously altered. A new earth and a new heaven will miraculously and instantaneously replace the old.

    But how will this all come about and what will be the signs of the Second Coming of Jesus? There have been many theories espoused since the times of the early Church. Many self-proclaimed prophets have pointed to a specific day on the calendar only to be disgraced when the time has come and gone. Strangely, they seem to invent excuses and set alternate deadlines without losing too many of their devotees.

    The End of the Age encompasses a series of events that have been prophesied in the scriptures …

    •Second Coming of Christ

    •Millennial Reign of Christ

    •The Rapture

    •The Mark of the Beast

    •The Great Tribulation

    •The Antichrist

    •The Final Judgment

    •Battle of Armageddon

    •Marriage Supper of the Lamb

    •New Jerusalem

    •New Heaven and New Earth

    But how do all these events fit together, and in what order?

    Current Perceptions

    I have heard many sermons on the Last Days, but they never seemed to fit comfortably into all the relevant scriptural references. Generally, they went something like this …

    Look … wars and rumours of wars are commonplace now. Earthquakes and natural disasters have increased throughout our world. The cashless society and the one-world government are coming. Clearly, we are in the Last Days. The stage is now set for the final days of earth.

    Where there are two, one will be taken and the other left. All Christians will be removed from the tribulation that is coming upon the earth. We will be taken to heaven leaving the non-Christians stunned and confused, wondering where we have gone (this is called the Rapture).

    Those left behind will go through indescribable sufferings while we are kept safe from harm in heaven. These troubles will last for either three-and-a-half or seven years, depending upon the theory (this is the Great Tribulation). Those remaining may be saved, but only through the ‘fires’ of those horrible times.

    This is also the time of the Antichrist who wreaks havoc on the earth until Jesus returns in the clouds with great glory. Jesus will come with His angels, the Christians who have been raptured and those Christians who have died throughout all time. Those converted through the ‘fires’ of tribulation, and remaining on the earth, will rise into the air to meet Him and we will all be with our Lord forever after.

    Then Jesus subdues the Antichrist and all his adherents at the Battle of Armageddon and sets up His earthly Kingdom. Jesus reigns on earth for one thousand years (the Millennial Reign) after which time He engages the devil and annihilates Him.

    The Kingdom then flows on into eternity. Somewhere amongst all this is the judgment after which we are all taken to heaven to live happily ever after in a blissful eternal existence.

    This is often how the Second Coming is presented. But this lacks clarity and doesn’t seem to be a logical sequence of events. The Bible verses make sense when read independently but when they are all put together they become confusing. This is why there are so many theological variations on the events leading up to the closing of the Age.

    Revealed by Revelation

    This argumentative subject polarises Christians into becoming extremists or simply uninterested. It is never comfortable to encounter a Last Days zealot who wants to force-feed you his latest ‘understanding’ of the Book of Revelation. Such people usually drive their points home dogmatically, leaving no place for other opinions. If you dare to offer your meagre understanding you are shouted down or berated into submission until you can finally make your excuses and escape into the cool night air.

    Indeed, biblical prophecy is clouded, hidden from the minds of those who would be forewarned and flee from the wrath to come. Prophetic warnings require some degree of interpretation. Even Daniel, a man with great powers of discernment, had to have his visions interpreted by the angel who delivered them.

    So too, the Book of Revelation was given by revelation, and requires revelation from God to understand its meaning. Our powers of reasoning cannot take us beyond our comprehension. We require the impartation of heavenly understanding to properly interpret most scriptures, and those pertaining to End Times are no different.

    The High Priests

    The high priests of modern society are our scientists. This fraternity now prophesies the future and dispenses sacraments. These modern-day Pharisees are clothed in pious white laboratory coats rather than the priestly garb of yesteryear. They claim to be purveyors of truth, foretelling of global warming, mass extinctions and rising sea levels.

    Reason no longer permits religion to hold sway over western culture. The world proudly declares that scientific understanding has superseded such outdated superstitions and mumbo-jumbo for we are educated people (all too often educated beyond our intelligence)!

    Science claims to be able to save humanity from its woes, and let’s face it, it truly has made remarkable contributions to our quality of life. Over the past century, scientific and technological achievement has developed at a fantastic rate. And advancements show no sign of abating. What will the world look like in one hundred years? Will faith exist as the modern world exchanges the truth of God for scientific facts!

    Papal Science

    Science is now the religion of the western world and its word is infallible, all too reminiscent of the corrupt papacy of the dark ages. Often, governments will not take decisive action without scientific evidence to support their decisions. This, they call, evidence-based decision-making. Science seems to be able to establish proof for things where wisdom or a little common sense would be better advisers, but are rarely called upon for counsel. Science proudly sees itself as having a monopoly on truth.

    Now sociology, psychology, politics and other peripheral disciplines claim to be legitimate sciences alongside chemistry, biology and physics. These ‘grey sciences’ apply scientific method to many social ills and reach evidence-based conclusions which are sometimes mere folly.

    The peer-review process of the more reputable scientific literature was once an effective filter straining out questionable conclusions and poor science. Now, this process is softened in many of the weaker scientific journals. The outcome is that bad science is not culled from the good, and so poor conclusions are often presented to support even poorer decision-making. Conclusions coming from
