At Westlake High School, American soccer player Andrew Christopher Brees started his football career as a quarterback. He then decided to enroll at the University of Purdue and led the Boilermakers to match the Big Ten Championship and Rose Bowl. At Purdue University, he had a successful college soccer career and was one of the most decorated players in the history of Purdue and the Big Ten Conference. Brees set 13 records for the Big Ten Conference, two NCAA records, and he set 19 records for Purdue University during his college. In many passing categories, Andrew Brees continues to remain on the top as the Big Ten record holder, including completions (1,026), yards (11,792), and attempts (1,678). The San Diego Chargers picked Andrew around the NFL Draft during the team's first pick in 2001. Andrew received the first of several Pro Bowl picks in 2004, just before transferring to the New Orleans Saints in 2006.
