    WHO IS HOWARD STERN?

    Howard Stern is an American personality on radio and television, a comedian, and an author. He is widely known for his radio program, The Howard Stern Show , which garnered attention from 1986 to 2005 when it was syndicated nationwide on the terrestrial radio. Ever since 2006, Howard has been broadcasting on Sirius XM Satellite radio. While studying at Boston University, Howard had his first occupation on the radio. From 1976 to 1982, he worked at WRNW in Briarcliff Manor, New York. He works at WCCC in Hartford, Connecticut, at the WWWW station in Detroit, Michigan. Later on, transferred to the WWDC station found in Washington, D.C. Howard has established his on-air personality and has been a monumental and controversial figure in radio and other media.


    Howard Allan Stern was born on January 12, 1954, Ben and Ray Stern's second child. His mother, Ray, was an inhalation therapist. At the same time, his father, Ben, served in the U.S. Army before becoming a radio engineer at WHOM located in Manhattan, New York. Howard grew up in Jackson Heights in Queens, New York, U.S.A. He and his family later moved to the area of Roosevelt in New York, specifically in the Long Island area. Howard dreamt of being a radio star at the early age of five.
