I'm a Native Texan, born and raised close to the heart of the great Lone Star state. I was born in January of 89’ and got to grow up during a great time, I honestly don’t consider myself a Millennial, and really hate that title. I Co-Own INDIE/pendent Book Services and a full-time mother/housewife, as well as a Lupus Warrior. Having Lupus, means a life of inside living, and the sun is known as my arch-nemesis, my personal kryptonite. I wanted to leave a legacy behind, sometime my kids could one day look back on and say, yeah my mom did that. Thanks to the encouragement of friends and family, I found a passion in writing paranormal romance books. Anything fantasy usually suits my novels and me tend to be able to reach anyone in multiple genres. Most of my story ideas come to me in the most unexpected time and places, such as my dreams. They will plague me non-stop until I get my rear up and write it out. I like to explore to new types of characters such as Sandmen and Boogeymen for example. I really wanted to give them their own world, such as A Sandman’s Forbidden Love. God has granted me success that I never imagine was possible, which lead me to my obsession with the paranormal. Now, I know shifter aren’t real but Angels are another story. So Angels are also a part of my obsession, I will sit on the computer doing extensive research on both Sandmen and Angels trying to get my facts straight. Then, on the side, I create Art Journals that can be cross generational from thirteen to sixty years younger, My goal with these types of books are to reach people who need that extra feel good in their lives.

Monsters Under The Bed - Kristen Collins
Prologue
By royal decree of Queen Ana, Queen of the Sandmen, all children shall be under the supervision of their favorite stuffed animal! That special toy will be enchanted with the magic of our people to keep watch over the innocent and even protect them if necessary from the monsters that did not die off with their masters from the Battle of the Clouds and may harm these innocent children. This was around the time I was found in the Realm of Nightmares as a child before my reign started. Your task as Sandmen is to go out and enchant your children’s favorite toy and gain reports from the toys about anything that may happen.
As Queen, I stood tall with my chin held high as my brother, Prince Niall, the Commander of the Brotherhood of Arrows, announced the newest decree. The world was a fallen one and as long as evil exists, there would always be nightmares and things that go bump in the night.
My mind drifted as I thought about the newest task. Richie, my King, leaned over and whispered into my ear, You’re wandering, Love,
he said as he kissed my cheek.
Hmm?
I answered distractedly.
He chuckled at me as I snapped out of my stupor and the people bowed in dismissal. Respectfully, I bowed back as they filtered off in all directions.
Sister, where is your mind at? I almost stepped on your foot to wake you up,
Niall laughed jokingly.
I know, I know...
I answered as I turned to walk away.
Richie wrapped his arm around me, pulling me close, What’s wrong, Ana?
I can’t stop thinking about her today, Richie, or that she’s been gone for so long now.
Tears started to fall as I remembered.
His hands rubbed up and down my arms comfortingly, "I know, Ana. I think about her all the time, too.
I just need to be alone for a while. I just need to work and keep busy,
I said, walking away from him.
Ana!
Richie called out but I couldn’t look back. I couldn’t handle his grief, too.
My mind wandered back to my child that didn’t make it. She went to live with our ancestors in the stars. The pain in my heart threatened to consume me as I remembered her sweet smile and violet-colored eyes. No one had ever heard of a child being born with a smile and their eyes opened. She was not meant for this world but I would see her again one day.
My sweet Astra who went to be with the stars before she was even out of my womb. Fate could be cruel sometimes, even to supernatural beings. Images of her sweet face imprinted in my memory forever but the soul-crushing heartache of her death would never cease. Even though it had been years, it still felt as if it just happened. Her matching violet eyes and silver curls, oh-so-soft to the touch. One day I would know her. I’m sure she was with my biological parents in the eternity of the stars. They would watch over her until Richie and I joined her in the future. That small comfort gave me hope.
Chapter 1 - The Orphan
Sharon
Lieutenant Twinkleton, bring back Sir Snugglestiltskin right now!
I yelled, chasing after my pitbull.
Lieutenant Twinkleton jutted left to right, trying to avoid me. He was in a playful mood earlier that morning when we woke up. I felt winded chasing him through the gravestones as I stopped and leaned over on my legs, breathing hard, trying to catch my breath. I looked around and saw a stick lying on the ground. Quickly, I snagged it and waved it in front of Lieutenant Twinkleton to entice him.
Looking around the graveyard and back at the little shack, I was thankful that at least it had four walls and a fireplace to keep warm at night. The wind had a bite to it as fall was making itself known now. The sun was starting to set and my stomach began to rumble.
I patted my knee, Lieutenant Twinkleton, are you hungry? Let’s eat, boy! C’mon!
The door was left open and as we walked inside, I reached into the pile in the corner of the room to find some food I stole from the outside market earlier that day.
Lieutenant Twinkleton whimpered as I inspected what was left, Don’t worry, boy. I’ll get more.
Queen Ana
The night was cooler than normal as I landed in the abandoned graveyard, heading to the old schoolhouse that was built back in the early 1900s. I looked around and listened to the crickets chirp, the frogs ribbit, and admired the stars painted across the darkened sky. It was a beautiful sight but a strange one to feel a child’s presence in. I could see a glow coming from inside through the window of the old schoolhouse.
I tiptoed softly across the grass to the window and peeked inside. Cuddled up in a sleeping bag by the lit fireplace was a little girl, no older than ten with a Pitbull dog, clinging to her teddy bear. My heart ached to see this child alone in the world but she was not the only one we ran across nightly and
