FOREWORD
Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem. In the Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.
This explanation of the Quran is based on many authentic Tafseer of the Quran by eminent and trustworthy scholars in the past and present. The translation of the Quran and the sayings of the Prophet (SAWS) into English are not the exact words to word translation and only an interpretation of the meaning.

Chapter 1: Introduction
It was Sunday—the day Zaheer learned the explanation of the Quran from his father. Every week they made time to discuss a few verses. His father consulted authentic sources of Tafseer to explain the verses to him.
Zaheer today we are going to learn the explanation of Surah Fatiha which is the opening chapter of the Quran.
I have memorized this Surah.
Alhamdulillah!
Also, I recite it at least seventeen times every day when I pray the compulsory prayers.
"If you add to this the twelve voluntary prayers that you pray then twenty-nine times, and if you further add a minimum one unit of Witr prayer you will recite it 30 times every day."
But I don’t know what it means.
"Yes, most of us just recite it like a ritual without knowing its meanings. If you know its meanings you will develop Khushu—the presence of your heart and mind in the prayer. You won’t be easily distracted in your Salah."
"Exactly. Alhamdulillah that we are learning the meaning of this chapter today."
"Understanding this chapter will beautify your prayer. It is compulsory that you recite Surah Fatiha in the prayer since the Prophet said, ‘There is no Salah for the one who did not recite Al-Fatiha.’"
