#1 The family was on the road to Texas, traveling through No Man's Land, a strip of geographic afterthought in the far western end of the Oklahoma Panhandle. #2 The family made it to No Man's Land, which was Cimarron County, Oklahoma. The children were excited to see how it looked different from Texas, as they had never been that far before.

#3 The Comanche were a Native American tribe that lived in what is now Texas. They were extremely skilled horse riders, and their Charging Cheer was a great asset on the battlefield, as they could charge at the Texans and Europeans with great efficiency.
