About this ebook

The bottoms of her eyes drifted to the left as did her hair. This effect made her look sly. It was not a look she had coifed or sought out. It was the look she was born with. True, she could have combed her hair differently to lessen the effect. If she had combed her hair at all, it would have lessened the effect. Because she looked sly, people thought Capri knew things, even when she did not. Most people thought she was called Capri, as short for Capricious. Actually, it was because her mother was colorblind and thought her Red hair was Capri, or Deep Sky Blue. Actually, her hair was scarlet with touches of vermillion. People thinking that Capri knew much more than she actually did eventually got her into trouble, the day a Dinosaur lumbered into their town.

    Introduction

We’ve all known that little child who knows way too much. I may have even been one of them. I knew lots of very long words way before I should have. Perhaps that was due to hearing Jiminy Cricket sing En-cyc-lo-pedia, E-n-c-y-c-l-o-p-e-d-i-a. Or perhaps hearing Mary Poppins sing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. But more likely it was due to my mother having me try to read German, French, and Latin when I was three or four. It may have also been due to having both parents being teachers, a grandmother who proof read newspapers until she was 104, and an older sister who knew much more than I ever did.

My older sister Bunni took all her books home on the first day of first grade and read them all that night. Read, comprehended, and memorized them. Later in life she read entire libraries of books. We called her The Walking Encyclopedia. She almost put Google out of a job.

Yes, Bunni was a bibliophile, a savant, a cognoscenti, and a maven. But mostly
