My Dear’s true life story begins when she was born in 1914. Her story involves females who were much more than the average black wom a n living in the 1900s . My Dear has been on my mind for months , and I ’ve often though t about her even more so because of her fast approaching 100 th birthday. My Dear is my Grandmother Millie ’s baby sister. Millie was my father Hartrell ’s mother who lived 92 years. Honie was My Dear’s middle sister who lived 96 years. I hope some of their longevity is passed down from them to me . On a Saturday morning I asked Ray if he wanted to take a ride to Fresno and spend the weekend with M y Dear and her daughter Bettye . H e said ok when do you want to leave? By the way , Ray Clark is my husband who My Dear would refer to Ray as a kind and gentle man . Ray love s M y Dear just as much as I d o.
