Help I'm Having A Miscarriage - Joseph Hall

    INTRODUCTION

YOU WERE BORN WITH A PURPOSE!

Do not be alarmed! You have the right book in your hands. If you have ever experienced trials, tragedies and failures, that placed your GOD given purpose at risk, this book is for you. If you are at a point in your life where you are at the edge of giving up, because of life’s way of mishandling you, again, this book is definitely for you. Each of us are here for a reason and being purposed makes it practically impossible to simply exist. However, fulfilling that purpose is hard work. It comes with a multiplicity of oppositions and adversities. Nevertheless, GOD has placed within each of us, an arsenal of tools and weaponry that will assist us in fulfilling purpose and destiny.

The concept of carrying purpose is very similar to the concept of pregnancy. In pregnancy there are certain measures that need to be taken, for the baby to be born healthy. There are nine months of hormonal changes, physical transformation and more. It is an intricate process that brings forth a beautiful result; that is, if the woman escapes the high-risk stages of miscarriage. A miscarriage is defined as, "a natural loss of the products of conception; spontaneous abortion or stillbirth."¹ Basically, a miscarriage is when a pregnant woman loses the baby (death); while it is yet in her womb. The idea of miscarriage symbolizes distress, loss and failure. A miscarriage also carries with it, potential health risks for the mother; both physically, emotionally and psychologically.

This book doesn’t really focus on physical miscarriages. In this book the motif of miscarriage does deal with distress, loss and death. Yet, it is used to compare the duress, misplacement and dissolution that may attempt to threaten our purpose. When we lose sight of our purpose due to circumstances that occur in various phases of our life, we too are exposed to significant risks.

The focus of this book is to delve into the process of learning how to make sound decisions, during critical phases in this life; that will prevent spiritual miscarriages. Situations that affect our spiritual life may endanger our effective use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit; which may lead to unbelief, weak faith or backsliding. This is the reason that GOD left us resources to help us carry the purpose, in which he placed within us, to full term. Though we may encounter obstacles; we are equipped with all the help that we need, all we must do is, access it.

Philippians 4:13 proclaims that, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"². This happens to be one of the most confessed Bible passages, but sometimes the one that is not truly believed by most. We must believe that we can really do all things through Christ. Our help comes from GOD who made Heaven and Earth. It’s by His grace that we are here, and His grace is sufficient to make us who we are called to be and produce the purpose that He predestined us to carry out. Understand this, there is no harm in seeking help from Christ Himself; even if we feel it’s undeserved. In one of his publications, Become A Better You, Pastor Joel Osteen stated, You needn’t go through life with that nagging feeling;- GOD is not pleased with me. I’d be a hypocrite to ask for His help after all the mistakes I’ve made"³. GOD’s resources are available to us.

There are no promises of a perfect life, but we have the perfect source. Regardless of the risks associated with carrying purpose, miscarrying is not an option for those of us that are called, chosen and destined for greatness. You and I may face setbacks, but we must stand firm on the words written in Jeremiah. GOD has plans for you. He has a purpose for your life and wants to see you succeed. Take this journey with me as I share with you, my story. Don’t give up! Don’t surrender to your circumstances, because there is a solution. There is resolve. It all begins with a purpose driven and spiritual mindset. ⁴You must focus on those things before you and press on toward that higher call; which is in Christ JESUS.

    CHAPTER ONE

We All Need Help To Succeed!

When we entered this world, we all entered under different circumstances. Whether our mother had a C-section or pushed us naturally down her birth canal, we all needed assistance in getting here. If you were born before the 90’s like me, it’s a great possibility that once you made your arrival, the doctor held you upside down and gently smacked you on the bottom. This medical practice was not done to harm the baby, but to help it gain it’s very first breath. If the baby cried out, this was a positive sign to everyone that the baby was alive!

Now, let’s compare that analogy to our life in Christ. Each of us came to Christ under different circumstances. Despite the differences, none of us can take this walk alone. Think about the moment that you surrendered your heart to Christ. I can recall my own experience. Although I was young, I was offered the right hand of fellowship in a powerful, Holy Ghost filled church service. I was not alone and others rejoiced in my new birth into the body of Christ.

Similar to a newborn baby, we come into our faith walk needy and dependent; solely relying on GOD to help us live purposefully. ⁵ The bible states, "...if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Because we have become anew," we must seek help in order to fulfill our purpose. The great thing about it, is that, we don’t have to look too far to find help, because GOD sent His son and the Holy Spirit. GOD established Help for us before we were ever born.

⁶Science shows that the full cycle of life is goes from the prenatal, infancy, toddler, preschooler, grade schooler, teen, young adult, adult and then into senior citizen hood. Of all the different phases of development, the most miraculous phase to me is the prenatal stage.

This process intrigued me so much, that I phoned a doctor and close friend of mine to get more clarity on the process. He began like this, "Imagine this: when a female egg gamete (ovum) combines with a sperm gamete it forms a zygote. Then, the zygote divides rapidly into two identical cells called blastomeres during a process that is termed, cleavage. Afterwards, the cells divide again; while traveling along the fallopian tube to get to the uterus. After the diploid zygote arrives in the uterus, it officially starts the germinal stage. Then, pregnancy happens!" Now, if you are like me, the extensive medical vernacular that my friend used had me a little lost. Let me clarify: byway of sexual intercourse or insemination the female egg is fertilized by the male’s sperm. Then, the fertilized egg journeys to and attaches to the uterus wall; there life begins.

What a miraculous and intricate process to think about. The most astonishing aspect for me, is seeing the meticulous nature of GOD in this process. Then, the Holy Spirit spoke to me saying, "Do you see how important you are to me?" It is amazing to think that GOD loves us so much, that He would orchestrate each, tiny facet of our being and attach to that, purpose. You are so significant that the insignificant hairs that you involuntarily shed and leave in your brush or shower daily are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many…" (Luke 12:7, NIV).

When we take a closer look at the Greek meaning of zygote, we will discover that the term means, "yoked." This is a great place to highlight; it is the zygote that carries both parents’ genes. They possess every essential element needed for development, within its DNA. It is the factor that determines the characteristics of the developing organism.

Isn’t it amazing how GOD in his infinite wisdom already predestined the process it would take to get us here? Neither of our parents had to instruct their bodies on any of the steps for us to get here. Now, there was work involved, but GOD made the process easy. GOD so designed it that He has already encrypted our purpose with success. Our purpose has all the essential elements needed to properly develop. All we need to do is yield ourselves to Him and watch Him cultivate us into what He has purposed for our life.

The creation, as detailed in the book of Genesis is another great example of GOD's predestined order and establishment of help for humanity! He knew what was needed in the earth to ensure man’s survival and He simply spoke that into existence. From the great Texas pines, massive and tiny bodies of water, to exotic fruits, plants and animals; all that we need for proper living is here. What we call nature is GOD’s provision; His aid to us. Adam and Eve didn’t have any problem with living because The Creator was their help. Even after the fall of man, GOD became the first tailor for our sake. The relationship ripped by Adam’s disobedience and Eve’s naivety was "cross-stitched" back together on ⁷Gûlgaltâ’s hill; providing you and I a chance to get things right in our own lives.

Redemption and salvation were two of the greatest gifts that GOD prepared for us, prior to our birth. David detailed it best in Psalm 51 that we are, ... born in sin and in inequity shaped… Okay, David did not mean babies are born sinning, but it was a sincere confession of his own sinful heart to GOD. Over two thousand years ago, the greatest help we would ever receive was born into this world. That hand of help was not meant only for those alive during JESUS’s time. His sacrifice was for everyone before and after Him. Those who saw JESUS in the flesh had the opportunity to receive salvation directly from Christ, physically and spiritually. We all can embrace salvation.

If we know that help existed before we were born, then why do we fail to tap into the greatest privilege that we have? It still puzzles me. It would be like someone wanting to live without ever eating or drinking. A life without utilizing the bare necessities, isn’t a life. Let’s look a little deeper into the spiritual birthing process and what is needed, so that you avoid miscarrying your purpose.

    The Birthing Process

One of the greatest wonders of humanity is the birthing process. Whether it is birthing a new vision for our family, relationships, career, business, church, or for our personal life; it is important that we all learn how to embrace the gift of help.

We are daily living out our story and every chapter will not be filled with sunshine and smiles. Being on top of the world isn’t an everyday experience. Some chapters in our story reveal our human struggles, fears, doubts, hurts and pains. I am convinced that there are many stages that lead to our success. One can obtain success, but not without any lessons (failures). One cannot birth greatness, without going through some level of discomfort; thus, my analogy of giving birth. I believe that this process helps give to us a more relevant point of reference by which we can identify as we strive to reach full our potential.

For some, the birthing purpose may be starting a foundation and feeding thousands of people around the world. Maybe, you’re one of the greatest business minds of our day and you have an invention that can improve the way humanity lives. For others, it may be being a caretaker of your community and having a dream to get at-risk youth, off the streets and into productive programs that will give them life skills. You may be a spiritual leader who wants to take church beyond the four walls, developing better ways to help serve your community and abroad. Whatever you have in your heart
