#1
The secret is to rise above the workload, find ways to make yourself less busy, and make room for higher-value activities. You can’t do this if you’re busy doing everything.
#2
The most successful people aren’t the ones who had less to do. They had more time to add value, regardless of how busy they were.
#3
When you’re an employee, your value to the company is directly related to the hours you put in. When you’re a manager, your value to the company is no longer based on the hours you put in, but on the outcomes that you generate.
#4
The first step towards becoming a great leader is to focus on yourself and give yourself time to think. You can do this by delegating and hiring talented people, and setting clear goals and deadlines.
#5
The right kind of productive selfishness and laziness motivates and allows you to take care of yourself, thus improving your ability to lead and help others.
#6
It’s important to remember that while you may not be able to work as many hours as your peers, you still want to put in the hours. Do not let your over-extended hours become a liability for your company.
#7
Do not be afraid to cut out things that aren’t important to you. People will notice if you are delivering real value, not just working hard.
#8
Successful people don’t do everything. They drop the ball on all kinds of things. They disappoint people. But if they are successful, what you will notice is that they have a ruthless focus on the things that are most important to them.
#9
The most successful leaders are able to withstand the constant pressure and get the important tasks done, regardless of how many obstacles are thrown in their way.
#10
It is your duty as an employee to offer solutions to the tasks your employer gives you, whether those tasks are modified or not. You must rework the workload if need be in order to deliver the results required.
#11
Help your boss with her thinking, not just do everything you’re told. This will help you grow and be more valuable to the company in the long run.
#12
High performers are the ones who come up with a thoughtful plan for what needs to be done and how to go about it. They recognize that they can’t do everything alone, so they offer their input and help the company execute its strategy.
#13
Keep a list of everything your boss asks for, and make recommendations about what to prioritize, based on the context of business and the content of these two lists.
#14
Ruthless Priorities are the tasks that are most important to your business. You are willing to sacrifice some things to make sure these tasks get done, even if that means taking extra time or
