About this ebook
A delightful new cozy mystery from USA Today bestselling author Amanda Flower!
There's fowl play afoot on the farm
Shiloh Bellamy has saved her family's farm from financial ruin—but now what? She's barely scraping by on the farm's new organic business model and the fall festival she organized to drum up business comes to a screeching halt when the body of a prominent townswoman is discovered underneath a scarecrow in a nearby field. Worst of all, the evidence points to Shiloh's childhood best friend, Kristy, as the prime suspect.
Between cooking up delicious treats made with her farm's produce, convincing her cantankerous father to let her do things her own way, and dealing with a newcomer in town who could be serious competition for her customers, Shiloh doesn't have time to wade into a murder investigation. But with a killer on the loose and suspicious activity circling closer and closer to Shiloh and the people she loves, she realizes there's nothing to do but roll up her sleeves and get down to the dirty work of finding the killer and clearing Kristy's name once and for all.
This book is perfect for cozy mystery readers and fans of Kate Carlisle, Denise Swanson, and Bree Baker!

Reviews for Put Out to Pasture

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Shiloh Bellamy has returned to the family farm and is continuing her efforts to restore the farm to profitability. Her latest effort is a farm fair showcasing her baked goods made with her organic treats. Crowds are more than what she expected and things seem to be going good until one of prominent citizens is found murdered in the cornfield. Shiloh has more problems with her new neighbor as well as her BFF being a prime suspect. The story was entertaining , not just the mystery but the characters' interaction.I look forward to another installment.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Put Out to Pasture by Amanda Flower has Shiloh Bellamy hosting Fall Daze at Bellamy Farm. Shiloh has baked up hundreds of her organic treats to sell to the attendees. Shiloh is surprised at how many people showed up for the event and stay even after the loud argument between Kristy Brown and Minnie Devani (attendees got an extra show). The last of the festival goers are leaving for the day when Shiloh hears a woman screaming. Quinn and Shiloh race over to find Minnie dead at the foot of the scarecrow. Evidence at the scene points to Kristy as the guilty party. Shiloh is quick to dig into the case. She is not about to let her bestie go away for murder. Put Out to Pasture is the second Farm to Table Mystery. It can be read as a standalone if you have not read Farm to Trouble. I like Amanda Flower’s engaging writing style. I know when I start one of this author’s books, that I will quickly be drawn into the tale. The characters are delightful. They are warm, friendly, and relatable (there are one or two exceptions). Shiloh Bellamy is working hard to restore Bellamy Farm despite her father’s negative comments and unhelpfulness. I enjoy the descriptions of the Bellamy Farm and the surrounding area. The author’s word imagery brings the scenery to life. The mystery was a fun one to solve. The victim was not well-liked which means there were several good suspects. There is misdirection to distract you from the true killer. The clues are there if pay close attention. The reveal wraps up the whodunit nicely. I thought Amanda Flower created a fun and unique mystery. I just love Shiloh’s little pug. He is a cutie. Shiloh has additional trouble when the other half of Bellamy Farm is sold by the developers to Tanner Birchwood who has the same vision as Shiloh. I am looking forward to Shiloh’s next adventure. Put Out to Pasture is a refreshing tale with a fun fall festival, deep fried delights, a scarecrow crime scene, a framed friend, a precious pug, a new can-do neighbor, and a cunning killer.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amanda Flower has done it again, another cozy mystery hit, she never disappoints me!This is part of a series, but can be read alone, the author does a wonderful job of making you feel that you haven’t missed anything.Shiloh is trying to save her family farm, and in the process has a Fall Festival, and you can guess it, yup, a body, and not just anyone, but cranky Minnie Devani, and we are off finding whom the culprit is. Did I guess right? Nope!I wish there was a bit of romance for Shiloh, but so far, just when I think there is a possibility, another one pops up and then none.I can’t wait for the next book in this series, the pages flew for me!I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Poisoned Pen Press, and was not required to give a positive review.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Michigan, cozy-mystery, relationships, small-town, rural, falsely-accused, family, friendship, vindictive, murder, murder-investigation, amateur-sleuth, law-enforcement, farming, farm-animals, pets*****Well done whodunit! Lots of interpersonal drama centered around some truly unpleasant characters, accusations by the local law only looking for the most expedient answer, and our sleuth's best friend finding herself at the top of the suspect list. Add in a new neighbor, a US Marshall bringing a whole new aspect to the case, a Siamese cat, a pet Pug, and more. I really loved it on this snowy afternoon.I requested and received a free ebook copy from Poisoned Pen Press via NetGalley. Thank you!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Shiloh is trying to make a go of her family farm, but she is just scraping by while improving the farm. One of the towns residents is found murdered, with a scarf belonging to Shiloh’s best friend wrapped around her neck. Investigations unearth some startling truths, and Shiloh tries her best to prove her friend is innocent. Meanwhile, working the farm, dealing with her dad, and discovering she may have more than friendly feelings for an old friend are pulling her in several directions. It’s a nice story, with equally nice main characters. The mystery may not be an intense one, but there are some tense moments. The enjoyment of story comes not so much from the solution of the mystery as it does from the interactions of the characters. A new neighbor should add some interest in future books, and maybe a friendship will develop into something more. For sure, it’s a well written and entertaining tale.
