ABOUT THE BOOK
Life, as you know, is not a honey cake. It consists of a series of ups and downs, joys and disappointments, black and white stripes. This book is about how, like Baron Munchausen, to pull yourself out of the quagmire of life’s turmoil, gain confidence, abilities, and again, take the way to success. The author did a titanic work - he processed a ton of valuable information, systematized and conceived it, and issued this action guide. From real stories (including from his life), he derived basic principles that can help a person choose and create themselves, and at the same time, not scatter into dozens of small what-I-losers.
We really can choose how we live; we make this choice ourselves. Indeed, sometimes we don’t even suspect what we are capable of at one or another moment of our life. I like this book because it is immediately clear; the author experienced all these ups and downs. The author chose very vivid and original examples from his life precisely, as they say, by subject. Clearly, he chose his life path himself, his path to success, without knowing what awaits him at the time of choice.
The main and perhaps the principal postulate of the book is to show courage right now. Erkin says, Choose yourself from a thousand options,
and he explains how to do it. Therefore, do not delay for later; choose yourself right now! Absolutely true: you are the only one who holds you in place. A miracle does not come by itself; we must accomplish it. If you do this, you certainly won’t understand how to change the world; you won’t even notice you are changing it.
But here’s what’s for sure: if you don’t take it yourself and as a bold decision for you necessary as air, no one will do this for you. And sadly, life will pass by. We are all unique in our way; everyone has their own life and way. However, there is no single true way, and every way begins from this moment. Have you chosen yourself at this moment?
Do you feel the fear? Do you have doubts? You can, despite everything, show courage. Then move forward, without fear and doubt! Believe, and then all paths will lead to a happy ending.

President of the Association of Publishers of the Kyrgyz Republic,
Chief Editor of the newspaper Healthy Lifestyle.
LIFE AS A CANVAS
Initially, the canvas size is predetermined as a genotype of a certain life expectancy. How we manage the canvas is our phenotype and attitude towards life. Someone recklessly treats their canvas, while someone else guards, protects, and takes care of theirs.
But the most important is what and how we draw on this life canvas. If our parents draw some outlines on the edge of our childhood, teaching us the basic rules of life, we draw it ourselves after 14-16 years. We can draw our own life in different ways. Someone only draws what the environment tells them. However, they might want to draw something entirely different but are afraid of others' critical opinions.
We may like our drawing; we can be proud of every line, but someone might hate it, considering it an ugly caricature. Sadly, someone destroys their canvas, whether with a knife, acetic acid, or other means.
Imagine someone paints a picture while drunk or under a narcotic kef, when everything seems amazing at inebriation moment but on a sober head - just horror. What is the value and price of the painted picture? How much are you offering for it now, and how much would you ask for it? $100 or $10,000? The question is multifaceted. Can one learn from your picture, or do you want to run past?
What is the quintessence of the creation process of your life picture? What do you portray on your canvas?
How is it possible to get pleasure from the drawing process, from other artists, from whom you can have experience, technology, and ideas? How do you capitalize your canvas?
How do you become a true and original artist (of your life) who is proud of their work despite a completely new approach and criticism? How can one become a great artist of his life on a piece of canvas he still has, and which size is obviously unknown?
Everyone believes in something: in God, consciousness and subconsciousness, Tao, karma, spirits, intellect, aliens, qi (ch’i) or Prana, and so on. However, what a person believes in, the subject of his faith has no special role. The main role is the power of faith and its usage.
Let’s name all objects of belief or credo in one word, for example, higher intellect (HI);
for transformation, it doesn’t matter whether it’s inside or outside.
The higher intellect
arises in steady thoughts of one person or with the same thoughts of several people. Each of them will think something of his own, which affects his life and what needs to be addressed, followed, and studied.
In a period of difficulty or joy, each of us periodically refers to this higher intellect.
Our HI
can be shared with anyone or individual for ourselves, and they see, hear, and feel us, our thoughts, actions, and desires.
HI
is not something hostile. Conversely, it is OUR, wishing only good and success to us. Physically, it cannot implement something directly but is ready to assist us in any possible way. Everyone has their HI.
Certainly, some people hear and communicate with theirs, while some do not hear and deny theirs. Similarly, someone knows about the force of gravity and uses this knowledge, while someone does not believe and know about it.
INTRODUCTION
I want you to learn how you can train your own experience to change and get at least some power over what is happening in your brain. Most people are slaves of their brain: everything in their life happens as if they are sitting in the backseat of a car, and someone else is driving, leading their car where they consider necessary.
Many people are constantly worried about what could happen and feel bad when things don’t go as expected or planned. However, by changing their thinking, they can rejoice over what might happen. In reality, most of us spend more time studying instructions for using household appliances rather than studying how our brain works.
In this book, I would like to focus on learning to control our consciousness, the unconscious, and particularly, our perception. In my opinion, most people do not need so much in psychotherapy- they need to learn HOW to organize their thinking process, the process of perception of the world as in learning how to organize their thinking, the process of perception of the world around them, in a natural and absolutely non-stressful way to achieve the so-called success (success - not from the point of view of surrounding people or fashion, mainstream, but by their own opinion, whatever it can be). I am absolutely sure everyone can become talented and achieve excellence in any field of life they like. And I think this book is designed to help every reader achieve the changes they seek.
The person’s model of behavior and life consists of his perception and awareness of his situation. According to how we feel the world around us and what we think about it, as we impose our own experience and attitude to this world on the current situation, there are different strategies and patterns of behavior. That is, all the people, in absolutely identical situations, act differently, based on differences in perception. Accordingly, the question is what kind of options the person has - what kind of behavior he has in one or another situation.
Among others, it is a question of what kind of statement/attitude or belief in something the person has, based on his education, experience, and knowledge. For example, one of the installations often used in various lectures, training, and books reads as follows: If someone can do something, then you can do it, too.
The only question is how to do it using your experience. And you need to ask some questions: What settings do you have? Where did they come from? And how can you change them since different individuals have completely different views about the same subject or object?
For example, one worries, considering his capabilities are very limited, and the other is completely calm because he knows he can learn everything that other people can do. These are two diametrically opposite installations to form various patterns of behavior. Figuratively saying, if one, in the beginning, does not believe this path is within his access, then it is unlikely he will succeed. But to the one who is convinced in success, everything will be fulfilled. And if the first one, not achieving something, strengthens in the belief that he can’t do anything, the second, using the power of attitudes, strongly believes he can do all by the day. The two of them ask themselves the same questions: CAN I do this?
and HOW can I do this to make it work?
In the end, most realizations or losses begin with a relationship to a particular object: an obstruction or opportunity, desire or unwillingness. Thus, our attitudes are our mental and behavioral resources, which wholly predetermine our successes and failures.
In recognizing ourselves, it is important to start the study of the learning process. How do we learn anything? What is the control of our own experience? How do we gain experience? Let's imagine a computer called the Human Brain. Our attempts to influence and achieve any result will not get the desired until we learn Programming,
the operation of this computer. So for most people, the brain essentially requires an intelligent task description, a depiction of what needs to be done. That means everyone needs to be able to program
their brain to learn how to evaluate and solve tasks and bring into life what they need and want.
Can we create the image of what we want in our brains? Can we clearly imagine this, or is the picture blurred? In modern sport, there is a concept of fancy training or training of imagination: if you want to learn how to jump into the water correctly, you can make a huge number of attempts and not achieve a perfect jump. But you can imagine in great detail how it looks,
how the muscles of your body behave in this case, how your breathing is carried out and how you feel in general, and achieve results much faster than taking a huge number of unsuccessful attempts. Our experience, that is, what we have learned, cannot be the only reality; it’s all only shared reality, in other words, perception of reality. Events from the past are appreciated differently: one person can consider these events as lessons, while another person perceives them as a failure, and they could be a success for another person.
So how do you learn to use experience? How do you learn to program
your brain? Where appear the obstacles, and how can they be circumvented? Accordingly, most of our perception and behavior originally come from our thinking, not the external environment. I have a task to tell you about the tools for using your brain to avoid failures and achieve goals each of us has.
I want to give an example from my practice. In 1993, I headed Bereke Press, the first independent distribution system for periodicals in Kyrgyzstan. A big organization work of production process had been realized, and after some time, when operational management was already required, frankly, I got bored. And one day, looking through the Evening Bishkek newspaper, I saw a vacancy announcement for the Director position for one of the USAID programs. I was absolutely sure I should take this vacancy. I submitted a resume, and a couple of days later, there was a ring call asking me to bring it again. Imagine my surprise when the situation repeated, and I had to submit the resume for the third time. You won’t believe it, but USAID received my resume in the amount of either 10 or 12 copies.
As I learned later, one of the employees applying for this vacancy systematically destroyed the resume of potential competitors. And her rival was looking for the destroyed resumes, calling up their owners and asking to bring them again. This struggle resulted in an invitation for an interview where I appeared unshaven, uncut, and in a completely democratic sweater. But I was fully confident this position was created for me, and no one could do this job better than me. Moreover, I urged the interlocutors to pay attention to my team from the business company I already had worked with. Amazingly, the natural sequel of the interview was the signed contract.
Having worked for some time at USAID as a Program Director (I must admit this was a rather high position in this organization), I represented it at the donor council of donor organizations in Kyrgyzstan. However, having reached the pinnacle of my career in this organization, I got bored again. And again, the newspaper Evening Bishkek
came to the rescue—the Regional Director of the Dutch Hivos Foundation was required.
