I have seen so many students in my school running home to meet there family but my own is different,I have heard and seen so many people saying having family is sweet which I could see also but my own is different entirely.have also seen so many children relating, playing and having fun with their parents but my own is also different.....I don't know why my family hates me so much am like a disease to them they hate setting there eyes on me. My life is just a deep hell,my dad started hating me since he started coming to my room at night to touch me all because I usually scream whenever he tries to force himself on me, sometimes I wonder he might succeeded in raping me one day......I would have tell my mum about it but I could not tell her because the way she treats me is more worst. I have prayed severally to God to take my life, instead of leaving me to suffer. I don't know what to do anymore,there is no one to run to.... WILL I EVER BE FREE??

Chapter 1

Natalia's pov

I was enjoying my peaceful sleep, I was still dreaming about me and a guy dancing suddenly I felt my body wet.

All my beds were filled with water,all my body was soaked with water.

I stood up lazily to check the person and I discovered it was my mum.

I checked the time and discovered it was 4am in the morning..... Anyways, that is how I wake up early.I sleep late and still wake up early while Eva, my sister, wakes at 7:30 am.

Mummy good morning maI greeted her.

Keep your greetings to yourself you fool, I had woken up to ease myself and I discovered you are still asleep. Are you not supposed to be washing the dishes now huh? she asked.

Am sorry...am sorry mum I said and quickly ran out of the room.

When I reached the kitchen, I felt a sharp pain in my belly and I already knew that it was a menstrual pain.I usually have pains if I am on my period but my mum does not want to know if I am having pains or not.

"I suddenly realised - Omg,ooooh!!! I don't even have a sanitary pad to use . I normally buy it for myself if I have money but It have finished now...I guess I can use a piece of cloth for this time . Because sometimes when I have no money I usually use it and I have almost finished my pads,

I normally use cloth for my periods.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Natalia James. I am 1 9 yrs old, I am staying with my parents and I have a younger sister who is 1 7 yrs,we are not poor in my family let me just say middle class.

My mum is a business woman while my Dad is a banker.... With all this they still allow me to

hawk cupcakes everyday anytime I am back from school_ I think that is okay about me now. I don't know why my family dislikes me, but I have been asking myself the question since. I saw the plates in the kitchen and I almost passed out.....why are there so many dishes today huh.

I picked them and I started washing them, even though I was feeling pains.

I guess I'm the only one awake, because I could not hear sounds again. Maybe my mum has gone back to sleep.

I started feeling cold and also shaking vigorously due to the water she poured on me.

After I finished washing the dishes, I started cooking breakfast and I checked the time and it was 5'o o'clock.....I am a dead meat.

I quickly left the kitchen to wash the dirty clothes because if she is awake and not done she is going to beat me for it.

I am the one that wash the family cloth every day including my sister's own.

We even have a washing machine but she does not allow me to use it.

After I finished washing the plates, I quickly picked the broom and I swept the whole house. Before I knew it, I finished my work.....

After I finished my work I reached my room and I quickly removed my clothes and entered the bathroom to bath after I finished bathing I checked the time that I was late already which is a normal thing for me so I quickly dressed up on my way to the kitchen to carry my food I met Eva on her way to school.

Eve and I does not stay in the same room her room is more prettier and we'll furnished than my own.....the only thing I have in my room is my cloth and an abandoned bed the bed is even smelling due to the way my mum pours water on it whenever I did not wake up early.

Natalia go and help me to bring my school bag, she said.

What?? Did you mean me?? I asked her

Who else will I be talking to if not you,are you deaf?? She asked.

You must be stupid I said and wanted to pass her.

You heard her clearly you fool,how many times will I tell you to help her to do whatever she asked you mum said and she came out of her room fully dressed.

But mum I was about to say something when she shushed me.

Will you keep quiet, have I not told you not to talk whenever I am talking huh she asked. Am sorry mum I said.

"For that this is your punishment no school for you today, thank God there is no food in the pot again,wash all the toilets in the house and after that you should come to my shop to collect

cupcakes and you must sell everything finished" she said and walked out.

No school for me and they have finished the food today again,why is my life like this?? Why is my life different huh?

Adrian's pov

I waited for Natalia to come to school but I did not see her.

I guess she is not coming again today, something seems strange about her that I don't know. I think she is hiding something from me. Anytime I wanted to follow her to get home she always stopped me.

She looks really poor and tattered even though her beauty still overcomes it.... sometimes I

wonder how she pays her school fees.

Enough about Natalia,let me introduce myself.....my name is Adrian am the only child of my

parents.....my parents are rich and am 18 yrs old.

My best friend is Natalia and I love her so much even though she is older than me.

I don't really understand her....

School will be really boring for me today without her I thought

Chapter 2

My prince this is the drink the maids offered me the drink.

Brother, did you really mean what you are talking about? Sophia asked.

Yes I am serious dear, I am tired of staying here. I want to go and enjoy myself I answered her. So when will you be back and where are you thinking of spending your vacation? she asked. Well, I am going to New York but don't worry I will not spend more than three months I said.

Three months is too long. I will really miss you she said.

Have not even told Dad and mum,so chill....I don't know if they will agree or not I said and

rolled my eyes.

My sister is really a pain in the ass to me,she can ask too many questions.

I am already getting tired of her questions.

Brother since you will be going on a vacation come and take me out she asked.

I did asif I did not hear her and I concentrated on my phone with my head phone in my ears. Ryan please now, I want ice cream she cried and removed my headphones from my ear. I know if I did not answer her I would not rest for the rest of the day.

Ok,ok fineI said and stood up.

Immediately I said it she jumped and hugged me happily.

You are the best bro in the world, she said.

I grabbed my car key and we both left the house.

Natalia's pov

After they left the house, I went to the kitchen and checked the pot to see if I would see something to scrub but to my utmost surprise they poured water in the pot.

Tears streamed out of my eyes and I entered my room to remove my school uniform.

And I wore my clothes, I only have six clothes and they are not even good again but I still managed them.

I left the room and I entered the first toilet and bathroom to wash. We have three toilets and a bathroom in the house.

I picked the sponge and washed it absentmindedly. My mates are in school while I am at home. I don't really know the essence of me going to school because I only go two times in a day. The time I attended the most is three times....I am really tired of my life.

The thought of tonight again brought tears into my eyes.....there is no way he will not come today again.

I don't know what came over my dad,he likes me before but since he started attempting to have sex with me and I did not agree he now even hates me more than my mum I thought.

I washed and washed everything, I checked the time and it was already 1 1 am.

After I finished washing it, I locked the house.I wanted to wear my slippers and I discovered it was cut.

I became confused,and I didn't know what to do,and if I did not reach my mum's shop early she would kill me.

mum and Dad.

I walked towards her.

Mum good afternoon ma I greeted her.

She did not answer, she just hissed at me.

Are you just supposed to be coming by this time....see the time that you are coming huh, what are you doing at home?? she asked and slapped me.

"I have filled the tray with cup cakes, and have been waiting for you since..... just make sure you

sell everything finish.If you did not finish selling it, don't come home" she said.

Yes mum.

Mum I called and scratched my hair.

No answer......

Mum is hungry I spilled it out.

I can't bear the hunger any more,so I have to ask her for food,if it is just a little I will appreciate her.

Say it again, she asked.

I.... said....that I am hungry I stammered.

"So you have the guts to say it in my front you thief, you know what is the hunger that will kill

you" she said and kicked me in my belly.

If you don't sell the cup cakes or my money should not complete you will be a dead meat today she said and left my presence.

Adrian's pov

The whole class was boring today without Natalia, I really missed her.

She is my only friend in school. Many girls want to be my friend because I am very handsome, famous and rich but I did not give them the chance. Some say I am proud but I don't care.

I got down from my car and I was surprised to see my mum's car in the compound.

Why is she back so early today huh I thought.

I twisted her room door happily but she did not notice me, I saw her crying and holding a picture.

Mum, I called.

Immediately I called her and she quickly wiped her tears and kept the picture.

I knew she did not want me to see it. That is the reason why she quickly kept it.

Mum, why are you crying?I asked her.

My baby is not crying she said and hugged me.

I felt like asking her more questions but I kept quiet because I knew she did not want to talk about it

Chapter 3

I carried the cup cakes tiredly and left my mum's shop.

I don't know now that it is a crime to ask my mum for food....I did not even expect her to kick me in my belly.

But why is my life a mess,why is my life so complicated.

I started feeling hungry the most to the extent that I did not know when I picked one cupcake

and ate.

I don't even know if I will be able to sell it.

Some hours later

I could not believe I finished selling everything....I had thought I would not be able to sell everything.

Am really happy that mum will not beat me for not finishing selling it.

I quickly ran home because it was getting late......not only because it was getting late but because I was feeling hungry.

But what is the assurance that I am going to eat out of the food again I thought.

I know what to do,if I am cooking the food I will just steal out of it because this hunger is becoming unbearable for me....if they should not give me out of the food I will know I have

eaten.

Eva's pov

I got down from my car and I realised Natalia is not yet back.

I Was really happy when mum said she is not going to school today.

I really hate her and the reason why I hated her is because she used to take 1st position all the time.

Even though she did not always go to school,she takes 1st position in class.

I don't know how she does it,she is very brilliant while I am not.

I noticed that anytime she shows mum and dad they are not always happy, sometimes they end up beating her.

I really hate her, and I will do everything to frustrate her.

Am really happy when mum and Dad maltreat her, I don't even know why they did not like her. I have also tried my best to take first position in my class but it was all In vain.

I don't even know the reason why she is my elder sister. I am supposed to be older than her while she will be my junior.

I will make sure I try my possible best in order for mum and Dad to stop her from going to school.

My phone beeped and I checked and smiled when I discovered it was my boyfriend.

Natalia's pov

I sighed and entered the house. When I entered I met her in the living room watching television and pressing her phone at the same time.

Why did you come home late huh,ooh so you have started seeing boys now abi.... don't you know the time that I love eating my dinner she asked.

I just looked at her from head to toe and walked out on her.

Had it been my mum at home, I don't have the courage to walk out on my junior sister.

I checked the food roaster and the food there was pasta.

So I started cooking it.

Ryan's pov

After I finished buying the ice cream for Sophia we returned home and that was when she allowed me to rest.

And since that time I have been busy with my laptop replying to some mails, I don't really have time for myself and that is the reason why I want to take this vacation and enjoy it.

My prince has prepared your bath a maid said and bowed.

You can go I said and signalled to her.

I stood up from the bed when I was finally done.

I entered the bathroom and striped myself before sitting on the bathtub.

Adrian's pov

I felt like calling Natalia but she does not have a phone.

The day she told me I could not believe how a girl like her would not have a phone.

Sometimes I wonder if she is on scholarship in our school, because it's rare to see someone like her in our school.

Some people bully her in school because of her hair.

I could see it through her face that she is a strong girl.

I don't even know why she is hiding something about her from me.

I really missed her I thought.

I just pray she comes to school tomorrow.

The door of my room opened and I discovered it was my mum.

My baby, are you not sleeping yet, she asked.

I was about to sleep when you entered, I answered.

Ok she said and covered me with my duvet.

She pecked me before she left the room.

After she left my room, I drifted to dream land.

Natalia's pov

Before I finished cooking the food, I dished it for myself and I quickly ate it.

I checked the door so that they would not catch me.

I am really happy that mum and Dad are not yet back,if not I will not be able to eat out of the food.

I know Eva will be busy with her phone so she will not come to the kitchen.

She doesn't even come to the kitchen. I am the one that cooks and still serves her....the only

time she comes to the kitchen is to make trouble with me.

After I finished cooking the food, I left the kitchen.

I entered my room and removed my clothes and I bathed.

Some minutes later, I heard the sounds of cars honking.

I knew it was my mum and Dad,so I quickly left my room to greet them because if I did not greet them it would still be a problem.

Welcome mum, welcome dad I greeted.

Both of them did not answer me as they entered.

Natalia, Natalia I heard my name.

Where is my money,she asked??.

I quickly entered my room to pick the money and I gave it to her and I was about to leave. Come back here I heard.

Ma?? I asked.

Sir she said sarcastically.

My money is not complete,she said.

And immediately I heard it, my head banged and tears started flowing out of my eyes. What??"

Chapter 4

Natalia's pov

I furrowed my brows in confusion when she said the money is not complete.

Suddenly she started laughing hysterically as soon as she noticed I was confused.

Natalia! She called, her eyes showing a lot of anger and bitterness.

Ma!!.

Have you now become deaf or something because I don't understand you??she asked .

I fixed my eyes on the money and thought of it while my mum was also staring at me, and a smile on her face.

I know the reason why she is smiling so that she will be able to beat me.

It remains the money for one cup cake she said and slapped me.

Tears streamed out of my eyes as she slapped me,that was when I remembered that I ate one out of the cup cakes when I was hungry.

I can't even remember again that I ate a cupcake.

Eva came to the scene, I knew she came to mock me

She glared at me, feeling so much anger like I offended her also.

Why the heck is she here again? I know she will make the matter worse for me now.

I see that you have gut now, I said where is my money? she asked and I received it with another thunderous slap.

I held my cheek with pain.

My sister chuckled immediately and my mum slapped me.I don't know the type of sister that I have instead of her to help me to beg my mum she is mocking me.

Can't you talk,are you deaf and dumb?? She asked.
