R.E. Addison is an Assistant Pastor in South Florida. He and his wife Blanca have two children, Ryan, and Karlie. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religion from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a Master of Business Administration from Ohio Christian University. He has written many plays, including Yeshua’s Thief the Musical and Bamboozling Scrooge, adapted into a book later in 2022. Also, there are plans for the subsequent novels Yeshua’s Slave and Yeshua’s Way.

Abigail's Choice:
The sun was making its appearance after a sleepless night. Abigail's marriage
to a man three times her age loomed in the afternoon. Her brother Asher controlled their estate after the assignation of their father at the hand of a thief. She hoped the marriage would be called off, but her brother proved to be a ruthless as dear old Dad. Plus, the coffers were near empty after the robbery, and the Palatial home was falling into disrepair. No, she was resigned to her fate as the wife of a wealthy Persian winemaker. His name was Marius. He was known throughout the region of Magdala as the maker of the wine and vinegar used in the pickling of the Kinneret Sardine. She was to be one of many wives and even more concubines. It seems the man had an insatiable appetite for women, and she was to be the youngest of the lot. She wanted freedom. The freedom to choose. The freedom to run away, but she was a slave born to circumstance. Under the right sun, she could have lived a life of luxury but fate, it seemed, had other plans. Tears made their debut at the corners of her eyes as she forced herself to get ready. The sun seemed to move ever slowly to the middle of the sky. She would have stopped it in its place if she could. I have to escape, she said under her breath. Her mother lavished perfume on her hair to cover the stench of the makeup. Why do men think painted women are sexy? She thought.
