    This conference has been looming on the horizon for two weeks now. I can't tell you how many times I've practised my pitch. It has at least given me something to focus on besides police interviews and funeral arrangements for my late husband. With no man in my life now, I feel at a bit of a loss.     My old childhood bedroom is incredibly comforting. They haven't changed a single thing. My bed still has rainbows on the sheets. My bedside lamp is still a big penguin that lights up from the inside. There's even still a Robbie Williams poster blu-tacked to the inside of the wardrobe. I was hesitant to give up my apartment, but they insisted. My dad and my uncle went all out and shoved all of my earthly possessions into storage to be sorted out at a later date.
