About this ebook

This book is bravely and unapologetically written with the full awareness that throughout unrevised Christian Church history, certain individuals (like Dr. Michael Servetus burned at the stake with a copy of his book chained to his leg), and even whole European protonations (the Ostrogoths, the Vandals, the Heruli genocidally exterminated) paid the ultimate price for simply believing and trying to share the truth of Who the only true God of the Bible truly is, which was deemed heretical and contrary to widely propagated traditional biblically unsubstantiated and unsustainable misidentification of the God Christians serve and worship.

When professed Christians misidentify the God of the Holy Scripture, this misidentified God ceases to be the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, and becomes an imaginary god no better than the Philistine Baal, the Egyptian Ra, the Greek Zeus, or the Roman Jupiter, These imaginary gods of man's own making become the gods man serve and worship. Thus, man commits idolatry - transgressing the first four of the only true God YHWH's Ten Commandments that He thundered from Mount Sinai, and etched in stone by His own finger!  YHWH is not the God of Israel only but the God of all mankind, for through His only begotten Son, He created man after Their Image and Likeness. Thus, all of mankind owe Him service and worship through His only begotten Son Who is the only Way to His Father, YHWH.

This book is a bold attempt to dissuade the Reader from all forms of idolatry, and to introduce for recognition and acknowledgment the one and only true God of the Bible, the Creator, Who created the heavens, the earth, and seas, and all in them, Who not only created us but also loved us enough to redeem us from sure unresurrectable death and memory-erased eternal oblivion as the result of sin, and reconcile us to Himself through His only begotten Son, so that we can live with Him for all future Eternity in an earth made new.

God According To His Son
Author

A. Leo Camagay

The author who would rather be known as a scribe, considers himself a well-worn stubby pencil in the hand of the mighty one and only true God - the Creator. To the Scribe, the written message presented is of utmost important consideration and must be front and center. To this end, he insists despite convention that his name if required be placed where it will not detract from the message - not on the cover, or at the front but at the end of the message, if at all. The Scribe's lifelong serious earnest search for knowledge and wisdom led him to the Fountain of all Knowledge and Wisdom. He has drunk deeply of its waters and is constrained out of selfless love to invite all to drink of it as well, for by drinking of its waters, one drinks of the Fountain of Life.

God According To His Son - A. Leo Camagay

    Preface

This book God According To His Son in its current form is the dynamically evolving result of a continuing lifetime of striving to know the God spoken of in the Bible—the one and only true God—the Father, and also to know the Father's one and only—the first and the last—begotten Son of God—the Lord Jesus Christ, Who the Father sent.

In the very first part of Christ's longest prayer on record (John 17), the Apostle John quoted the Lord Jesus Christ saying that to know the Father as the only true God and to know the Son Whom the Father sent is Eternal Life (verse 3). This significantly implies that not knowing the Father as the only true God and not knowing Jesus Christ Whom the Father sent, is an unfortunate forfeiture of Eternal Life the Father has freely given through His Son (1John 5:10 - 12).

Beliefs learned during early childhood and youth, diligently reconsidered through personal prayerful study of the Holy Scriptures, ascertains the truthfulness of that which we have been taught in our early years. As we mature into adulthood, we hopefully begin to realize that the Word of God—the Bible, is a mighty cleaver that separates untruths, lies, fiction, myths and fantasy to be discarded from the Truths we must embrace with confidence, tightly uphold, strongly adhere to in practice, and faithfully cherish. Therefore, to be meaningful, reading this book and checking the Bible passages referenced with an open Bible at hand, is highly recommended.

To this end of upholding the Truth in confident certainty because its immutable, omniscient Source is the Truth Who cannot and will not lie (Hebrews 6:17, 18), each declaration in the pages of this volume is referenced to powerful unassailable passages in the Bible. Please note the numbered superscripts generally at the end of a thought phrase, a sentence, or paragraph. This fine small numbers are hyperlinked to their respective number equivalent references in the End Notes section at the back of this book. These provide the relevant Scripture references and/or relevant extra-biblical reference notes to support what is written.

In ebook formats where the use of hyperlinked text is supported, you can go back to where you left the text to check out the hyperlinked references in the End Notes. Know that every 10th reference entry is hyperlinked to the vicinity of the page you left to check out the End Note references that show the Bible passages or the scholarly extra-biblical sources for certain statements written in this book. This is designed for the ebook Reader's convenience by similarly functioning like a book ribbon marker or a finger fixed on the text page the Reader left so that going back to find it is easy after exploring the reference resource at the back of the book.

The Scribe is aware that going back and forth using the End Note references with the ability to get back to the text of the current page being read, is dependent on how far one is to the nearest 10th backlinked reference number that you can click, is a little inconvenient. Ideally, when you click on the hyperlinked superscript reference ¹²³ in the text body, that brings you to the End Note reference number 123 at the back of the book. Subsequently, when you want to flip back to the text page you were reading, all you do is click on the hyperlinked End Note reference assigned number 123 to jump back to the immediate vicinity of the hyperlinked superscript reference number ¹²³ to continue reading. But because of the urgency of the rapidly changing times we are living in show the final movements and way marks of Bible End Time Prophecy are currently quickly finding fulfillment, instead of doing this for every superscript reference the author decided to forego this and publish sooner, so that all who read this book, can at least make the most important choice of one's life while there is still time—an informed choice at that, either to accept the message of this book after reading it; to reconcile and be at peace with the only true God through His only begotten Son in these End Times before mankind’s close of probation; or reject it at the grave peril of his or her soul.

The same principles are applicable to using the Figures in the text body (e.g.- Figure 1) with the Illustrations and Timelines section at the back of the Book. Figure numbers assigned to graphic illustrations in the text are hyperlinked to the appropriate graphic in the back section called Illustration and Timelines which are then backlinked to the text page from where it is referenced.

Be assured that due diligence and care was exhaustively exercised to ensure the content accuracy and hyperlinking of the 1,702 End Note references. If and when the Reader finds content inaccuracy and typographical mistakes and hyperlinking errors, write to the Publisher (BereanRemnant@protonmail.com) so that it can be rectified and the correction included in a future revised edition.

Improvements to make using the references more reader-friendly is underway and additional features like a Subject Index and a Scripture Index are already in the works.

Unless otherwise referenced, Bible verses in this book have been quoted from a 1611 Authorized King James Version copy with a page-centered 1717 Concordance.

    Introduction

We cannot know all of God, for His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts,¹ unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out.² God does things too many to count and too marvelous to comprehend.³ His greatness is beyond all understanding.⁴ The secret things belong to God; but things He revealed, belong to us and to our children, that we may do all the words of His law.⁵It is the intent of this volume to show beyond all doubt the Identity of the only true God as revealed in His Word—the Bible. As God’s Identity is uncovered, the true relationships between God the Father, His only begotten Son and the Holy Spirit of God become apparent and established with confident certainty worthy of belief.Make no mistake. This is not so much about God’s character and His mighty, marvelous works. No. This is about making plain what has been the most misunderstood and obscured of all that God has plainly revealed of Himself in Scripture—His Identity!Who is in our thoughts when we hear, see, and touch (in the case of the Braille reader) the term God? Does our understanding of God’s Identity faithfully mirror Who the Holy Scripture has revealed Him to be? In fact, is it even that important? If our understanding of God does not correspond to what He has revealed of Himself in His Word—the Holy Bible, then this God in our mind is not the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob,⁶ nor the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!⁷ Neither can He be the God Who created all things by Jesus Christ!⁸ Beware lest the God we have in our mind is one of our imaginings, or a God imagined by another man, or group of men—and not the God of the Bible! Be aware that incorrectly identifying the only true God⁹ leads to the idolatry¹⁰ that the God of the Bible hates, for YHWH (this is His unspeakable personal Name) is a jealous God.¹¹ Know that He is even jealous for His Name¹² because it was and still is blasphemed¹³ and polluted¹⁴ to this very day.

Consider the Apostle Paul before the august body of Greek philosophers at the Areopagus¹⁵ in Athens, saying:

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man Whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised him from the dead.¹⁶

The Godhead means, That which is Divine.¹⁷ Also, notice the Apostle Paul’s phrase, man’s device. It means, What man can imagine and think of.¹⁸ Out of ignorance, one may be committing idolatry, which God hates;¹⁹ transgressing His command not to have other gods before Him²⁰ even in our imagination!²¹ Associated with idolatry, which includes to make, to worship, and to serve a graven image,²² is also invariably to take His Name in vain;²³ for instance, to call a no god²⁴ using His Name or Title, God! The Apostle Paul declares God winks at these,²⁵ not counting it against one’s soul when His Word revealing Who He truly is, in reality, is beyond one’s reach. However, the time has come, when we all have ready access to the Word of God and it is within reach through a variety of printed or digital platforms besides hearing and watching spiritual programs that can acquaint one with the God of the Bible via traditional radio, television network and cable outlets. Today, with a cellular telephone in hand, the Bible is available to download, read, and study. No longer is there an excuse for the ignorance of Who God is. Understand and know the only true God for yourself. Mentally discard a wrong picture of God and of His only begotten Son Whom He sent. Believe in the true God and receive eternal life that He freely gives through His Son.²⁶Understanding and having the true knowledge of God is the most important of all of Life’s considerations. It matters, for God Himself said:

Thus, saith YHWH, let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am YHWH which exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith YHWH.²⁷

Eternal life that God the Father YHWH freely gives only requires: (1) knowing the only true God—the Father and (2) knowing the only begotten Son of God Jesus Christ sent by the only true God—the Father. This true knowledge of the only true God and of His Son, all must strive to gain. It is the way to eternal life. Christ affirmed this when He prayed to His Father saying:

This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ Whom Thou hast sent.²⁸

Please note that the word true in true God used by Christ in His prayer recorded by the Apostle John, means the same way the Apostle Paul used true to qualify the sanctuary in heaven.²⁹ The sanctuary on earth made with hands...are figures of the true and not described as false; so is the Son of God not to be thought of as false, but the express image or duplicate copy of the original—the only true God’s Person.³⁰

In the following pages, we shall show Who the God of the Bible is, Who His Son is, and Who the Holy Spirit is. In this process, we shall demystify the Trinity or Triune God, also alternatively called by many, the Godhead. Then, it is explained why correctly identifying the only true God is important to worship, service, and a beautiful love relationship with Him that He passionately seeks with all His creatures.

    Who is God?

There are as many versions of God as there are religions. However, irrespective of this multiplicity, there are those who believe and nonchalantly claim, Your God is the same as my God! Surely, all religions referring to their respective deities as God, do not have that same one God, for the obvious fact remains: there are different religious beliefs and practices that contradict each other, validly arguing against the idea of the same one God worshipped by all. Beware that the popular analogies, All rivers eventually lead to the ocean, or All trails lead to the top of the mountain, do not apply to knowing and worshiping the only true God! Many similarities in these various Gods of the various religions do exist, but due diligence requires marked differences must not be ignored, investigated, and duly noted.

How then can one find out and be sure which version of God is the true God? I strongly suggest that we first get to know the God of the Bible, for it is He Who claims He alone is God and there is none else!³¹

As a preliminary, let us briefly review for our better common understanding the following observed Hebrew translation conventions pertaining to the rendering of God in the Authorized Version (AV) or King James Version (KJV) of the Bible:

The Tetragrammaton—a written vowel-less, four-letter (YHWH in Latin alphabet characters)personal Name of Israel’s God transliterated as Yahweh or Yehovah (or Jehovah —the consonant J in Jehovah is a modern rendering innovation.). Please take note, this personal four-letter Name of the God of Israel is rendered in AV or KJV English as LORD (Strong’s Hebrew 3068) 6,519 times or GOD (Strong’s Hebrew 3069) with all letters capitalized 4 times.

In all verses cited where LORD or GOD is used in the Authorized Version (AV), the liberty of reverting LORD or GOD to the personal Name of Israel’s God YHWH is taken in this book. The reason for using the personal Name of God YHWH instead of LORD is to evoke the close personal familiarity intimately attached to the Name, thereby removing the distant, cold impersonality of a designated equivalent in the all-caps titles LORD or GOD in the passages cited.

The Hebrew title Elohim (Strong’s Hebrew 430) is rendered into English as God to mean the title name designation for YHWH. Thus, in the first verse shown below, YHWH He is Elohim is literally translated in Authorized Version English as the LORD He is God. The Authorized Version (King James Version) renders the term God 4,458 times in 3,878 verses. The apparent discrepancy in numbers simply indicate that in a number of verses, the term God is mentioned more than once. The Old Testament mentions it 3,092 times in 2,688 verses; the New Testament: 1,366 times in 1,190 verses.

The Hebrew title Adonai (Strong’s Hebrew 136) means Lord or Master refers to YHWH 432 times. The Hebrew compound designation Adonai YHWH, instead of the awkward Lord LORD, was rather rendered Lord GOD³² instead. Thus, God is the title Elohim, while GOD (all caps) stands for the unspeakable, unspoken personal Name YHWH.

Of these verses, here are those that show the God of the Bible—the Father—is only one, and His Name is YHWH:³³

James 2: 19 – There is one God....

This collection of passages in the Word of God that underscore God is one and that there is no other, is a very significant written legacy of the chosen people of God to humanity. God³⁴ chose Abraham and his descendants to proclaim and to testify to this—Who He is! In knowing and recognizing the God of Abraham as the only true and living God, all the families of the earth are blest.³⁵

It was Israel’s pride and joy to regard Abraham as their father,³⁶ yet despite the written prophecies of Israel’s own prophets describing the Son of God, supplemented by the mighty miracles God performed through His Son, they denied and rejected His candid admission He was indeed the Son of God. They judged His truthful claim the very reason for demanding that the Romans put Him to death.³⁷ They were expecting a King,³⁸ and forgot that He must first come as a servant, and die, not for Himself,³⁹ but for the transgression of my people⁴⁰ and for the iniquity of us all.⁴¹ They claimed to know the God of Abraham and even took pride in themselves as his children.⁴² However, from the very start of Christ’s ministry, the vast majority of these descendants of Abraham, influenced by their leaders, as a nation, chose to resist, refused to believe, and finally rejected the Anointed Son of God because they had failed to recognize Him from all they heard of their prophets Sabbath after Sabbath in their places of worship—the synagogues.⁴³ Because Jesus did not fit their preconceived expectations of the Messiah to come,⁴⁴ they rejected Him—the Son of God.⁴⁵ By doing so, they demonstrated unbelief in what God said to them regarding His Son through His prophets; made Him a liar; and by doing so, rejected the Father of the Son of God—their own God,⁴⁶ Who sent His only begotten Son!⁴⁷

Islam, too, rightfully traces its spiritual roots as descendants of Abraham through Ishmael. Some in Islam claim the God of Abraham is Allah. However, the Holy Quran of Islam denies Allah has a begotten Son for He does not beget, and that He is above having a Son for it is not consonant, or not in harmony with His majesty.⁴⁸ So, how can Allah be the same God of Abraham, whose descendants through Isaac: King David,⁴⁹ King Solomon,⁵⁰ the Prophet Isaiah,⁵¹ John the Baptist,⁵² the Apostle Peter,⁵³ and even Jesus Himself,⁵⁴ all declared God indeed has a Son? How can Allah be the same one God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel—YHWH, Who Himself declared He has a Son?⁵⁵ From these considerations mentioned, certainly, Allah cannot be the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

Some Hindus also claim their deity, Supreme⁵⁶ Lord Krsna (or Krishna), also known as Rama⁵⁷ and also as Brahma,⁵⁸ is the same one God of the Bible. Lord Krsna primarily teaches that the soul does not die and is indestructible.⁵⁹ In contrast, YHWH—the God of the Bible, declared the soul that sins shall die.⁶⁰ In fact, the Son of God—Jesus Christ, said: rather fear Him that can destroy both body and soul.⁶¹ Therefore, the Supreme Lord Krsna of the Hindu faith’s Holy Book the Bhagavad Gita, cannot be the same God of the Christian Bible Who can destroy the soul!

Today’s Christians claim their spiritual roots trace back to the Apostolic Christian Church of the first century. The Christian of today believes and claims his God is the God of the Bible. However, almost all Christians believe the way Hindus do: the soul is immortal and does not die. It is in fact, the basis for their doctrines of Hell, Purgatory, and Saints to pray to for help! It is also the basis for the belief that when you die, you immediately go to heaven! A lot of Christians also believe and find comfort in the thought that when their loved ones die, their loved ones go to heaven immediately! Are these doctrines what their God teach? If so, then these Christians of today have for their God a God who is not the God of the Bible!

There is also a large segment of the Christian faith denying the Son of God is the only begotten Son of the Father just like the faithful Moslem does! They even go as far to claim their God only has a metaphorical Sona make-believe Sona role-playing Son! They do this to show the world they believe in the Bible and are Christians, and yet they redefine the word begotten to mean sole or unique in order to fit their doctrine contrary to God the Father having a literally only begotten Son even before the Son’s Incarnation!⁶² Is their God the same as the God of the Bible? No! In fact, it appears some of these Christians confess they believe God has a pre-incarnate Son according to His prophets: King David,⁶³ King Solomon⁶⁴ and the Prophet Isaiah⁶⁵ just as the Jews in Christ’s day read the Hebrew Scriptures did! However, in a similar way to those who disbelieved the testimony of the Son of God when He came as the Son of man and had Him crucified,⁶⁶ these so-called Christians do not believe their Christ to be the literal Son of God but a God like God—the Father, only role-playing as the Son of God, perhaps not realizing they crucify the only literally begotten Son of God afresh⁶⁷ by their unbelief.

It is often argued that the Triune God—the Trinity of Christianity, is the one God of the Bible. Trinitarians (those who subscribe to the Trinity doctrine) apply the collection of Bible verses initially cited above to the Triune God—the One God in three Persons. However, John 17: 3, 1 Corinthians 8: 6, Ephesians 4: 6, 1Thessalonians 1: 9,10 and even 1 Timothy 6: 16 contextually cannot support the Trinity doctrine. Together, these cited verses, are the Achilles heel of the Triune God belief; for a doctrine put together that contradicts even a single Scripture—cannot stand, or ring true—based on the principle established by God the Father through
