"I want to express my appreciation to a few people who have helped me so much. My love and gratitude go to my dear wife Stephanie for her support and help editing, proofreading, and providing quality assurance with each devotion I have written.

Also, my heartfelt appreciation goes to our mentors and dear friends, prison evangelists Rappin’ Ron Brigmon, and his beautiful wife, Miss Katie! They have mentored me/us in prison ministry and have provided the example and inspiration for writing these devotionals. Thank you for believing in me and encouraging me in this effort. I will forever owe you a debt of gratitude! Stephanie and I love and appreciate you so much.

As a graduate of Charis Bible College, I must acknowledge and express thankfulness to my favorite Bible teacher, Andrew Wommack. I have gleaned and assimilated his deep and meaningful teachings, which are evident in my preaching, teaching, and writing. I am profoundly grateful.

There have been many men of God who have spoken into my life and helped shape me spiritually. For that, I am thankful as well.

Last, but not least, I am so very thankful for the leading and inspiration of the Holy Spirit and His help to accomplish this work. Amen!

    Foreword

Dr. Mike McComb’s 100-day devotional, Born Again to Win, is a must for new believers and a tool for mature believers to grow and disciple others. One of the most important teachings for new believers is to know who God is and to know who they are as His child. The fundamentals of faith and grace are easily explained and resonate throughout this devotional. The overcomer mentality is prevalent throughout, as described by its title.

As we began to read Dr. McComb’s devotionals, we were super impressed with the quality, substance, and excellence demonstrated in his literary gift. As a Chaplain, he has shared these truths with inmates for years. We are so delighted that he is offering them now to the whole body of Christ.

We highly recommend Born Again to Win to anyone wanting to grow spiritually in their walk with Christ.

    Introduction

I have had a long-held desire to write a book on the nuggets of truth from God’s Word that I hold so dear. The book you hold in your hand is the fulfillment of that desire. I began to write devotions during the COVID-19 pandemic, which shut down ministry in the prisons. My aim was to use these devotionals to keep ministry flowing to the church that I pastored behind the prison walls. I began to feel compelled to continue as I believed God was inspiring me to accomplish this work.

Each devotion is designed to be a teaching from the Word. I believe the devotions contained in this work have the potential to really bless your life. The reason I strongly believe this is when I was a new Christian, I was struggling financially. I was so poor I could not spare the extra money to buy books from the bookstore at our church. A full-size book sold for $5.00 in those days, but I just did not feel I could spare that much to buy a book when I needed the money to buy milk for my children! However, I felt I could spend the fifty cents for the mini-books they offered authored by ministers I held in high esteem. I read those mini-books over and over until I understood them well. I now consider them to have been instrumental in establishing a solid faith foundation in my life!

I have experienced firsthand how the short but powerful teachings can influence and establish a person’s understanding of spiritual truths. Discipleship has been my passion for many years. It is something which is often neglected in people’s lives these days. Jesus said in John 8:31–32, …If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. This is why I am excited for the opportunity to share some of these truths with you. I hope to be able to help you abide in His Word with this study tool. More than thirty years have passed, and I still have a stack of those original mini-books on my book shelf. I still value the experience I received from God through the study of His Word from those early days of my walk with Him.

I pray you will have a similar experience over the next one hundred days as you study these truths with me. May our good God bless you richly with revelation from His Word!

    Born Again to Win,

    Chaplain McComb

    Part One:

    THE FAITH LIFE

    Introduction

The devotions in this section are on the topic of living by faith. Faith is a subject that is misunderstood and misapplied in our modern culture. Most people associate it as a belief system. For example, you hear people say, What faith are you? Meaning, What religion are you? or What religious persuasion are you? That isn’t even close to the proper application of faith revealed in the Bible. Nor is faith something we use to try to get God to move or do something for us. Rather, faith is a positive response on your behalf to what God has already done. Faith is how you access God’s grace to receive from Him.

I believe the devotions in this part of my devotional will help give you a better understanding of what faith is and some of the many areas of our Christianity that are involved. As you read, you will find each day’s devotion deals with a different aspect of faith. I have included multiple scripture references within each devotion for you to use. If you will take a few minutes each day to read the devotion and then spend some time to meditate on each truth, pray, and look up the verses in your Bible, it will serve as a study guide to help you build your understanding of faith. I believe it will help build in you a revelation of this very important Bible subject we all need to major in. May our good God bless you and give you illumination as you read!

    Day 1

Children of God through Faith in Jesus

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

    (Galatians 3:26–27)

While it is a fact all of humanity is a product of God’s creation (Genesis 1:26–27), the Bible makes it clear in today’s verse that mankind becomes sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Faith
