Foreword
Since the late 1700s, women have fought for equality and struggled in obtaining everyday things given to men, including equity and equality; the right to vote, the right to own property, fair wages, and equal employment in the workforce.
Over the years, we have watched the sand in the hourglass shift from one era to the next era -- each shift representing a small measure of time and the right of passage for the next generation. Every transition, era-to-era (from one side of the sandglass to the next), brings new changes and challenges.
More than three centuries later, in women’s passages from Liberation to -- the Me-Too Movement, women have made significant strides to impact society, at home, in the workplace, and living in communities around the globe. During the transition between time, era, and change, the battle for women’s rights and gender equality has skewed left to right like a brass pendulum swinging from west to east. Yet, even today, the struggle, the fight, and the right to be heard continue.
There is success beyond the struggle. The time is now; starting today, during this most precious moment, we must stop, listen to the silent voices, share their stories, and celebrate their accomplishments.
From humble beginnings to becoming Mompreneurs, Socialpreneurs, Entrepreneurs, Business Owners, and running large corporations, women have made great sacrifices in the open market from storm to storm. Women have always added significant value to the world through parenting, partnership, passion, progression, and generating a profit in the marketplace.
Indeed, women are similar to the radiant colors in the rainbow. Without their many colorful contributions, the sky would seem like an empty blue space on a dull, rainy day.
Through my many personal experiences, I have discovered several things. There is power in being your ‘own‘ boss; there is strength in Sisterhood, and there is healing in writing and sharing your story. Writing your thoughts and ideas in a daily journal helps resolve trauma and decrease stressful moments. Sharing lessons learned and passing stories to the next generation is the key to influencing the future and shaping the next generation.
Inside this book, Ten amazing women join together to share their real-life experiences and journeys to entrepreneurship. There is no question the ability to launch and grow a successful business presents many challenges. The first challenge is overcoming personal barriers and figuring out what steps you should take. Another challenge is finding the resources to sustain ideas and learning how to manage a company, manage a family and keep things together at the same time.
How can any woman living in today’s crazy society live their best dream, overcome adversity and find their true purpose in a busy world? The good news is you don’t have to figure out the steps by yourself; you can tap into the wisdom, knowledge, and resources of others who have blazed the trail and already run the race of starting a business successfully.
Life is a journey. The stories in this Think Pink Collection urge every woman to discover their self-worth and live out their dreams with purpose.
I welcome the opportunity to write the foreword for Think Pink: Success Stories from Women Who Launched Businesses and Changed Lives. Inside the front and back covers are personal letters written to all the women out there who need a hand-up, need motivation, and inspiration to rise, start, build and grow their businesses. The pages, you will find a collection of real-life short stories to encourage women around the globe to stand tall when facing adversity. Stand tall while pursuing your dreams and stand tall in a busy marketplace. PinkBizNetwork.com

I am in a new space
Flying high in a new zone
Striving to do all the things
I have never tried before
Attitude is my drive
Altitude is my goal
Soaring among the stars
Come watch me roar
When I am creating on purpose
Latitude is my fortress
My world has a new voice
My eyes see a brighter light
My future looks better each day
Shinning like the moon in the night
Spreading my wings to take flight
Oh! Sing hummingbird, sing
I am dancing to a new song
And, when the music stops playing
Watch my wings keep going
Stretching my soul in a new place
Soaring high in a new zone
Finally, I feel sooo... free
Flying on my own

Chapter 1
Don’t Let Your Setbacks Cause You to Sit Back
Remember that setbacks are only challenges in disguise. Look at them as lessons; don’t waste time beating yourself up. Just get back on track and focus on what you want. It’s up to you, and you will do it!
- Jorge Cruise
There is no denying that some of the most wonderful and trendsetting entrepreneurs are women. Throughout history, women have defied the odds and stigmas in the marketplace, leaving a positive impact on a global scale while inspiring young girls to do the same. However, as a seasoned woman entrepreneur, I can sympathize with how scary and uncertain it is to start a business or change your career path. I have been there and know how some situations and negative thinking can entice you to pull back and stay in your comfort zone. I decided to share some key tips and fundamental advice that I have collected through life to help you succeed as a female entrepreneur and thrive.
If you do not know my story, then understand that I suffered a tragic miscarriage before becoming an entrepreneur. This experience broke me in more ways than I can count and left me feeling defeated. But even with this setback, I refused to use it as an excuse to sit back. The pain I felt then, and still feel today, ignited my passion for writing. Fast forward, today I am now a published author who has written three books, and I am currently on the third anthology. I also own a fashion brand, and I started my body butter line, which all stemmed from facing my darkest days. Overall, please do not allow your setbacks to dictate your future but use them as a key to unlock new opportunities. You may encounter a gift you never knew you had.
Understand Pain Can Foster Purpose
As hard as it may be to discover purpose from pain, it does exist. For me, my pain helped me find my true calling as an author and entrepreneur. Pain lit the path that I chose to follow, and it changed my life for the better. During my journey as a fashion entrepreneur, I remember distinctively being at my friend’s guest room in Bonaire, GA, trying to plan the beginning stages of my store while enduring a miscarriage. It was such a devastating and dark time in my life. With everything hitting me all at once, there was an enlightening moment in disguise that turned my life around for a much brighter future. It was a simple yet powerful question that I asked my friend Ceandra while tears ran down my face: Can a girl catch a break? That was the moment my store and published book established their name. It was the turning point of taking back my life, and the rest is history.
After seeking therapy for my miscarriage, I had the opportunity to be a co-author of the best-selling book, The Voices Behind Mental Illness, The Life of a Veteran¹; I utilized that book for the Map Mental Wellness Success. Following that, I wrote my other book, The Love She Never Had². The name was sought through failed relationships. When I thought somebody loved me, they were only there to use me. I attracted rogues in my life, which was the ultimate disappointment. It derived from fake friendships. When I thought I had true and genuine friendships, they were only there to gossip, throw shade, and some were even there to manipulate me. It was established from the trustworthiness I gave to people at work who truly did not deserve it; they ostracized me. Finally, the love I never received from my father, instead of uplifting his only daughter, all he did was criticize and expect me to be a failure.
In summary, pain is a part of life, and everyone has the challenges they face. But being able to shift perspectives, learn from what you are feeling
