    Golden Nuggets - Will Shepard

    I. Introduction

For starters, I would like to say thanks I admire you for taking the first steps to bettering your knowledge of credit and allowing me to be the one to bless you with these Golden Nuggets! Regarding credit scores, I am right here to tell you of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Did you know that our country itself is in debt? Not only is our government in debt but WE the people are in tremendous debt. Recent studies display that 90% of Americans have at least one credit card and that they are using on a day-to-day to cover what we don't have.

Studies show that the average family carries a balance of $6,000 to $10,000 on all their credit cards combined. Generally, Americans spend over 1 trillion dollars each year on their credit cards and owe more than 400 billion bucks of it. Most Americans are spending their hard-earned money paying back debt. Wow!?!? I know the same thing I was thinking. Can you imagine paying back a debt for the rest of your life?

NO! So with these Golden Nuggets I will show you here, how to level up a notch with your credit. Let's get right in to it!!

II. Back to the Basics: What is Credit?

Right here, you will get to know about credit, its meaning, and its importance. Credit gives you the ability to take goods and services but pay for them later on. So, for what purpose do we use credit? As American consumers use credit to buy just about entirely anything from food, garments, housing, and transportation; you name it, we spend on it. Unlikely, on an everyday basis, many people fight to control their credit and get beaten through big amounts of bills. Today, it is extremely important for us to focus on understanding what credit is, the way it works, and how it may impact your day-to-day life. Hear this, having bad credit can determine where you live, wherein your children attend school, what kind of interest rates you pay on your car, or your mortgage if you are approved! Also, did you know that nowadays employers pull your credit at instances to determine if they’d like to hire you as an employee? Some jobs may look at you like a risk with terrible credit. Let me give you an example of the benefit of having better credit, let's say you are taking a loan mortgage out for $100,000 at 3.9 percent interest for 30 years that equals about $473 a month which is a total cost of $170,000. Now let's say if your credit changes into a rating of lower credit and they presented you an interest rate of 1% higher, you will be looking at $532 a month and now your total cost would be $192,000. What???? That is a $20,000 plus increase all from 1%. Is bad credit worth it? At the end of the day with bad credit, it can cause you to spend heaps and thousands of extra money that we do not have. I want to help you save that money, so let us just move on to the next chapter grab your popcorn, get something to drink, and let us move forward.

III. Big 3: Transunion, Equifax, Experian

The Big 3, no I’m not regarding LBJ, D. Wade, or Bosh. The Big 3 here in the US are TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. The big three encompass a credit score range from 300 to 850 points, the higher your score the better. These three credit bureaus capture updates and keep all the credit records within the US on its consumers. The majority of the information that is collected by the three credit bureaus on the consumer are similar, but there are plenty of differences. Let’s take an example that one person may have a distinctive way of collecting the records on a user that may not have been
