This is my second book. I’ve sold over 300 copies in my home town. I never believed I could do this. I always wanted to but never put forth effort. Well I took a leap of faith, and I accomplished what I sat out to do.

        Prologue

Officer Reason, phone call on line one. A voice came over his radio. He picked up the phone call in a hurry. Anytime the phone was for him he instantly reacted as though someone found Secret. Hello, officer Reason speaking. He listened intently to the words on the other end of the phone. Reason jotted down some information and flew on his way out of the building.

On the way out the door he stopped and hurriedly talked to the receptionist. I gotta hurry and handle something Susan, take all calls for me I’ll be back. If it’s important please call me. He yelled on his way out of the building. Reasons heart was beating out of his chest, every time he took a deep breath it burned.

He ran to the car and sped out of the parking lot on two wheels directly into traffic and head on collision by an inch. He drove over the speed limit to meet his partner he dipped in and out of traffic, not really caring who he could hurt he had one thing on his mind. Reason  pulled down the sun visor and the sight of him caught his eye. He looked a mess he hadn’t slept in days. The accident his wife was in had him on the edge of being crazy.

He lost his wife to a fire with her and her sisters’ family in it. There were only four bodies found and neither of them were her. He felt something fishy was up, and had everyone he knew checking into it. He was losing his mind taking care of the kids and working. Reason tried to explain to the children that their mother was gone, but every time he explained it he would stop because it didn’t add up. He needed his wife back and he knew she was out there somewhere.

The life they were living was far from perfect but it was theirs. The love had faded over the years, one time he could’ve sworn she was cheating. He put that to the back of his mind, didn’t want to start any trouble. He had so many thoughts running through his head he didn’t know what to believe but he knew that she wasn’t dead. Reason felt a nagging pain in his heart telling him that his soulmate was alive. He knew what kind of life she was into before he married her. He wasn’t new to the game, and he knew how it could go.

He pulled up to meet his partner at the scene of the crime. He sent a silent prayer up before stepping out the car to meet his partner. What’s up Stack? What you know good? He questioned his best friend. You’re not gonna like it… Stacks said handing Reason an envelope. Before he even opened it his heart filled up with anxiety. He was preparing for the worst, hoping for the best. He needed Secret more than she knew. She was the glue to his family. His girls needed their mother, he needed his wife. At this moment he didn’t care where she was and what she was doing as long as she came back home.

Stacks pulled out pictures of two men he had never seen in his life. What caught his eye was the woman they were carrying was wearing a custom-made wedding ring. He couldn’t see her face but he knew he gave her that ring on their three year wedding anniversary.

He looked at Stacks as tears filled his eyes. His face pleaded for help. Bruh I don’t know what’s going on but we will find her. Ima run these faces through our systems. They are bound to be in there somewhere. Stacks felt his partner’s pain.

In their younger days of being in the streets they found young love. Secret was their boss daughter. Reason feel in love with her at first sight. Stacks told him it was the wrong move but he couldn’t shake her. Secret used her position to her advantage. She had reason sprung and he loved it.

Anything she wanted he gave her, he even gave her an open relationship. That’s how much he had to have her. He had never cheated on her, nor did he think about it. He gave her the world and still it wasn’t enough. He knew about D’Kane, but the way her father praised him he knew he didn’t stand a chance. He was the best of both worlds.

I’ll work overtime just to find something from these pictures. I have put a missing person report out on all of the missing individuals that were at the scene. I told you not to get yourself mixed up in this mess. You turned your life around and she will always be in the streets. She is the daughter of the fucking kingpin Reason. You are a damn federal agent. This shit don’t fucking mix bruh. Pick a fucking side. Something went down here and I’m going to find out what that was. Not for your sake but for mine. Stacks spoke with anger in his voice.

He hated the mess his partner was in. Stacks watched Reason work hard for everything he has and hoped he didn’t have to watch him lose it.

I’m going to find Secret no matter what I gotta do to find her. He said walking back to his car. He slammed his door calling Secrets father. He knew he would have to go back to his old self to find her, but he didn’t care. She was coming home she had a family to care for and he wasn’t giving up on his marriage without knowing the reason.

He rode in silence contemplating on what to say to the girls when they ask where their mom is. He was getting tired of the game that was being played. She couldn’t just walk off without reaching out. Was she taken without consent, is she happy where she is? Do she miss us? All of these questions ran through his mind every day all day. He was lost and felt like he was going crazy. He couldn’t face the girls tonight, he had had many nights of not coming home until the girls were in bed. So, he wouldn’t have to answer any questions about Secret. He would be gone to work before they got up for school the next morning. Secrets god mother helped a lot with the girls. She was always there when needed.

He shot her a text to let her know he wasn’t going to be home any time soon. He was going to get answers and wasn’t going to stop until he found Secret. He drove right up to her dad’s house. Being that he was a cop he wasn’t quite welcome anymore in his home or around him period he was very nervous. This was an exception either he died tonight, or hell come out a survivor. He was tired of not knowing the hidden parts of his wife. Her dada was sure to know more than he ever would.

                                  Chapter one

Deceit sat with Noro at the stone table staring at the ocean. His mind was everywhere. He had taken everything in that Noro had to teach him. Deceit was never the one to procrastinate about anything. He was smart in a lot of aspects. He took his role profoundly serious. In the back of his mind he was ecstatic about the come up he had walked into. That didn’t change the fact of him losing his mom in cold blood, and his heart beat still missing.

How could his mom just send her away to a hoe farm? He let his thoughts run wild in the back of his mind while he ran everything Noro had told him over and over again. Deceit watched the old chubby man as he told him the ropes. Noro couldn’t be trusted in his eyes. Deceit didn’t know him enough to let his guard down around him. Noro had to prove his loyalty just like anybody else.

ok ok that’s enough talking business. How can I get my woman back? She is pregnant and I need to make sure she is well taken care of. I don’t even know what the fuck is going on here. Deceit sat shaking his head back and forth.

"Son I know you are worried about her but you have to understand what just happened and where she is. No one is going to follow you to be honest. The orders you are about to shoot out will not be followed until we have a ceremony crowning you as the king of the empire. We still don’t know if Envy or D’Kane will want to lead the empire. There will be tension and jealousy but if you stay focused and prove to the board that you can sustain the flow that we already have then you can win them over. Your biggest obstacle will be the color of your skin. You’re a black man in a Latin island.
