About this ebook

                                                        Grief

Grief is something that is hard to let go of.  We can't help but miss our loved ones. Even though the earthly connection is broken, there still is the spiritual one. We can still talk, speak, and even hear our dearly departed.

They come to us in many forms: animals, birds, and insects. They can leave signs letting us know they are there. This is called reincarnation. It is an ancient belief that souls can come to you in times of need or stress. They are transformed into physical things that you can see, hear, and touch.

My mother, for example, came back to me as a red cardinal, in my darkest times. She is the guiding force behind this book, "Flying Free". I wrote it about her and I and our bond through heaven and earth.

I was finally able to let her go and be free. She can fly to places she has never seen and to help others in need. I am finally okay and able to fly on my own. It helped us both because we are now truly free.

I am no longer her burden nor is she mine, I felt I kept her from all she could be, in this life and after. We are both at peace, letting each other go, was the way it was meant to be.  Now, I can move on as can she. There was no sadness and tears, just smiles and joy!

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to my mom,

An angel in life and now in heaven.

She turned into a cardinal, the most beautiful of birds.

She came to me in my darkest times to watch over me.

    I am okay now.

    Go fly free now Mom.

I love you and miss you.

    Forever, Your Loving Daughter,

    Rita

    Chapter One

The red cardinal, although the male is the darkest red and the prettier of the two, is represented boldly in so many things. In reincarnation, you can be male or female. The gender of said creature doesn’t have a significance. It is the spiritual meaning that takes precedence.

Do you know there is even a rare white cardinal? It has a condition called leucism. It is a lack of pigment in the feathers. They are just as beautiful as the red cardinal, if not prettier and simply unique. They account for one in every 1,800 cardinals.

Too bad my mom didn’t know of their existence years ago, or she would have wanted to be one. The rareness and uniqueness of this would have drawn
