N ever really knew his occupation, but I know he had a large inheritance. He was a man with no kids and a smile that would melt your heart. Medium build, with hands as soft as cotton, and blessed with a platinum tail that hung from the front of him. I could only tell what was told and could only express how the tail expanded my soul. Yeah, Nash, she was a paralegal that was an undergraduate to become a predominant lawyer. Because she always manipulated shit, and if you looked at her without conversation, you’d fall in love with just her walk. She would make a broke mother lover rich and a rich mother lover pay for it. She was gifted and lived by the laws of attraction. She ran her life off of energy, don’t let you be weak, and she felt it that was just the spark that lit the fire inside of her. Her most dangerous weapon was the cat that she ran at night. It slept during the day and hissed at night. River was a person that had nothing but was somebody that everyone wanted, at least if it was only for the one time. She didn’t care what a soul thought, felt, said, or did as long as they didn’t fuck with her. She was a What you see is what you get type. You’d fall in love with her just because she was so real. She had good love, but for some reason, it only ran the streets a couple times a year. I assume it was only to see if she still had it. She as well had no children. River always found a way to stay grounded. She always spoke in codes. I remember River saying it’s nothing worse than love not being real, omitting guilt is a plea to sorrow that births the future to awareness. Repeating shares space with a replacement. No one could ever figure out the code words; just know they meant something.

    AMAZING

I t’s amazing what taking trips and spending time will do. I was in love, but the million-dollar baby was, how did she feel about us. She never ever disclosed her feelings for me. See, Nash was the type that moved through people, never letting the next person know her next move. It surprised me because she didn’t know how to play the game of chess. She moved all across the board. This became a mystery. Mysterious George, I would call her. Look at me—I was the stud that acted as the fem when it came to feelings. I stayed in those. In a hand of cards, she was the joker, and I played the role of the queen. No one knew her weakness but me, and God not even her soul tie J. Never did I ever choose to play on them because I loved her so much, even when I found out that it was me, J., and someone else.

See, we all make mistakes. She was getting away with murder. But again, overlooking small details cost money in the end. I even knew the order we stood in, and I took my place until the revolving doors became lies. Someone once said, Stand for nothing and fall for anything. So I had to make a decision: Either she go or I go never expressing of J. because J. took care of shit. I mean made shit happen. So I gave credit where credit was due. But the other shit I wasn’t having.

The day she reached out to me. After trying something new and knowing what and how to be treated. Going back to what was on the table, I couldn’t accept anything less than my worth. Some would say your worth is a side piece. Yes, but let me tell you, at first you would never know that I was a side piece because this chick sucked, fucked, ate, slept, and spent days at my house. I knew than she had left J., she was all mine. Not coming to the conclusion that her and J. shared a soul tie of a bond that was complicated. I was the side piece that was winning. I never asked for too much, but when I did, she would go and get it. I could always tell when Nash was fucking over J. and me. The chick patterns would change; her shit would be out of sequence.

However, what she didn’t know was I was that bitch that was reckless and brought endangerment. Do shit that her soul tie wouldn’t do. Chick, I’m coming to your house because you have me caught up and fucked up. I was in love. I know you’re never supposed to
