About this ebook

I have said somewhere else in this Prayer Book that the understanding of the Bible is a gift from the Holy Spirit. The proof? Read this: At that time, Jesus said to His Disciples: I go to Him Who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, where are You going? But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. But I tell you the truth: it is expedient that I go, for if I go not, the Helper – the Paraclete will not come to you, but if I go, I will send Him to you. And when He is come, the Spirit of Truth, He will teach you all things and reveal all truth, for He will not speak of Himself, but what things soever He shall hear, He shall speak, the things that are to come, He shall show you. He shall glorify Me because He shall receive of Mine and shall show it to you (John16:5-7,13-14).
Absolutely, the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of Truth – the sweet Holy Paraclete teaches, reveals, and gives knowledge and understanding. Understanding therefore the words of the Bible – the Truth about God comes directly with the help of the Holy Spirit. So much so is the ability and the skill to use the words of the Bible to become personal or individual prayers. We all need to be aware that every sentence or statement in the Bible can implicate to imply personal or individual intention. Again, this ability and this skill are given by the Holy Spirit – unquestionable Truth!
The inspired idea of this Prayer Book is to let Christians and all interested persons to know that you have been given and you have the power to ask the Holy Spirit to increase the ability in you, and to direct the skill you already have, to use the words, the sentences, and the statements in the Bible to suit personal or individual intention.
I believe the supernatural force, which I can call the inspiration, behind my composition of Personalised Short Prayers from the Bible (PSPB), was the same force or inspiration that caused me to give my whole life to God through Jesus. The life full of prayers has been mine, causing, also the honours in my education from colleges to universities, to be possible.
Initially, an Air Transportation Engineer, but I am completely accepted, and I am perfected of the Blessed, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Whether a new Christian or from birth been a Christian, I implore you to go deep into the concept of Personalised Prayers from the Bible, so that you will run and not be weary and walk and not faint (Is40:31).

    The Lord’s Prayer Personalised

    List of Names Abbreviations

    Foreword.

Here in this Prayer Book are graceful verbatim translations from the New King James version, and the Good News Bible. Here in this Prayer Book are beautiful and graceful prayers, specially selected to amaze and inspire every user. You are assured of abundant blessings, and you will find answers to your prayers. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift – the Lord Jesus!

Here in this Prayer Book, you will find a word or words closed in this symbol, []. These are members of tribulation or, they are expendable associates. They can be exchanged for the word or words to suit your immediate intention or need.

You will find that the term Amen in this Prayer Book has no full-stop or any other punctuation mark following. The reasons for this are many. But just a few of the reasons which the composer of this Prayer Book chooses to reveal, are that our God has no beginning and no end. He came out from the unknown everlasting to everlasting to create the universe and everything in the universe. In Saint Paul’s first Epistle to the Thessalonians (5:17), Saint Paul advised, saying: pray without ceasing. For me, it is obvious that as-long-as I live my life here on earth, God is continually talking to me, and l must be talking to God in prayers continually, without ceasing.

The Creator and Maker of lives in this universe, understandably, intended life to go on, without ceasing. But who is he, Satan the devil, is guilty of polluting most substances that God the Father of all creation created and gave for food, when God said to Adam and Eve: see, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be food – also to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life. I have given every green herb for food… (Gen1:29-30). As a result of pollution, and the deceit intentionally because Satan the devil who did not like the creation of man, caused death to be apparent through disobedience. But death or no death, God is continually fostering and talking to His beautiful creation, at the same time, directing our lives as-long-as we live on earth. Equally, brothers and sisters must not stop praying or put a stop at the end of their prayers, as you have been advised by Saint Paul to talk to God in prayers, without ceasing.

Here in this Prayer Book, you will, also, find a word or words closed in this symbol, {}. These are replaceable nouns, such as {name}, {servant}, {husband, wife}. Where you see {name, servant} you can put a name, and so on. Whoso is using this Prayer Book will be alright to shout his or her name in the bracketed word name, servant, or maid servant, and so on. But pay particular attention to the two ways in which the term saint is understood. You will remember that during Saint Paul’s ministry, and in all his letters (Epistles), he represented the term ‘saints’ differently. Where he said, ‘saints’ in-reference-to God the Father, literally, he meant the Angels of God – the Ministering Angels. But wherever he said, ‘saints’ in-reference-to God the Son, Jesus Christ, literally, Saint Paul meant the Believers or Christians of that time, and the interacting Believers or Christians of the present-day. What is your opinion? Are there differences between the ‘saints’ of that time and the present-day ‘saints?’

Suffice saying that many Christians today do not understand the Bible, even as much as they would want to understand it. This is because the understanding of the Bible is a gift from the Holy Spirit. I have not included such prayers to ask the Holy Spirit to increase and to direct your understanding of the Bible, or the words of prayers. (repeated at the back of this Prayer Book). I leave that for you to construct such prayers for yourself. Remain blessed as you use this Prayer Book. May the Lord Jesus Christ, the great Advocate with the Father, help you, always. It is important that you should endeavour to choose to pray with great faith those prayers in this Prayer Book which are of everyday significance to you, always starting with ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ personalised.

That is one of the immense benefits seen in this Prayer Book: Great and Marvellous is the Lord God Almighty of Infinite Wisdom!

Yes, covered in the Blood of Jesus, O! what a highly valued enjoyment. There will I hide until life’s threats and trails are over. Covered, protected, no man can harm me. I am relying on Jesus. I am safe ever more! Yes, I want to remain covered in His Blood to the day of His appearing. To the day when we crown Him the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. For only those who put their faith in Jesus, depending on Him, and trusting in the work on Calvary; those who believe in the resurrection from the dead, will behold that day – the day of final victory. The composer of this Prayer Book and all those who daily use it, want to remain covered in His Blood!

    What Personalised Prayers Do?

Virtues are formed by prayers. Prayers preserve temperance. Prayers suppress anger. Prayers prevent emotions of pride and envy. Prayers draw into the soul the Holy Spirit and raises man to heavenly virtues, St Ephrem (c306-373). Prayers help to overcome and conquer the seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices, or cardinal sins, is a grouping and classification of vices within Christian teachings, although it does not appear explicitly in the Bible. Behaviours or habits are classified under this category if they directly give birth to other immoralities. According to the standard list, the seven deadly sins are pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth, which are also contrary to the seven heavenly virtues. These sins are often thought to be abuses or excessive versions of one’s natural faculties or passions. Each of these can be overcome with the seven corresponding heavenly virtues of humility, charity, chastity, gratitude, temperance, patience, and diligence.

    The Lord’s Prayer Personalised

The hope of every Christian is to receive salvation, with most assuming that going to heaven is the final and greatest reward attainable for every person on earth. This is seen to be the pinnacle – the supreme achievement and ultimate fulfilment – of the human destiny. For most people, this is true. Or is there something greater ahead for every human being ever born? Prayer is talking to God, and God listening and considering your disposition. This is the reason why most people start their prayers with the Lord’s Prayer – our Father Who art in heaven …

The ‘quest for heaven’ idea is based on a long-held assumption – on what most have been told that the Bible says about life after death: heaven or hell, or purgatory (a state of temporary suffering for cleansing; how long is ‘temporary’?). Most people believe either must be, hell or heaven, or purgatory, because they also have heard that Jesus said that no one has ascended to heaven but He Who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man Who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted-up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted-up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life (John3:13-15). Have eternal life in heaven or on earth? We do not know, but most Christians believe that it must be the eternal life in heaven or the eternal life in the life that will be when Jesus Christ returns.

Prayer is talking to God directly, therefore, the Lord’s Prayer is one of the most important prayers from the Bible. The Lord Jesus said to His Disciples … when you pray … pray to your Father Who is in the secret place and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly … and when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathens do … in this manner, therefore, pray:

Dear Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your Name!

Your kingdom come [in my life]

Your will be done [in my life] on earth as it is in heaven.

Give me this day [each day] my daily bread.

And forgive me my sins as I forgive those who sinned against me.

And do not lead me into temptation but deliver me from all evil.

For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever (Matt6:9-13).

Deliver me, I beg You, from all evil, past, present and to come. Mercifully grant peace in my days: that through the bounteous help of Your mercy I may always be free from sin and secure from all disturbance. Through Jesus Christ, Amen

God revealed His grace for the salvation of humanhood. That grace instructs me to give up ungodly living, and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly life, that will give me the strength up to the blessed day of the glorious appearing of my great Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (Titus2:11-13). I believe, I believe, and I believe! My Christ is the end of the law and righteousness to everyone who believes! (Rom10:3).

Yes, I have confidence in Your strength, Lord You are my refuge, O God! (Ps59:9). Therefore, I try always rejoicing; I try praying without ceasing. In everything giving thanks. For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus. I do not try to quench the Spirit. I do not try to despise prophecies. I try testing all things beforehand, holding fast to what is good, abstaining from every form of evil, that the God of peace Himself may sanctify me completely, that my whole spirit: heart, mind and soul be preserved and be blameless at the appearing of my Lord Jesus (1Thess5:16-23)! Amen

For You are the high Priest and Advocate – the Son of the living God – the Faithful and True Witness – the Splendour of the Father – the House of gold – the Beginning of the creation of God – the Father of the world to come – the Word made fresh, living and powerful – the King of glory – the Infinite Goodness – the Word, the Light – the Brightness of eternal Light – the True Light – the Resurrection and the Life – the Way the Truth and the Life – the Lover of chastity – the Prince of Everlasting Glory – the God of peace –
