Transcript:
It is January 8 and we are reading job chapters 17 through 20 Have you ever been tempted to throw out an answer in the wind?

0:20
Somebody was going through a difficult time. and just you just kind of offhanded was like oh rejoice in our sufferings, huh?

Carrion or Does that ever happen to you when you're going through a really difficult time?

0:42
And you just want somebody to listen and they start giving you advice on what to do or giving you the answer to your problem and how to solve that?

1:03
And then there's a choice that we each have, right?

Because when we're sharing advice, whether it's solicited or not, the person can respond.

And they can say That doesn't really apply to me.

Or they can say thank you.

1:23
And then the other person has a chance to respond as well.

What we've got here happening in job is two different sides.

One side is offering unsolicited advice.

1:40
The other side is rejecting the advice and both are digging their heels in and the conversation is devolving.

It even gets so bad job.

1:55
Says in chapter 19, how long will you torment me?

And crush me with words.

These three guys did not come.

To be with job to sit with him for seven days and nights without saying a word.

2:18
Two.

A short time later be crushing him tormenting him with their words.

And yet God is using this to get to this place.

We're in chapter. 19.

2:35
Job says very famously.

Like we've all heard this song right?

I know that my redeemer lives and that someday.

I will see him in the flesh like I'm going to meet with God.

Like at the end of it, as terrible as all of this is, I know that Someday.

2:51
I am going to meet God face to face.

And then kind of somehow it's all going to be okay.

Jobe also said, and I had never seen this before for, at least I didn't remember In 1910 after 19 verse 23, I wish that my words were written down that they were recorded on a scroll or were inscribed in stone Forever by an iron stylist and Lead.

3:28
Seems like job got his wish, didn't he?

I mean we're a few thousand years removed from these conversations that are taking place and the Book of Job is in probably every translation for the most part of the Bible, all around the world.

The Bible is the most read book, most published book in the history of mankind.

3:50
Billions of people have read these words at this point.

The job got his wish and I wonder at the end of it all was job.

Able to look back and thank God. for the afflictions that he went through, because of what, going through all of this, brought about in him, and for him, and for so many of us as well, I don't know, just a thought.

4:26
