1. THE PRE-MORTAL REALM

In the beginning there was one realm. It was a specific realm based upon a certain spiritual lineage and heritage. It has been called the Pre-existence realm and that is the realm where our spirits dwelt. They lived there in peace until the Great Creator decided that it was time for certain worthy souls to make more use of their talents and to ‘move upwards’ to higher and more complicated levels, although they are also more rewarding levels.

Living on the lower levels may have been fine t one time, but there came a time when people would need to expand more in order that they might become more fulfilled. The pre-existence was a spiritual realm and included spiritual things, including what came to be called ‘the Word’. It is the realm that our spirits inhabited before they entered into the world and gained a human body.

A Young Soul’s Initiation

(There are many philosophical principles that I write about in my stories and essays. The vast majority of the principles that I mention have scriptural backup for them. This story, however, is speculative and there is no scriptural backup for it. I do believe, however, that some truth can be found in it.)

It was a beautiful day in heaven. God, our Heavenly Father, and His Heavenly wife were out in the garden enjoying the beautiful scents that came on the delicate breeze and they were appreciating all of the beautiful colors of their world. They knew that they had an appointment shortly with a beautiful young soul who wanted to know about his future as a mortal being. They had agreed to the task of explaining to counseling with the young soul and telling him about some of the things he might expect after he began his journey to Earth.

The gender of this particular soul was male. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual pre-mortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose. The young male soul was waiting for its Spirit parents when the two of them came into their house for the meeting.

The young soul, like all new souls did not have many distinct physical features. His physical features, other than his gender, were not fully formed because his earthly parents were not in the picture yet. This young soul had, in previous days, taken some excursions down to the planet that was his to be destiny. It was known as the planet Earth, in order to prepare him for his mortal experiences that were to come. He was guided on the excursions by a guardian angel named Regent, who showed the young soul around. Those experiences were referred to as the young soul’s ‘initiation’.

The young soul was very excited and was eager to ask questions about what would happen when he arrived at his destination. The soul and the angel spent many long days together and the angel instructed the young soul well.

On this occasion, the soul’s Creators walked into the main room for the purposes of conducting their discussion. The language that was used in the discussion was a heavenly language. The young soul understood that language from experience, as it had talked to other souls while waiting in the heavenly realm, or as it is also called, the ‘pre-existence’. Regent, the young soul’s personal instructor, also had taught him the specifics of the language. For convenience here, I will describe the story of the particular encounter in the Earthly language of English.

The Heavenly Father and Mother greeted the young soul as he entered into the room. Dost thou understand why we have summoned thee here? The Father asked in a gentle voice and with a loving smile.

Yes, I think so, was the young soul’s nervous reply. The young soul was filled with a spirit of love being in the warm presence of his spiritual progenitors and he felt very much at ease. He could feel the light and the power and the love that was emanating from the two Divine Beings. The two Holy ones could read His mind and wanted to reassure him. The Father said:

Young soul, as you have been told, your mother and I created thee in spirit. That is what happens when two beings love and respect each other and have moments of intimacy that are full of love and very powerful, so powerful, in fact, that a third spirit entity is produced from the experience. In this case, that happens to be yourself. You should know full well that we care about you very much and want to see you succeed in the quest of this learning that is now before you.

The Parents addressed the child as ‘Young Soul’, which is the way they address all young souls.

"In a short time from now thou will be given the gift of a human body. This will be for thy edification and growth. Many things will be experienced with that body. These are things that could not be experienced by any other means. Having a physical body in a physical world may be a challenge, but it can also be a joy.

Take good care of the body that thou will be given in order that it might become strong and healthy in the physical world. Thy body will include many things, a brain, a set of lungs, a heart that will pump and energize your blood causing it to coarse through all the body’s parts. Your five senses, when working well, will enable thee to physically perceive things. Thou will also receive bones, muscles, bowels, a spine, a nervous system, and a beautiful skin to cover it all. Many other things will be given to thee to help to fulfill thy physical
