    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I would like to thank the Triune God – God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, for enabling me to publish the first book of the many books that I have written.

I extend special thanks to Dr. Jacqueline Taylor, my friend and sister, who immediately agreed to take on the task of writing the Foreword for this special book. Your kind words are much appreciated.

My thanks and appreciation to my niece Mrs. Rena Smith-Jarrett and my sons Mr. John Falconer Lloyd and Rev. Oliver Lorenzo Lloyd who partnered to bring this project to fruition by facilitating its editing, publishing, and marketing. I am grateful to my great God for her and for all of them.

    FOREWORD

R ev. Dr. J. Edwin E. Lloyd, Sr. is truly a remarkable man. He is definitely no stranger to warfare. In the literal sense, he has known warfare (both naturally and spiritually). He is the epitome of courage.

One horrific example (which demanded his miraculous courage) occurred during the Liberian 1980 Coup D’etat. Without just cause, Rev. Dr. J. Edwin E. Lloyd, Sr. was falsely imprisoned, mentally, and physically tortured for two years. (Thank God that he was subsequently set free and exonerated of the charges).

I imagine in many ways, that Rev. Lloyd’s gruesome life chapter mirrors a notable Old Testament Long Sufferer’s experience. You may know of whom I speak. Yes, Though-He-Slay-Me-Yet-Will-I-Trust-Him Job. (Job 13:15).

Perhaps fellow sufferers are spiritually encoded with the same faith tenacity. Only God knows. Nevertheless, one thing IS certain; history bears the truth. Despite unimaginable adversity, Rev. Lloyd, Sr. never flinched, nor retreated in battle. Yes, our 21st Century Warrior, (like the Apostle Paul), stood his ground in defense of The Gospel.

In retrospect, The Liberian Civil War is over. Liberia has returned to a semblance of peace and democracy; yet predictably, Rev. Dr. J. Edwin E. Lloyd Sr. remains a dedicated warrior in the Lord’s Army. Consequently, he will battle more wars and continue to win through Christ Jesus.

At this juncture, two pertinent questions might arise: (1) How did he become a Winning Warrior? (2) Why does he continue to win? Simply put: He is a Soldier in the Army of the Lord! Let me rephrase that. Rev. Dr. J. Edwin E. Lloyd, Sr. is a predestined, bonafide General in the Lord’s Army!!

Make no mistake: General Lloyd is definitely no stranger to fasting and prayer. I am convinced that Rev. Dr. J. Edwin E. Lloyd, Sr.’s life legacy is that he offensively and defensively wages war on the Enemy whenever and wherever God commands. What a testimony!

Furthermore, he exemplifies at least three primary scripture references:

    1. "…be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of, God that you might be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of
